Godiva Chocolate Cafe

It's my favourite place in here, especially with the service of the staff mark, who makes your experience memorable one.

One of the best chocolate lava cakes served here with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I have tried lava cake from all over the places in USA, and this is one of the best in Abu Dhabi! Loved it!

The chocolate balloon served with a cold cake inside and might be even from previous day! Chocolate was served in a carton cup and not even put / served on the balloon!?
Bad service

A beautiful and lovely place with friendly staff to drink a special flavor coffee and enjoy the unique taste of their complimentary chocolate with it. I just love this elegant place?

Very nice open area and bit quite that make you enjoy your time and coffee or tea there.

Good to try if you are there.located also close the subway between the new and old extension of the Galeria.

Only blind employees work in this cafe. To call the waiter, you have to go up and hit him a little.

Last time I was here was 2016 March. Glad that had chance to visit again. Make sure your order the chocolate fondue (strawberry and banana). For me, I had ice cream! Yummy! Likewise, glad for good service of the crew! Thanks Godiva!

Worth the money!

Its a good place, but the service is bad, if i want to order somethink i have to wait arond 20 mint to order, I suggest to have more Waiters

The chocolate and ice cream are delicious, there is no doubt. However, the size of crepe with banana and strawberry is shrinking. It got way smaller during the past year than the size it used to be. Although it is delicious, it is not worth it anymore to pay 75 dirham anymore.

Presentaion was so good so was the taste but only if the waffle was towards the gooey side rather than crispier. I would have given it better.still its a good place to sit around with friends and chat.staff was polite and accomodating.

The service was bad. After waiting for a while we asked the server who’s called ‘Amer’ many times and each time he told us someone else will take your orders, meanwhile he served two other customer who came AFTER us. He was also rude and literally told us “Be thankful that I am doing something that I am not supposed to do” in Arabic “كتر خيري"!
And “I’m very tired, if you want you can complain to the manager”. The manager was missing. I need to understand why some customers are served before others even though it’s supposed to be in order?

Beautiful and easy spot for an afternoon coffee and sweet! With views of the water, big comfortable seating, while enjoying as much chocolate as you can stomach, Godiva is a great option!

Godiva was founded in 1926 in Brussels, Belgium, by the Draps family who opened their first shop in the Grand Place in Brussels under its present name, in honour of the legend of Lady Godiva. The first shop outside Belgium was opened in Paris on the Rue Saint Honoré in 1958. In 1966, the company's products reached the United States, where they were sold at shopping centers. The following year, it was purchased by the Campbell Soup Company. In 1972, the first Godiva shop in North America was opened on New York City's Fifth Avenue.

By 2007, Godiva had annual sales of approximately $500 million. In August of that year, Campbell Soup Company announced it was "exploring strategic alternatives, including possible divestiture, for its Godiva Chocolatier business"; the company said the "premium chocolate business does not fit with Campbell's strategic focus on simple meals".

In December 2007, Campbell announced that it entered into an agreement to sell Godiva to Yıldız Holding based in Istanbul, Turkey, which is the owner of Ülker group and the largest consumer goods manufacturer in Turkey. The acquisition was completed in March 2008, for $850 million.

Godiva continues to own and operate more than 450 shops worldwide. [11] The company issues six seasonal mail-order catalogs a year in the US and also accepts online and telephone orders for their products. Godiva chocolate is also sold in local malls and mini shops.

Godiva opened (May 2012) Café Godiva in London's Harrods department store. The 40-plus table venue features Godiva's chocolate beverages, pastries, and chocolates. The company also has a store in the Harrods Food Hall.

Godiva is a participating member of the World Cocoa Foundation and Cocoa Horizons Foundation. The company is a partner of Save the Children, and began The Lady Godiva Program which partnered with FEED Projects in its first year.

In 2016, Godiva celebrated its 90th anniversary and opened its 100th store in China. In 2017, the business opened its first store in Australia, inaugurated its Pierre Draps Chocolate Research & Development Centre in Brussels, and opened its North America flagship store in Rockefeller Center. In 2018, Godiva opened its first café in Brussels, the birthplace of the brand.

In February 2018, Godiva took out a full-page ad in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun financial newspaper, suggesting the retirement of the giri choco practice. [18] In Japan, as part of the giri choco practice, women are expected to buy chocolate for their colleagues, friends, bosses and sometimes family members on Valentine's Day. The public's reaction to the ad was generally seen as favorable.

Godiva has been involved in the controversy over chocolate manufactures use of child labor in the production of chocolate.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating i had the best exprience with a complementary coffee they give me. Benjamin, Joanne and Irene.with their help i bought few boxes of chocolates that are so yummy.

The menu is average, the location is good, the service is not acceptable and very low and no respect, the tables not clean and flies everywhere

Since the renovations:

1. Service is horrible and deteriorated terribly!
2. The barista and servers dont know many of the requests for coffee I.e. Lungo espresso
3. There are flies EVERYWHERE its impossible to sit and enjoy
4. The layout is now less private and enjoyable. It's really out of place how its located and positioned in the middle of the mall

Won't be attempting to try this place again.

Service very very slow.

I followed the suggestion Croifle. Result: Frozen aged croissant (croifle? Croissant pressed in a waffle maker), just a joke. Poor Turkish tea served with a candle warmer without a lighted candle, seriously?

Too bad this place has an amazing spot in the Galleria, chocolates are good.

Could you just focus on your core business?

I had chocolate shot around 3pm, wasn’t crowded, took them time to take my order, they served my order but there was no napkins.
