Been here in the restaurant for 5 to 7 times, I never get disappointed with the food. All are taste and comes with a huge serving. Staffs are cool and friendly including the music everything went smoothly it was amazing and fast very delicious and mouth watering. I will always recommend African dishes restaurant.
Place is dull, boring and lacks any livelihood in the restaurant environment. Food was rather expensive considering other value offers in the surrounding area, and a higher quality of food was expected for such price, furthermore some prices are very high for the meals and some are very low, as well as that the menu does not display the correct price. Although the quantity was substantial the meats were very hard and dry and the chicken lacked much meat which was not fat or cartilage. I believe that the restaurant could possibly contain some good foods, perhaps it is an acquired taste, but personally as a self-proclaimed food critique I found it quite distasteful and hard to finish. Unfortunately will not be returning due to the food, even though the staff was rather kind. I would advise customers to seek dining elsewhere unless you are already accustomed to and like African cuisine. And I would advise the restaurant to invest in new (warm) lighting, a higher ratio of protein to carb, lively decor and especially to display correct prices on the menu as to not cause confusion.
Try the fried rice meal or jollof or have a mix of both you won’t regret, Pounded yam and egusi is fire also and amazing staff always nice and not too fake friendly which is good, keep it up
The 4 stars is for the food and their interior decor …The servers are so robotic and u could barely see them even smile. You really don’t feel at home there.
The staff was very personable & friendly! They answered all of our questions about the various dishes. They even brought out samples to help us to decide. I loved it!
Friendly and Professional service. Timely delivery. Deliciously tasty Naija food. Thank you for being in Dubai and enabling us to enjoy Naija food. I appreciate you ooo.
I ordered a pounded yam meal through talabat and was extremely disappointed, especially that this was my first time trying this dish. I chose beef for my protein and only received one small piece of beef that was tough to bite off, didn't seem fresh. The rest was flabs of fat that can't be chewed, I was so grossed out that I had to toss it. Not worth the money. 2 stars because at least the yam was good and I received two of them. Not sure if it was to compensate for the fact that there wasn't any meat.
We've never had any African cuisine before, and this has been a great experience. We asked for non-spicy options and got advice on what to try, and it was perfect. Even my picky 10yo ate everything and was very impressed. Thank you!
Omg! If you are Nigerian and missing home cooked meals, this is the place for you. Ask for white rice and the spicy sauce with bokoto! Was sooo happy eating this after dayssss of eating expensive crap Easy on the pocket and homey meals. Abula also on point! The waiter had a frown on all through though but asides that.was gooood gooood
This was my first time eating West African food and I have to say it was delicious. My favourite is the Orfada rice and sauce (make sure to ask for mild if you do not like spicy food) and the gizdoddo, the Turkey wings are also really good!
Have ordered like 4-5 times now, out of it all I only enjoyed the meal one time. The lady that was responding to me via WhatsApp each time is mannerless and rude. Imagine she sent me voice note and raising her voice because I cancelled my order due to late delivery. Her customer centric altitude is just zero. I really wish I see her in person.
Quite impressive. I would recommend to a friend anytime, the only draw back being that a different nationality and race is manager at an African business. Tells a lot of negative much more than positive. I was literally sad, and had I found another African restaurant around which hired African talents, I would have left.
However the food is good. I had some yam porridge and my partner had MOI moi. Taste was okay and environment was clean.
There's also washroom and once I was pressed and saw it, I was really happy.
No customer parking tho. So plan ahead should you drive.
I tried the eguis it was good but not the best I had in Dubai. Good to see we have more of Africans restaurant in Dubai. Prices are affordable and portioning I guess they can do better. Overall good food.
Meeting my brother after a long time at African dishes restaurant al Basha it was so great couldn’t thank him enough for the wonderful service and delicious meal thank you African dishes for reminding me of home with the original home taste
Wow wow wow! Super affordable, nicely tucked in Al Barsha Close to the Mall of Emirates. This is a lovely African restaurant with a huge menu. You do not find alot of African restaurants serving up such varieties. The food is served in generous portions, they have a food display to make selections easier. Guess what I found? The lagos bread, it's just like the popular Agege bread. I did eat in; edikaikong and poundo yam and I have been ordering ever since. You get free bottled water when you dine or have food delivered. Amazing place, they also have the Saturday all-you-can-eat. A must try, highly recommended Good job guys!
Too spicy for my tastebuds despite request for no spice/mild. Explanation of the dishes were not too thorough. Wanted to try Kenyan cuisine but was told it was out of stock. Meat portions very small for the price charged and rice was too heavy.
New place. They are still learning. Hit and miss with the food. Pot luck. The gentleman who owns the place comes in from Abu Dhabi. Very polite guy. Rest of Staff need a bit more work on “happy smiling faces”. Improvement needed. Zomato app picks this but delivery coverage not wide.
Love the food it is authentic Nigeria food and it's great value for money! Had the pleasure of speaking with the Victoria the owner when I called to place my order and she was accomodating in ensuring my requests were met and was very friendly. Defintely my favourite place to get Nigerian dishes! Keep up the good work Victoria and team!
This place is mostly for the Africans, which African dish do you want? Kindly go there for you special delicacy and also to my Arab guys who want to try the African delicious meals, should not waste time.
The best of African Food in Dubai! My personal favourite is the Masa meal from Northern Nigeria. You should also try the Kumu and the Fura (still mostly found in Northern Nigeria). The Amala meal is just unbelievable! Their Ghanaian cuisines are amazing as well! Guys. I approve of the place
They serve absolutely the best Nigerian food in Dubai. Great ambience in the restaurant too. The Okro and Pounded Yam gave me tears of joy. The goat meat peppersoup too. All at great prices
My facebook friend and TBR Room mate, Ifeanyi Abraham was at African Dishes Restaurant and has this to say.
Nigerians are investing in the UAE. A new African restaurant with food from West Africa, East and South Africa is opening up in Al Barsha, #Dubai and I got invited to taste the food? And just experience the ambience. Their 2nd in the UAE. Delicious food! They are on to something. The name is African Dishes Restuarant.
