They moved my belongings from dubai to Italy and I must say that their packaging was good, nothing broke. They used a lot of bubble wrap and extra paper to protect delicate glass items. The only reason I am giving them a single star is because they miscommunicated the price and started charging every thing extra. Their owner Mr Syed did a lot of sweet talk in the beginning just to get the work order, and once the advanced was paid he was nowhere to be found. Didn’t even answer phones or replied to messages He said don’t worry about the storage etc etc” and then they were charging high amount after two months free storage. They shipped my container without even communicating the loading date and my few items were left behind because I was waiting for them to communicate in a timely manner. Their manager Bilal is very rude and was literally fighting over the phone for every single thing (bad behavior I must say and very unprofessional). I wish I had done a better review check on them before giving them the work because they have a lot of bad reviews on other local forums in dubai which I found out later, and the same thing many people wrote that they keep adding up to the price and overcharge. They start with a low price to get the order and then double it almost after advanced is paid, and when customers want clarification they threaten to remove their stuff from warehouse. I do not suggest this company to anyone, they are not honest about their prices. Staff misbehaves and very unprofessional. To pack a small two bedroom apartment they took two days!

They have zero respect for your belongings, everything packed without due care. Items broken and missing. Stored incorrectly. Customer service is non existent and virtually absent.

I would not recommend this company.

DON'T EVEN TRY!

I sent a couple of boxes to Spain. They come to my house put all my stuff in the boxes without making a proper list of items or asking me for any information for the Spanish Customs. They just give me a quick receipt and ask for payment securing me that all will be ok.

Once in Spain, customs ask for extra information. ACORN didn't take care or help. After a month trying to resolve the issue myself because ACORN didn't help, Customs decided to send my boxes back to Dubai.

Once my boxes arrived back, ACORN told me they couldn't deliver the boxes or give me any information because their boss was on holiday in Pakistan! Like no-one else was capable in the office to take decisions.

I did have to change my flight and extend my time in Dubai two weeks to resolve the issue.

At the end ACORN, not only didn't take any responsibilities but they asked me to pay extra charges to get my boxes back.

The most disgusting experience I had with a company in my entire life!

We had to postpone our shipping schedule three times because of lockdowns and travel restrictions at short notice. Acorn understood our situation and changed dates at short notices without additional fees. Shipment is in transit at the moment but i wanted to acknowledge the efforts that have been made to date. I have no doubt shipment will arrive in good condition having seen the way it was packed and moved and will update again. So far so good!

Not a very good experience for single people. Apparently they work mainly with UK but still took my cargo for India. They did not weigh it in front of me like other cargo companies and submitted a ridiculously high quote of 6800 aed citing 330 kgs as the weight. I asked for it to be brought back to my house within a few hours and they still charged me 1250 aed for cancellation which was highway robbery. The next company I contacted gave me a quote that was far lower and when they weighed my cargo it was 130 kgs less than what Acorn claimed. I guess it only makes sense for people whose companies pay for cargo and you don't mind a higher quote. It put me through immense stress and inconvenience just before my trip to India. Also, once the boxes were packed and ready according to them I started to count them and then they said wait we've not numbered one box. Which means if I'd forgotten to check, one box might have not been accounted for. Looking at the other reviews it makes me wonder if my being Asian made them think they could get away with it? They seem to be doing a good job with Europeans/ Brits going by the reviews.

A very big thank you to you and your team for making our first international move such a good experience. We came to Dubai with nothing but our suitcases and 2 children and 15 years later left with 40ft container no less. Acorn did a fantastic job of packing all items sensibly and professionally. All arrived in tip top condition, got unpacked - we just dont have space for it all however as houses are a tad smaller:)

The entire process from quotation through to arrival at the destination was very well handled. We did have last minute changes as our documentation were not ready, they gave us almost two months free storage in Dubai. The packing team were friendly, fast and efficient. Muhammad & Naveed at their Dubai office deserve a mention, they were always very responsive and managed our move so well. Highly recommended company

Thank you Acorn, we had been stuck in Dubai since June last year due to Covid restrictions in Oz. We changed the date maybe 4-5 times and sometimes at short notice. We were well accommodated and most of all you guys understood that planning in Covid is so difficult.
All got here safely including our fragile crystals that we were most worried about.

So we had to store with Acorn in Dubai for almost 15 months before we could ship so by the time we have received our things it was maybe about a year and a half. They kept my storage in clean AC conditions and i am now proudly setting it all up in my house; all in original condition. Well i could not find my TV remote not knowing they made a "Bits & Pcs" box with all fittings and little gadgets so that was my own fault lol.

Entire process from quotation through to door to door service was very well handled.: (i did request a few changes but Acorn Team were quick and efficient and adapted to my needs; from the initial packing of the items to loading into the container. I had my items packed and shipped the 2nd week of June. Paid 750AED to package and send my TV. It was bubble wrapped and packed by the workers from the company. When my shipment eventually arrived mid-September, the boxes were damaged (I took photos and the delivery driver this side did) and when I opened my TV it was bent, crushed and cracked beyond repair. When I emailed to complain I was told that my insurance only covered total loss and that they didn't insure anything under 100kAED. I said that surely as I'd paid to have my item shipped, regardless of insurance, as it was so badly damaged their company should take some responsibility. I was told they wouldn't do anything. Would have sold my TV if I knew they'd destroy it and take no responsibility. Very dissapointed.

I would not recommend anybody to use this company, as I have just experienced the most unprofessional experience.

I called this company when I needed to ship my belongings from Dubai to the UK, as I was relocating, with quite short notice.

When I called, a member of the team was so polite and came the next day to view my items, needing to be shipped. I should have thought it strange that they were available so quickly, when all other companies were fully booked for weeks! I advised the team member that I hadn't shipped anything before and so therefore, wasn't aware of the process but advised him that I wanted to insure my goods. I then scheduled the items to be shipped in just under a week. I was requested to pay half the amount upfront, which I did straight away but never received a contract or receipt, which I thought was strange.

When I called multiple insurance companies for a quotation to insure my goods, I was advised that they cannot insure my goods because Acorn are not API registered. I have now learnt that this is a standard registration that all global shipping companies need to make, to show they are following standard procedures for the small cost of $150. If a company does not meet this basic requirements, they cannot become API registered and therefore you cannot insure your goods.

When I contacted the representative to ask him about this, he told me that I do not need to insure any of my goods, which was another red flag. When I told him that there was no way I was comfortable with this, he advised he can get me high risk insurance for a cost of 4%, instead of the market standard of 1.5%, of the value of my goods. I told him this price was ridiculously too high. He then said he would refund my money.

This left me with one day, to find a new company to ship my goods, which was of course stressful and I didn't even receive an apology.

I advised the representative to collect the boxes that had been dropped off and in two weeks he didn't get back to me and then told me to throw them away, but I would be charged for the boxes.

Later on, I was then told I would be charged and additonal 250AED for them dropping off the boxes, on top of the cost of the boxes. I lived an 8 minute drive away from their warehouse and said this wasn't fair and not something I agreed to. Also, that I didn't want to cancel shipping my goods, but due to them not being compliant with any insurance company, it wasn't my fault or choice that I couldn't use them.

I then started to receive threats, that if I didn't accept this, then I would not receive any of money back.

I then asked to speak to the owner or the manager, to which they refused. By this time I was back in the UK and requested I speak to them on the phone, I asked if I could send them a zoom a link and they refused. I then went on linked in and could not find a single employee to contact, no members of the team are on the website and after looking at their UK website, contact number and email address, all of this has been shut down in the UK. It seems this company only has two junior team members in Dubai (one in sales and one as an accountant) which is very worrying.

Their last response was that it is not their responsibility to be compliant for insurance purposes, which I found a shocking response. I did receive a refund after numerous messages and six weeks but they did charge me for the boxes and 250 AED in delivery, which in Dubai would have cost 25AED in a taxi let alone it would be an either cheaper cost to them for an internal company driver in Dubai. This is also a cost, I wasn't advised of in the beginning or in a contract before I paid.

Please stay clear people and save yourself a lot of stress. I have now reported them to the Dubai government.

Great service from door to door. Had items shipped from Dubai to Vietnam (HCMC) The company where very efficient from the start. Always available on the phone to answer any questions or queries. Very easy payment process and stuff arrived into Vietnam quick and in one piece! Would definitely use again or recommend to a friend.thanks again:)

Simply the best!

Acorn movers were VERY professional handling a move from the UAE to the UK for my mother. To summarise the key points:

1. The pre-sales was excellent and not like what you get with other UAE companies of short replies with no much details and pretty bad English. Acorn Movers were very responsive on email, whatsapp and phone

2. The staff on the day of collection were AMAZING. Clean, super professional and you can tell they have had great training on how to deal with clients in general and during COVID.

3. We were kept up to date throughout the process and informed early on about delays receiving goods to the UK, so our expectations were handled amazingly

4. Goods arrived direct to door and the delivery team were also pleasant, clean, efficient.

For international moves, save yourself the getting quotes. Acorn movers are genuine and professional.

I have not directly dealt with the service however I was in charge of following up on the delays & issues faced by friends of mine who shipped their belongings overseas and I can confirm the level of professionalism is extremely low. After several attempts to contact I have finally managed to reach someone and I was told that the person who deals with the case is on a "tea break" and that I will be contacted at the earliest convenience about 15min later. I was never called back and got to know later on that the company did not take full ownership of their mistake and did not cover the full cost of the container to be released and delivered. My friend had to pay an additional 800 $ US and they blocked her from contacting them again.

Excellent service and friendly staff. We moved houses over 2.5days and it was a superbly executed move. We didn’t feel rushed and the movers took care of all our requirements - at times even beyond what we had originally agreed to for no additional charge.
Overall I’d rate Acorn Movers as the best value for money company that I have experienced over the past 20years that involved moving 5 times across 4 different countries.

To make a very long story short.it's way pass 6 months since hiring Acorn and i still don't have my "Door to door" service. Their inefficiency created huge extra charges when my belongings where left at port 50 +days after being ready to clear. They say they couldn't cover those expenses and never finish the job or care to get back to me. I had to pay AGAIN to finally get my things. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY WITH ACORN.

Not a reliable company, they picked up my belongings on August 2020 to be shipped to Argentina and right now it is February 2021 and my belongings are re nowhere to be found.
Nobody is answering since a week ago so right now they upgraded to the category of scammers and liers, beware and never ever hire their services.

They finally did the payment but they obviously said it was not their fault and refused to pay the extra storage charge that obviously the customs apply day by day of the container being there, it was a total of 50+ days to pay because of Acorn Inefficiency and lack of interest and will to sort out all the obstacles with the third party provider customs agents that they hired by themselves.
Till the date 27/02/2021 I still don't have my belongings delivered.
Obviously it is all my fault and they are the best and saints and my review is fake lol.

Learn from all the bad reviews is all I can say to people searching for information about this company.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who is moving abroad.my experience:

One guy came to visit my apartment and told me that all will fit in a 20 foot container which I booked in advance for the date. (they were chasing for the payment), agreeing that i will leave 3 Ikea storage if case it's full

when they were packing, the supervisor told me that it will not fit in a 20 foot container.i called the salesman and he told me to that i have to take a 40 foot container which i was a bit upset and agreed at the end as I want my stuff to be back in UK.

From 20 to 40 with 3 additional Ikea furniture and a washing machine.such a joke.

I called them one week late to see if i can add one more sideboard and the guy said that the container is already full and its not possible.

OK till now with all the payment.

All my stuff arrived in UK during Christmas time and the UK office (COS freights) didn't plan the arrival properly, so i have to pay storage and custom.the UK office was trying to charge me for handling which i have already paid in UK.i showed him my receipt and he agreed.the team came on the 13 to deliver my shipment, we found out that 3 boxes was missing and we still didn't find the items in the list.their excuses is that they mix some boxes because custom in UAE asked them to check and they didn't even told us.

On top of the unprofessional packed boxes (clothes in Kitchen boxes and vice versa), one of the delivery guy (cos freights) stole my UAE credit card and use it for one week in Woking. I didn't realize until I switched my phone on and receive all the messages.

The guy is still freeeeeee.

Some of the furniture was broken, unprofessional people sticking the brown tape in my son cot which is difficult to remove now

From the payment of the double size container which was also full, i have to pay approximately extra 10,000AED for custom and storage (due to lack of planning from the UK company) and 7,500 AED from the stolen card.

We have all email that was sent to Acorn and Cos Freights and photos of the all damaged and broke. Furniture. Also the police case number for the stolen card can be provided for proof

Hope you take a better decision to go with a professional team even though it’s a little bit expensive.

Great Beginning, Poor Ending
We used Acorn in November 209 to ship some furniture from Dubai to our house in Wales, UK. The Acorn team were brilliant - v personable. The packing team came in like a swarm of locusts and slickly packed up our goods.

When the shipment arrived in the UK the goods went to their UK partners, Cos freight. Cos, however, said they might not release the goods on time due to payment backlogs from Acorn. Our goods got sorted out and released after some frantic calls.

When our belongings arrived in Wales we were SHOCKED at the amount fo damage and breakages to our goods. Whether or not we have insurance is immaterial - the standard of packaging should not have allowed such a high level of breakage.

We have made many international and domestic moves and this was unusual. We also found that items were not packed logically, e.g. Flower pots packed with kitchenware.

Our table top is still missing (!) but Cos are hoping it will turn up.
Lesson learnt: Use a major brand name and pay up.

Acorn are aware of this but there has been no call from them or offer of compensation. Reputation and word of mouth are important in expat markets - which is why we called them in the first place - so I am surprised and disappointed with Acorn.

So happy with the service I received from Acorn, from the beginning until the end! The communication with Syed from the word go was excellent, then Mohammed was very helpful too. I relocated from Dubai to China, and it wasn’t a straight forward move, but the service I received from this company was excellent. The price was also very competitive, compared to some of the more “well established” companies on the market. Just because they’re a smaller firm, it doesn’t mean that they won’t deliver a good service. I would highly recommend. Thank you, Syed and Mohammed for all your help, I’m very happy to finally be reunited with my stuff.

Started well in Dubai. We paid in full. (My bad I guess). Once we left Dubai information stopped. I had to chase Acorn and the Swedish partner. Acorn did not release the BL so the container was stuck in port for 10 days! No information and I had to chase everyday but got nowhere. I was forced to stay in a hotel with my wife and 3 kids.i have now received a bill from the Swedish Partner for storage and penalty charges. All emails to Acorn are unanswered. So I hope this can get me some response.

I see you responded with a lie. Please, respond to my emails and pay me my money you crooks.

After a long hard search for a shipping company in Dubai a friend recommended Acorn to me. There prices were most competitive within the market and Syed’s hands on manner in which to explain and conduct his service were of a competent high level, he was very thorough and followed up immediately when asking for further info. I am now looking to ship further goods with this company.

A NO GO company.
After 10 years Dubai we moved back to Germany and It was just a nightmare with this company!
We had to wait more than 2 months for our furniture after the container has arrived in Germany and we had to go legally against the to release the container.
After all that they refused to deliver the furniture to our house and I had to pay different Company although I had DOOR TO DOOR service.
On top my furniture were broken and once I complained i was told the contract was closed without insurance, which I was never informed about.
Go better for International company as these people are not Professional.

My cargo took exactly a month to arrive, and the entire service was excellent. There was clear communication through the entire service, and my cargo was unloaded in 30 mins from truck to door. I would highly recommend Acorn Movers! I'm beyond impressed!

I recently used Acorn to move from the the UAE to the UK - as you can imagine it can be quiet stressful moving house least of all continents.

Their expertise made the entire experience reassuring, they are absolute experts in their field.

When my belongings were put into storage by a different company they hadn’t packed it well and Acorn repackaged everything - it’s my first week in my place back home in the Uk and there are no damaged items.

Even the company they partner with in the UK that moved my items from the port to entry to the final destination were excellent, accommodating preferences. It’s such a big and critical move it’s best to work with a company you can trust after all you’ve worked long and hard to get to that point and bring back all the things you’ve invested in.

They also kept me well informed at various stages of the entire shipment process - I highly recommend them.

Wonderful experience with Acorn Movers. They supplied all the moving supplies for our move from Ras Al Khaimah to London. They picked up our belongings exactly when they said would (the staff were courteous, respectful and efficient) and had them delivered (safely) to our new home. Any time I emailed a question it was answered almost immediately. I will be using them again for our next move.

I moved some time agoe from Dubai to Melbourne. Muhammad handled my relocation and I can wormly recommend the service. Advice about custom formalities was professional and to the point, the removalists arrived on time to pick the boxes up and more importantly, everything made it safely back home.

I used Acorn Movers, Dubai Office as part of relocation to London, UK. In short, my experience with Acorn movers was exceptional in variety of ways and I highly recommend it.

So what made them exceptional:

1. Price (they were most competitive among others)
2. Services (exceptional - true door to door package and handling services)
3. Communication (was kept me posted throughout the process on when the shipment would be reached.
4. Last but not least, all household items were delivered in UK the way they were taken from us in Dubai.

In short, I am extremely pleased with services and highly recommend it to others.
