We had hamour & prawns which goes with white rice, parotta is also good but Porotta is heavy so better is white rice. Pleasant outdoor seating. They doesn’t accept card payment.
While the glitz thrusts further skyward or deeper into the Arabian Gulf, one humble fish restaurant in the shadow of the luxury Burj Al Arab skyscraper hotel bucks the trend.
Bu Qtair peddles simple seafood and fresh fish cooked in its famous "secret recipe, " attracting some of the city's highest rollers to the modest destination. "Some of the tourists who visit us stay in the Burj Al Arab, " says owner Matar Al Tayer. "But they tell me they prefer the taste of the fish here over anywhere else in the city. It is the flavor that has remained the same for 30 years. "
Just ordered our fish and shrimp 10 min and cancelled the very instant we saw the cockroach! This is inedible - pathetic and poor hygiene! Unacceptable - shocking and a health hazard! This place should be investigated and shut down!
My Off day was completed by a decent and wow meal. Ordered for sherry fry and prawns. Both were served hot and fresh. The quality of fish was good. Kindly increase the TV size to know the waiting token number. The outdoor ambience is a wow experience. Kindly improve the quality of kubbus and add fresh juices too.
They have Fresh fish. Oil deep fry option was only available when I checked. No grill. Long queue of fish lovers for dine in (approx 35 mins). I got bored and got it packed to home. A bit Pricy for the fish they prepare and ambience we get i guess. Only cash, No card payment.
Recently visited Bu Qtair after a couple of years, surprised to see a well renovated restaurant, though it was always a best place to eat and spend a quality time with family and friends but this change and look is adding more value to the restaurant, a best Fried Fish place in town, their fishes, prawns, chai, paratha everything is mouth watering along with awesome surrounding, highly recommend.
Value for money, Fish fry is best, location is awesome, best place to hangout with family and friends. Just one problem, they only deal in cash, card payments are not accepted.
No frills attached seafood restaunt. Only serve two items on the menue. Fried fish and fried prawns.pair it with some boiled rice and delectable coconut curry.
Cheap place to eat fresh fish (and shrimps). Don't expect anything fancy, on the contrary. I believe that the idea is to offer fresh (and very spicy) fish very cheap. It was quite crowded. Rating is based mostly on food value for money. Worth trying though as it largely depends on your tolerance for spicy food:)
I went there because of Tony. Food is great but if you're not used to spicy, not so clean places.you may react to the food. The place needs to get a bit cleaner.
Bu Qtair is a Dubai classic. Been there 7 years ago when they were across the street serving fish on a sand parking while being seated on plastic chairs. Food is good, menu is limited but the ambient ist fun. It is more an experience to have with a group of good friends. It is still very pricey for what you get and the setup you will be experiencing. I used to love the old setup but I think that the spot became over rated. You can eat better for less in other cafeterias in Dubai nowadays. Now, one more thing.it is 2021, everyone in the world accepts card. Except Bu Qtair. I had to drive almost 20mn around to find an ATM to pay for my food. Staff is also pretty arrogant for a restaurant that has only plastic chairs.
Food is okay but the staff is so unfriendly and rude. They ignore you and don't seem to want to answer any questions. For example It took me 4 tries to get a staff to answer if they accept credit card as payment. The staff was just walking past me busy doing his own thing. This is not the first time this kind of behaviour has been seen. I have been here 3 times previously. It doesn't get any better than that.
Fish fry means Bu Qtair. Get the fish you like as per size you want - no confusion on preparation as they make your fish simply fried and delicious. Not a 5 star coz of their breads - sometime paratta gets very chewy
Best fried fish and prawns. Went there first time in 2014 when they were operating out of a old cabin. There was a long line of people waiting in queue. In fact I was surprised that such a place existed i dubai. The new location is proper restaurant still there was a long line waiting to place order but its worth it. It has a big parking outside so parking is usually no issue.
If you have come here and eaten this delicious food, then Congratulations! You have officially tasted the most delicious Indian food from the state of Kerala! This is exactly what my grandparents would have made if we were to visit them. The food is fresh, simple and great value for money! Will come again:)
#dubaifood : One of the best restaurants at Jumeirah- @buqtair. This place is well known to serve the fresh fish - Sheri / Hamour fish & Fresh Prawns : After crossing a long wait time, social distancing in que we entered we had the option to pick up the desired size fish & prawns (by weight) we want & Tada they give a token to wait & either its served at the location or you can opt for takeaway. : We ordered Hamour fish & some prawns they were super yum. Alongside we ordered Ghee rice, Khuboos & Kerala parota & very yum fish curry was given as a complimentary with it. : @visit.dubai : This is not a paid review, just sharing my experience.
Delicious fish fried crispy served with there authentic sauce curry and rice and paratha. Fairly reasonable price. Just prawns were too heavy, we ordered 500gms and it was too much for us a family of 4.
Good and yummy place enjoying weather and sea foods. They are serving fresh and quality fish and prawns. Prawns fry is osam and healthy. I faced too much delay for food.
One of the best places for fried fish. Choose your size of fish. However, the price may seem a bit high, but worth the experience. Love their fried prawns too.
It had been a hot favourite restaurant for us since the time we came to UAE in 2008. This was a small place inside a porta cabin at that time and we used to live the variety of fresh fish fry from this place. Now they have diversified the place and the rush to this place have just multiplied. The staff ate real friendly and willing to help.
Not recommend at all. The staff, the food, the seatings not good at all. The old place was much good but this is a complete mess and fish was half fried. When I explain the staff politely about the food he said "eat or if not get out, so many customer waiting" I was ashamed to be treated that way. Never expected any where in U. A. E.
I heard and red a lot about these restaurant, Expectations to enjoy good see food were good, Unfortunately it was not that good, No big variations, fish very spicy and nearly burned
