Worst Service Ever they mentioned 20 days for Passport Renewal but took more than a month. When you call them they don’t Answer Phone.

When I arrived at the consulate last week to renew my passport I had a few concerns and worries about my particular situation. Fortunately, my appointment was with Robert who was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable about how to best approach my situation. He guided me and provided excellent recommendations that reassured me and comply with local regulations. Thank you very much Robert, I appreciate your help!

Renewed my passport here - emailed them questions ahead of time and they responded right away. Came prepared and they processed it quickly and were very clear and communicative. Found it less stressful than doing it in Canada, location is also easy to get in/out of if you come early to avoid DIFC traffic.

For quick photo fix, you can pass by 'photo fast' just across SZR.

Good thing I took an appointment and came 15 mins early. I only had to wait 1 hour and 15 mins. That appointment was necessary.

The worst customer services, if you are planning to go Canadian Embassy in Dubai. They will refuse to meet you and give the reason we allow only Canadian citizen. If you are calling them they will not attend the calls.
I tried many times on calls and i tried to convince receptionist about my problem, first she refused to go in office. After some time she call to embassy and they stopped her by saying we just allow Canadian Citizen.
I will suggest dont go there it will be time wasting.

The two stars are simply because the staff members I spoke with here in Dubai have been nice and polite, and the biometrics appointment through VFS Global was quick and efficient.

Aside from the above, this has been the most horrendous visa processing service I’ve ever experienced - the online application process itself took about 4 hours due to their ridiculous demands, questions and documents requests (ie.your life CV). They do not even provide you with any updates through their portal, via email or phone call for that matter after that - they simply ask you to be patient (?).

I applied for a visitor’s visa on March 6th 2023 - we are now beginning of June 2023, which means that 3 months down the line, still no news even after I told them that I already have my plane ticket booked (which I will probably lose as a result). Through the other reviews I’ve seen, I’ll probably only get that visitor’s visa approved by next year - which will be too late because I have no plans on visiting Canada past this time where I was supposed to go for a wedding.

Sad, disappointing and probably the most inefficient, inconsiderate and useless service ever.

When I call the embassy by phone, the operator ask to press zero. When I do that it is usually saying you pressed the wrong number.
I have sent email to ask some questions, they have never replied to me.

Hello canadian embassy. I submitted documents on January 16 and still haven’t got any answers. I think they are looking at a tourist visa at the embassy because of this I wanted to ask if you can consider my documents. Please answer when it's faster possible. Iknow your work is not easy I wish you health and all the best.

Im here for enquires in regards to agents for job search to canada here in dubai? Do you guys check if there trade license is valid and are they eligible to help people search jobs in your country.since its sad that they tend to take advantage of people out here who wants to look for greener pastures…

Unfortunately no update whatsoever from the embassy regarding the application submitted in May 2022. At the time it stated visa processing time was 46 days. No way of contacting the embassy and no response to feedback submitted online

While I've had some frustrating experiences through the years, this last visit (which had some complications) felt like a genuinely collaborative process due to Flaviana - I'm so glad someone like her works at the consulate, she was truly helpful and patient with me!

We have been waiting for a year and 3 months just for a tourist visa and still didn’t get any update until now so this is canada? This is ridiculous

So confusing no more pandamic in canada but still the consulate in Dubai don't answer the phone because of pandamic. And still need an appointment to finish our paper because of pandamic.

Ms Dina is extremely very customer service oriented. I am proud as a Canadian to have people like her in our overseas missions, she did not only facilitate the process of my son's passport renewal process, she went out of her way to help in making this process so smooth and stress-free.
I do not agree with the negative feed-backs on this page, however everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I did not witness any unprofessionalism, rudeness or inattentiveness from everyone I encountered at the Consulate starting form the security, reception desk and finally passport renewal officer.
Well done Consulate General of Canada in Dubai for your choice of employees.

Visited the consulate this morning for the first time in my 6 years of living in the UAE, have to say I was thoroughly impressed by the service I received.

Staff are professional and polite, and I was in and out within 15 minutes. The personnel were also pleasant to deal with.

Most of the negative reviews on here are either from entitled Canadians who think they’re owed some sort of red carpet experience because of their nationality or from people who came unprepared and are taking it out on the employees.

Hello everyone I m living in Dubai from last 18 years and I m not able to save 1000 usd after 18 years I m uber driver now I want to apply for canada I don't know anything can someone help me what I need to do for settle in Canada

The collaboration between CBC Dubai and the Consulate is outstanding. Our members and CBC Dubai Team can't express how proud we are to have them.

An embarrassment to Canadians. Service is terrible, completely backwards third world office and people that work there. Shameful.

Extremely Rude people, not representing Canada at all, extremely Unprofessional and not helpful, most of them have attitude problem as well as implement another culture forcing issues that is absolutely against the law, multiple bad experience, I noticed when your case been handled by Lebanese workers, I have documented many offending incidents.
I am really disappointed.

Absolutely appalling service. I needed a no objection letter and 3 TIMES AND 3 VISITS LATER on the same day, they still could not provide one with my correct spelling name as per my passport details. Really appalling service for a Canadian consulate abroad.

Advice: make sure you check EACH paper given to you from back and front. They even managed to hand write something at the back of one of them making it impossible to attest at the Ministry of Foreign affairs. The next one they tried to correct they wrote my name wrong AGAIN. All this with 3 visits in ONE day. Truly appaling

Helpful staff specially the gate security and the officer over the telephone
Friendly and nice demeanor they both answered my repeatetive questions in a calm friendly way they helped me through my emergency situation.
Really thank you.

The staff seem nice and polite, however they are not equipped to help the Canadian public effectively. Understaffed I would suspect.

Canada is the place where Multicultural, Non Discrimination, full of Opportunities and best country with Beautiful nature in the World!

Some people here complaining about rudeness! They treated me well, i felt welcomed, the lady at the Reception answered all my questions with a smile.

Rude people! This does not represent Canada in any way! Unprofessional and seemed that the consulate only hires Lebanese? Why? Canada is multicultural place with diverse range of people! I truly hope that the Canadian authorities do something to change this! Unacceptable really never seen rudeness like this ever!

كل التحية والتقدير للسفارة الكندية والعاملين بها احيط سيادتكم علما ان هناك مكتب اسمه Phoenix capital ومقره single tower 2903 في منطقة البرنس باي يقوم بالنصب علي من يرغب في السفر الي كندا مقابل 4200درهم وخلال ٩٠يوم يستلم الفيذا انا كنت ضحيه انا وأكثر من ١٤شخص ومر علي تقديم الأوراق ١١شهر ولم أتلقي منهم سوي اتصال من كندا وعندما اتصلت بنفس الرقم اتضح انه من كبينه والرقم ليس له أساس عندما زهبت للمكتب وأصريت علي انهم اهدرو وقت كثير قالو لي خذ نصف المبلغ فقلت لهم لا قالو مافي فيزا خذ نصف المبلغ من الأفضل لك ومعي الأوراق تثبت ذللك انا وأكثر من ١٤ شخص أرجو الافاده

The worst experience I have ever seen,
Clearly don’t represent Canada that we know.
Unprofessional in every way. I really hope higher authorities replace them. Extremely rude unfortunately they represent Canada.
