I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ushna, Abu Dhabi, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with an elegant yet cozy atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening.

Our server, Shafique, was an absolute delight. He exuded professionalism, courtesy, and genuine warmth throughout our meal. His extensive knowledge of the menu was impressive, providing insightful recommendations that heightened our dining experience.

The culinary journey was nothing short of outstanding. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece, impeccably presented and bursting with flavors that tantalized our taste buds. From the appetizers to the desserts, each course was crafted with precision and creativity, showcasing the chef's expertise.

Moreover, the attention to detail and attentiveness of the entire staff, led by Shafique, truly elevated the overall experience. Our glasses were never empty, and each dish arrived at the perfect moment.

A beautiful restaurant, tastefully decorated restaurant with opulent colors to portray a regal colonial era, having indoors and waterside seating. The terrace seating overlooking the Zayed Mosque is truly breathtaking in evenings.

Menu is mostly modern Northern Indian. They have a full bar along with some signature cocktails that goes in tune with a contemporary India. Service is impeccable with multiple queries regarding our comfort and food choices.

The Maharaja Kebab platter was apt for sharing. Succulent flavorful meat, and no overboarding of spices. Subtle and aromatic having tandoori chicken, murgh malai, lamb chops, seekh kebab, malai jhinga and fish tikka. Jingha Biriyani though of great portion size for 2 people, lacked a depth of flavor which defines Biriyani. However, there were ample portions of prawns. A signature cocktail Rishi and a classic Negroni rounded off a great lunch.

Gulab Jamun with crispy Sevyan and Rabdi exuded a warmth just like their namesake restaurant.

A beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating next to the water. The service was a little slow, but the food 6 worth the wait. The menu had traditional and colonial dishes that were freshly made and good portion sizes.

Amazing Indian food and outstanding service provided by Mohammed and Abeer.the attention and care provided by them was overwhelming specially that my Mom came all the way from Al Ain to try Ushna and she was sooo happy.highly recommended. This is our first time to try and definitely won’t be the last time.

We had a nice time at Ushna. We took the birthday package in which the cake and the birthday song part was lovely but the decorations were not upto the level. We expected more balloons and real flowers but what was arranged was disappointing. The food was good, ordered the chefs recommendations from the menu, quantity was reasonable and as we expected it was slightly overpriced for it. The staffs were friendly, appreciate Ms Abeer and Mr Emam for their service.

We had a very nice family dinner, outdoors with with breathtaking views over the Grand Mosque and the Shangri-La area. Food was perfect, good portions and great flavors. Staff was amazing, so friendly, making plenty of balloons for the kids and keeping the entire family happy. Highly recommend!

The best thing about this place is the decoration if you go for lunch because of the natural light. At night the lighting is bad. The food is regular. The service also regular.

We popped into this local favourite and although we haven’t visited for a while it never disappoints.
The staff were friendly and attentive, special mention to Hamam who couldn’t do enough for us.
We had the sharing starter platter which was amazing. Fresh and tasty, I particularly liked the chat. We then shared the mains platter. Again lovely flavours and great to try a bit of everything.
The restaurant was quiet and the Souq itself is struggling with visitor numbers as the choice in Abu Dhabi is now huge. It would be a real shame if this Local institution followed the meat company and closed so please visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Very good and tasty hotel in Abu Dhabi. Ambience inside and outside also great. Tasty food and good staffs. I went to celebrate my wedding day and they made it great by serving great food. But disappointed in decorating the table though they charged for it.

You must visit to have good food and an extraordinary ambience with relaxed mind.

Cost is bit high but justified for its taste, location and ambience and courtesy they extend.

I have been going to Ushna regularly in the last ten years and it is indisputably one of the best Indian restaurant in the Capital. In the last two weeks I have been there twice and in both occasions our waiter was Emam, very competent and attentive. The curries were excellent; the murgh makhani is a classic. Chat and street food entries are also recommended but honestly there is not a single dish that I would not try. I noticed that they now allow families with kids, which was not the case until some years ago. The buildings on the other side of the creek now spoil a little bit the once pristine view of the Grand Mosque but it is still a remarkable view. All in all, highly recommended. They could improve by stopping serving costly and anti-ecological European still bottled water and go with local brands.

The place offers iftar for 145 pax. Reserved a table and informed them that I would be using entertainer they said ok you can use. But to our surprise when the bill came we were charged double when applied entertainer. Saying that rates of entertainer are double than normal. Which means as good as no entertainer. But it should have been clarified to us when we booked the table or atleast when we placed the orders. But it was kept from us and then charged double! Saying that with entertainer u can have soft drinks and coffee tea etc but after the billing. Which is not worth it as no one has tea worth 145 aed. It’s not fair. You must be transparent about the costs to ur customers.

Nice place to hangout and Indian food. Chat platter was good, fish tikka as well. The Lychi+pomegranate mocktail was also great. Mutton gosht was not upto expectation and we didnot eat much from it. Chicken urry was also average. Nan nd chapathi were ok.

Arbitrarily refusing to honour coupons and offers during days that are not public holidays. False advertising.

Edit: To the owner, you proved my point. You cannot decide arbitrarily what is and what is not a public holiday. Public holidays are decided by the local authorities. Deciding that a certain day is a holiday and thus refusing to honour coupons and offers is false advertising.

Good and honestly really bad.
One of the best Indian restaurants in terms of flavor.
But honestly, really ruins your mood when they tell you you can’t use entertainer or any discounts unless you have a reservation AND the booking is made 24 hours before.
We went to it on a whim, but never again with these restrictions. Instead of making people’s experiences smooth they put up obstacles.

1 star is not justified as i did not even ordered anything as there is nothing different to order in vegetarian food in an indian restaurant which someone would generally expect from a fine dining restaurant like ushna. Highly DISSAPPOINTED as we wasted our time thinking it would be different.

For an Indian restaurant the food was plain, you would expect some spices taste but it was so plain!
Also the Naan was too greasy.

Absolutely amazing manager, Mr. Adel! Such a hard working person - helping the entire team and truly being a leader. He really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy customers! Amazed honestly. Other than that, amazing Indian food! The butter chicken and Biryani were to die for! Thank you so much, we’ll definitely become loyal customers.

This restaurant is the best Indian restaurant in Abu dhabi.its on the top of my list with out any competition.the food is freshly prepared and baked! A bit pricy but deserves every penny for that tasty food.i do recommend it but you have to keep the price in mind.

Horrible service with really rude staff specially the person name SANDY (I guess he's a waiter). If you need your restaurant to work he sud be behind the closed door not for the customer service. If there is any higher management who follows up on the real reviews. This guy sud be taught the basic ABC of customer service. Went there for set menu iftar, had booked the place 1 week before and They ended up messing up the entire booking system, there were atleast 3 families who had issues with their table booking. Delayed service in serving food. People started to leave in the Middle of it without even having the main course. Won't recommend the place to anyone.

Completely unreliable. Its written that they close at 11.30pm, we drove all the way, arrived at 10.50pm. The door was closed and the receptionist is looking at us but talking on the phone.
Then the manager comes and tells us that their last order is at 10.30 & they close at 11pm.
Would not recommend it.

I had the opportunity to spend my birthday at Ushna and I am super glad and delighted to have the best Indian cuisine surrounded by gorgeous views of sea facing with lovely lights sparkling around US.

My Birthday Dinner had some of USHNA'S signature dishes like Pani Puri, chana chaat.
Chicken tandoori Tikka, Mutton Dum Biryani which had this amazing saffron fragnance in it, Daal Makhni, Chicken curry amazing variety of breads along with Mouthwatering desert platter that included all my favorites like Gulab Jamun, Malai Kulfi and Rabri each dish was displayed so well and tasted scrumptious.
I loved everything about last night, the service is so classy, the staff is so friendly and attentive.

This is the place with good surroundings, the Bar is good. Now it come to the food as usual there are two segments vegetarian and nonvegetarian. Menu is very limited.
Complimentary starter was useless and they are very stingy while giving you souce, chutney and pickle.

I have nothing to say about vegetarian main course it was waste of money, samosas are their main highlight but those were filled up with tasteless stuffing the crust was not the usual one but still substandard. Paneer tikka was really good but almost without sauce or chutney.
Nonvegetarian can have some relief, the prawn curry was good with rice.
Both vegetarian and Nonvegetarian food were garnished with fried curry leave and trust me it got stuck on the back of my tongue. It was scary. Probably the curry leaves were little overripe and become stiff as well.
Not a bad idea to enjoy food with good surroundings but don't go with very high expectations.

The prices are higher than similar level eateries in Abu Dhabi; Ushna is overpriced. However, the wide range of collection of wines, scrumptious delicacies, excellent location, and award-winning spree makes Ushna a place for special occasions.

I would like to share my experience after dining in ushna alongwith my husband and friends. It was my husband's birthday and i wanted evrything to be perfect to surprise him and I must say that choosing ushna was the best decision for the same. The food was upto the mark with such delicious dishes. Special thanx to Chef Shamshad, Mr. Sandy the general manager and Server Ravi for Ushna who took special care of us and made sure we had one of the most memorable dinner party.

I visited the ushna with my beloved betterhalf and brother. They treated us with mindblowing hospitality and best authentic indian cousine tsty food.the best finest hospitality by the staffs and manager impressed us very much and the fine dining experience is also very enjoyable. The ambience with dimlight open tables, privatisied family sitting, group dining table and outdoor sitting is also available and when ever we want ro move to the new ambience we can relocate to the new table if it is available. The reaturant also having the bar.

Awesome food and amazing service with a good location. Portion size are decent enough esp considering its a fine dining restaurant. Drinks were great and staff is helpful and always smiling.

We were at Ushna last week with 7 of friends to celebrate birthday. First of all venue it self is in prime n premium location with amazing view. As it was very cold outside we have seated inside, restaurant lighting n decor it's just perfect for evening fine dining experience. Food was OUTSTANDING, distinct from other indian restaurants in abu Dhabi. 10 on 10 from my side special thanks to chef shamshad who came to check food experience as well! Manager Sandy passed by and checked if everything is ok that's a nice gesture. Waiter Ravi was looking after us, very pro active n attentive. N before I forgot to mention cake what provided was ice cream cake (superb).
Overall we had blast coz sometime you need that venue where all these things harmonize for me USHNA is d one.give it a try guys!

The best Indian Restaurant I have dined at and has been since I first dined here back in 2012. We visit Dubai annually and always make a trip to Abu Dhabi to eat at Ushna. We have never been disappointed. The ambience and service is exceptional. The food is exquisite and the attention to detail from start to finish is first class.

For the last two years I have been served by Ravi, who surprisingly remembered me from my last visit a year ago. These little things make a difference to the experience. You don’t expect to be remembered after a year. His service was great.

The food.well it has to be the best Indian food I have eaten.the Biryani is my favourite.so much flavour.

Overall I would highly recommend this Ushna, and always do to my friends and family when they’re travelling to Abu Dhabi.

Closed, and has been for some weeks. No mention of it anywhere, we only found out when we walked down from the Fairmont for a meal. Seems to be being refurbed but taking ages.

Gluten free is an absolute must when dining out and Indian food generally fits the bill nicely. Arrived and were seated outside overlooking the canal on a pleasantly warm evening with a breeze cooling things down a little. Started looking at the menu and asked what was recommended for gluten-free food. This led to another menu being provided which listed all the gluten free items and made it simpler to select from. That said the description of the dish still had to be sourced from the main menu. Food was plentiful and tasty as was the service. The only small niggle was that the lighting was rather dim and made it difficult to read from the menu but that didn't spoil the occasion at all. Definitely on the repeat visit list should we take another vacation nearby.
