Mr.Arun Thomas and Mr.Sajid from Calicut Notebook, showed high level of expertise and hospitality in my dining experience, which makes me want to revisit the outlet again.

Thank you Mr.Arun for your entire service attitude and showmanship, Mr.Arun is truly an asset to the organization.

They are making use of being part of Lulu.staff behavior is bad towards customers and they intentionally delay even if there is less crowd and quality of food is below average or I can say l get better food in king Cheaf and pricing is high. No value for our money and time

This restaurant situated in Lulu Hypermarket Qusais. The fusion experience with a slice of Malabar. They will open 8: 30 to 12 midnight. They have free home delivery. They have weekend special non- Veg Banana leaf Sadhya for Keralites. Lot of varaity items like Ulli Theeyal, Fish Mango Curry, Kayal Chemmeen, Chicken Malabari etc. They served Fish Curry Meals daily 11 am to 04.30 pm. I recommend to you come and taste their foods. Their service also good, all are well trained and manners.

Very bad it did not enjoy the food and the water had some hair in them.not worth the money

Nice ambience to visit with friends, or alone! Meals was tasty and not too spicy like typical Kerala restaurants. Approximately it will cost aroud 30-40 AED or less per person.

Calicut Notebook at Al Qusais was like my second home till it was closed. I used to visit there very often as I lived next to it for almost 4 years. Their branch have good Kerala food along with a fusion of Indian, Chinese and Mughalai.

Very poor service today morning 9.30am
No one came to take order.the manager almost was not ready to take order or explain whats in menu.
Then dosa came only one instead of two.very cold.afterwards another one. 10 mnts later.
Then coffee took 20 minutes.again not v hot.had to request more powder twice.
Again poor show by not clearing table with two reminders.
Note that only 6 people as guests were there in entire restaurant.it was not a full restaurant.
Also there were staff on duty.
Not that only one person was doing all the work. Can someone explain such poor behaviour.

Their food is really good, but mismanagement. Very poor service. Even after customer is there it takes long time to take order. And also once they took order after 20 minutes another guy will come to rake order because the first guy forgot to register the order. Amazingly worst service

It's on Abu bakar street in the neighborhood of Asiana hotel. It's nearby locations are, Asiana hotel, Al Muraqqabat police station, Salah ud Din Metro Station and Abu bakar Metro Station.

Nice experience.a little bit expensive. But it's ok. Tastewise it's worth the money. Food delivery on time (not waiting too much) then one suggestion is plzz add some more variety dishes

Food is ok. Once food on the table noone else looks into after that. There is no dedicated staff for specific tables especially in lunch time. Staffs are need to improve a lot for attending customers.

Plates and glasses have not cleaned properly.
We were unattended for a long time.

restaurant. I am honored that I got the
opportunity to meet a lovely half dead
cockroach by the washroom sink and
throughout the whole meal all I could think of was cleanliness of the kitchen. If Calicut Notebook can't manage to keep a bathroom clean I'm pretty sure the kitchen would be a whole different story and the overall cleanliness of the floors just kept proving my point. Food, dust and hair coated the floors of the restaurant and the frames of the chairs. Don't come here, eat some place else where you can actually maintain your appetite.

Yesterday we had lunch @ Calicut notebook qusais Lulu, worst food with worst service experience. First of all they served the special fish dish that we didn’t ordered & price also very high.
We had dining there previously and it was best, but the last one was horrible & we won’t dine there again.

Their customer service and food quality are excellent. We've ordered Karimeen Pollichath's South Indian Rice. The masala on the fry is authentic, and the aroma made my day.
Payasam, Sambar curry, and kingfish curry are all delicious. The price is a little high, but the product quality is worth it. Special foods will require more time to serve.

Staffs are friendly and very professional

I have ordered porotaa and chilli chicken. But they gave us chicken normal curry. Then they replaced and given correct order.but we waited for some time. The glass was not washed properly we were getting bad odur. Only one thing i liked is Tea

I tried normal Chicken Biriyani. Its an average food and not too better.service staffs are quite good. Large area provided for dine inn.

Food was too bad. Ordered all South India dishes. Quality was very bad. Served black tea in a dirty glass! Staff was rude and not at all paying attention!
His attitude was like serving food for free!
Won't go again and will not recommended to friends.

Must try starter receipe Kanthari Fish tastes very good. Aappam meen chutty curry nice combination. Have a try price worthy.

My recent experience with this places is just a couple of days ago when we ordered vishu sadhya for 6 pacs. Pathetic would be very apt to describe the experience in total. The only aspect that needs to be commended is the attractive packing. The rice was under cooked, most of the curries are tasteless and salt-free.the palada payasam transports the customer to a whole new world of experience- its more like a maida slush than a payasam.the aviyal vegetables are precisely picked based on their age and severely under cooked. But yes the pricing was done to match gourmet standard.no blames on that count:)

Food quality was bad. Behavior of staff was rude.
Soup was salty and couldn't take even a sip!
Malabar Chicken dish was burned.

I have been there two times, but never again. Unhygienic and the food were below par that I ate.

I have never been so disappointed with any kerala restaurant so far as I was today with Calicut Notebook. Both service and food is so poor and heavily priced (prices not found in menu). I was even tricked into ordering large quantities. Never going back!

Just ordered, usually this chain have staff who are very good mannered. Here the man at register wearing white (L***N) didn’t even look up and had a dirty frown. Will find out later how the food is.

Worst experience the management is really poor no service at all just because of the taste we use to go there but the staff is so arrogant and not at all trained to handle customers pathetic will never recommend this place to anyone nor vl go next time

Very pathetic service. Waited on the table for 20 minutes nobody came to take the order. Finally I had to call someone loudly to get attention. Very unprofessional staff in the restaurant. Zero customer service not recommended.

This restaurant surprised me with a great fish biriyani this time.
Nothing much to say, a good place for any time foods.

Sometimes seating will be busy, we need to wait for the entry. The executive at the entrance will help you to seat your team in a comfortable table.

Thank you for your delicious lunch. Love to come back. Enjoyed. Calicut Junction is a new reastaurant in Al Qusais area opened just a month back.
Service and staffs are very good.

Today i went their to have a dinner with my family. The waiter who attend us not even greet us and try to take all the orders at once in the beginning.we told him once we try one item then will give another order.but he said if u order in the middle it will take time to prepare. I convinced then I gave all order in the beginning itself.after waiting some time he deliver our order.wheat parotta, Appam and achayi chicken gravy and chicken drumsticks fry (flavoured with sweet taste). Achayi chicken is not tasty (like chicken inside the drumstick gravy and no spicy at all.so we want to ORDER some spicy food.so we call the waiter and he told to try spicy Malabar chicken curry.we ordered and wait 20 minutes then another waiter bring the item.it is the same achayi chicken gravy again.then i ask the waiter why he bring the same item again he told it will take more time to prepare the second order.if such that why they took the order. They have to ask the customer to change the order if not possible, not as per their own wish.moreover not even to say sorry for this event.very bad experience and i dont recommend anyone to try atleast. Superb food, I would surely recommend the payoli chicken dry fry and kanthari chicken grilled. Those where just awesome.
You will get the pure coconut oil flavour in all their food.quality food made out of quality ingredients.

Just loved the food out here, must try for all mallus out there.

Got a bit late in evening so was looking for some place to have Indian food. So, went to try this place.
+ Ample RTA and free Lulu parking.
+ Huge seating space so mostly there won't be waiting unless there is some festival.
+ Very polite and helpful staff.
+ Staff helped us select dishes, specially made with Fish (Lemon Pepper grilled Thava fish - must try, Fish fillet Kanthari Tawa)
+ Also tried Alleppey veg curry with their awesome Appam. Must try.
+ Reasonably priced menu considering the quality of food.

- Can improve on handwash area Hygiene/ cleanliness.

Yummy food.family friendly place.food was on time to the table.but the barsha branch was better.the popular Pazhassi Salad was missing here.left heart broken.

Worst customer service and wait for 15 min for to take ordr and no one came to take orders and taking ordr for special category ppls only and very irresponsible service.

Very poor ambience and hospitality. No comfort even in the seating. We were planning to have biriyani. After checking at the counter it was confirmed it was available, they told us to wait for the seat for around 15 minutes. After we got the seats the person taking the order said biriyani is not available. They didn't even said sorry for the same. Totally dissatisfied.

I have the worest experience to get coffee. I have asked for two coffee with milk, I received two small glass cups filled to two third only with something like 3 in 1 taste in addition surprised with dirt stiky cups. When talking to the waiter, he said it is just coffee powder dirt then called another guy and said the same. I found I am talking different language here of cleaness and quality. Finally third guy came and asked them to change one cup.
Really after this experience I will never go there if something simple like coffee and made and presented in lower than the lowest quality then what about the food.

The dragon chicken, I had very bad experience of heating rotten chicken.very bad for a restaurant to serve.an old chicken fried in oil.which stinks. I could smell the chicken.

Food delivered very late and it took more than 30 min. After serving the food, no one came to ask for any extra order.

Quite expensive but healthy food good service.
I will recommend to buy seafood its quite expensive but tasty located in nice place you can enjoy the view of mall while eating.

Amazing food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed the fish in the white and red sauce. The quality and quantity of the food is very good. Very lively and lovely restaurant.

First up want to thank Mr Sateesh, MD, Calicut. I called a number from the site and didn't know it was the MD number. I was desparate to eat Onam Sadhya and was trying all out to order a takeaway. Unfortunately all was sold out and then I called Mr Sateesh from Calicut not knowing he was the MD. I told him about my desparate search and how was unsuccessful. He told me to wait and that he will call back. And to my surprise he called back after 2 hours and said that on the 2nd Sept he will make arrangement for me as well and that I can come and pick up the Sadhya. This was on 31st. He followed up with a call on 1st and said all will be ready and I picked up the same.

The food was amazing and fulfilling. I enjoyed a great Onam Sadhya with my family after a very long time. Always missed it due to work engagements and travel but not this time thanks to Mr Sateesh. The Sadhya had 24 different varieties and amazing taste.

The worst customer service ever.the staffs are behaving as if we are their servants.such dump idiots are being choosed for the position.idiotic customer service and the worse attitude i have ever seen.

Ordered a pepper chicken masala for a dine in for two. Once I received the bill, I realized that the the dish was a full plate and not half plate. After placing an order for soup, starter and the main course, should I go for a full plate curry. Hence train your staff to ask whether a half or full plate is required for the customer so that there are no surprises.

This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. Not only do the waiters lie about prices and serving sizes, but also the ‘food’ that they serve is definitely not as advertised. I can’t speak for the whole menu but, the shrimps (which are nearly 8.5 AED per piece) are literally the quality that you’d find if you left a fishing net to primarily catch 2.5 micrometer prawns which are 80% shell. They are definitely not the ‘Tiger Shrimp’ that they advertise to be, I wouldn’t even consider them to be kitten shrimp upon further inspection. The entire place is a joke and I hope all 200g of food that I ordered, which they charged one hundred and thirty bloody dirhams for, wasn’t completely diseased considering me and my two friends nearly vomited a mere 15 nanoseconds after digesting it. If you ever plan on going here, I’d suggest just buying the 1.5L bottle of water as it’s probably the only reasonably priced commodity these buffoons sell. This is where you’d go if you really just wanted to make your other poor decisions feel intelligent in comparison, it’s the only part of it that I felt inclined to be monetized as their food definitely shouldn’t be.

Tried their chicken biriyani. Typical malabar biryani, but it was lacking that flavor of biriyani as well as chicken pieces were small.

Biriyani was served with pickle, pappadam, yogurt and payasam.

Its nice restaurant with South Indian dishes. We ordered 1 Biriyani, Wheat porotta and beef ularthiyath. Biriyani and Poratha came first and later about 10 mins they brought the beef curry. Then i asked for an extra porotta which took more than 10 mins. So totall time taken to have a lunch was amost an hour. And when we asked repeatedly, without saying anything the staff smiled in such a way that they are offering free food to us.

Pricing and quantity is okay.
