Delhi Darbar Restaurant - Mumbai's Best Biryani

Very expensive for such simple meals. We ordered mutton biryani - the rice was cold, no masala in tge rice, undercooked and recieced all meatless bone pieces. Very disappointed. This used be a class apart when I was younger, sad to see such questionable quality of food.

Great & tasty North Indian food with good portion size too. Good for people with good diet and intake capacity.

I love the food over here as they have very good biryani and Tandoori Chicken. One of my favorite restaurants to eat at home. Few things which you can improve on is your service and atmosphere by keeping the area more hygienic and bigger and the service could improve as the waiters could be a bit more active and happy. Not including these I really like the restaurant’s food.

Some superb food here both in non vegetarian and vegan.though their menu leans more towards non vegetarian options.

Did lunch delivery on Talabat for one chicken biryani, one chicken tikka boneless (8 pcs) and two Tandoori Rotis.

Food was not up to the mark and does not justify it’s expensive price when comparing with competitor prices.

The portions were to laugh at, especially the biryani was half the size of what you get elsewhere for double the price.

The tandoori roti sizes was more of a small chapati, despite being priced at AED4!

The chicken tikka and its chutney was just okay, nothing to try again

After the food I was left feeling heavy and sick feeling in the stomach and garlic burps (from biryani) till late night.

Worst experience ever! The staff are extremely rude and neglectful.
Food quality has deteriorated over the years and full of artificial color with no taste.
The only good thing was sweet lassi and sweet lime soda!

Any self respecting north Indian should not eat here.

Had a bite to eat and the rest went into the garbage chute.

Special mentions: butter chicken. I would feel ashamed to even have it on the menu.

Recommendation: only if you want to know what north Indian food shouldn't taste like.

Cheap thrills: try the green salad. Can't mess that up.

Poor service.chicken biryani was served cold. And they don't even serve you the food. Disappointed. Not visiting that outlet again

Felt average food, good staffs. Good place for families and official lunch etc as the place is calm and decent. Very expensive for daily food. To be frank didn’t feel worth fir the money paid as felt bit expensive.

Seriously with lot of expectations we entered the restaurant but really disappointed us with food and interiors of the restaurant. Really felt that place need to be improvised with quality of the food and interiors. As a first time customer you may try it.

This is the spot to go for the greatest tandoori chicken, full of taste and the appropriate spices. Their butter chicken and finest Naan were also delicious.

I would recommend this place for the best tandoori chicken full of flavour and right spices. We also loved the taste of their butter chicken and so soft parantha.

Ordered today a home delivery of butter chicken, palak paneer and romali roti but was very disappointed. We have been ordering from here for the last 15-20 years but today was a big let down.

Been coming here all my life. The food was so disappointing and tasteless. I mean, it’s delhi darbar! The butter chicken tasted more like just chicken, red color and Butter. Seriously? The daal had no taste at all, water and naan. Now coming to the naan, how do u make a GARLIC BUTTER NAAN SWEET? How? Super sad to have experienced this. ‍

Went for a late lunch at this famous place in Karama, couldn't have the tandoor appetizers as we were late. However the food served was good. Ordered the following

Butter Chicken - Really tasty, loved the creamy curry.

Prawn Curry - Again an excellent curry, will not disappoint.

Dabba Gosht - As famous as it was, I found it to be a bit bland and okay - ish. Did not enjoy.

Butter Rotis - Soft and nice

Papad, Raita - will not disappoint you.

Chicken Biryani - This definitely brought back memories of eating in Mumbai's Delhi Darbar. Was subtle and will keep you at peace.

Amazing yummy Mutton reshmi /malai kabab.
Mutton biryani was also good but felt over priced.

What was once a great restaurant is now a disaster. The fly in the ketchup bottle was just an icing on the cake. Left the food as is. If i get food poisoning tomorrow ill definitely complain to dubai Muncipality.

One of the best Malai Kofta for the vegetarians and Tawa Chicken for non veg. Perfect Garlic naan and tandoori roti. Decent place to sit. I visit it once a week.

Delhi Darbar has been in service since the year 1946.

It is one of the oldest restaurant in Mumbai and is famous for its Mughlai dishes be it vegetarian or Non-, vegetarian. It has been here in Dubai since a long time now and has 3 branches.

We visited their Karama branch and tried some of their specialities.

The food was good. But there needs to be an improvement in the Biryani preparations. The bread of the Shahi Tukda should be crispy rather it was very soft. We felt that these two things were not great. If they can improvise on it will be great.

Really average taste and flavours. The biriyani had no smell at all and was oily. They're riding out their previous reputation by charging premium prices for subpar tasting food.

Very very bad experience, hair were lying In the bowl, all over the places flies were there, and the mutton cutlets was not cooked well and the most important thing biryani was awful never same as before, their chef is changed.

Starters and soup was good in taste. And service was really quick. The biryani was not at all neither the egg biryani nor the vegetable biryani.

This restaurant has been my favorite place to go to since my bachelorette days in Dubai. They specialize in Indian cuisine which is more Mumbai style food to me. Their food is delicious and I am a big fan of their veg as well as non vegetarian delicacies.

What did we Try this time:
Mixed Grill Kebab Platter - one of the best kebabs in the city I must say. We just devoured them all.
Mutton Korma - it's a curry made with lamb shanks and flavourful Indian spices best eaten with Paratha or Tandoori Naan or Roti.
Mutton Biryani - it was awesome and delicious.
Doodhi Ka Halwa - is a dessert that is made with bottle gourd, milk, sugar and cardamom and topped with nuts and cream. It was divine.

We truly enjoyed ourselves and loved the way we were welcomed by the staff on venue.

Delhi Darbar was one of the places the food definitely tasted like home. The Chicken was very good with naan served with perfection. I loved the mutton gravy as well. The perfect combination of spices all blended together. We also tried their kabab platter and I was definitely NOT disappointed. I loved it so much. Their seekhs were delicious and their chops were drool worthy. The Rumali Rotis were soft and perfect

In the dessert we tried their Phirni it was tasty and creamy.and I really hope I can try them again soon. Totally recommend this place.

Till today it was one of my favourite restaurants since i am a mumbaikar and have been always referring them even back in India and here as well.

I am soo sooo disappointed this time that i have finally took this step to put across my review.

I ordered biryani and it came not fresh at all with burned masala and chicken, even the cutlets weren’t fresh

Poor service, the waiters seemed very bored to speak or serve, he kept taking plates away while we were eating

We visited the Zabeel Road - Karama branch where the ambience was very royal and the staff was very welcoming.

Roomali roti along with stuffed grill chicken and mayo was very yummy. Indian version of shawarma!

Dynamite Shrimps were very fresh, crisp and tasty! Served in the classic cone shaped container.

All type of grills which included paneer, mutton sheek, reshmi kabab, tandoori chicken and other various types of grill was mouth watering. One of the best Grill platter in Dubai. The ingredients are overlooked by the Brand owner himself.

A lip-smacking chicken curry without bones was very creamy and tasty. Every Indian will be proud of this dish and Delhi Darbar has the best version of it.

Prawns Masala

Prawns Masala gravy was very much flavourful with prawns in it and amazing at the same time. Very much beyond expectation.

This included all types of rotis like Reshmi paratha, roomali roti, tandoori roti, Garlic naan, butter roti, lachedar paratha etc. All of the rotis were very soft and freshly served.

An aromatic Mutton Biryani garnished with mint and brown onions was saporous. Delhi Darbar’s Signature dish!

Akhni Pulao

This is one of their signature dish which was very flavourful and yummy. This is their newest dish and definitely a MUST TRY!

CHICKEN NOODLES

Rating -

Chicken noodles along with various vegetables was very yummy and delicious. Another one exceeding the expectation!

DESSERTS

Gulab Jamun

Rating -

Gulab Jamuns served with sugar syrup were very soft and was tasting amazing.

Shahi Tukda

Rating -

Bread dipped with kesar and mawa was very rich and delicious. This one is very unique!

DRINKS

Lassi (Mango/Rose) ?

Lassis served in a classic style container were very refreshing and perfect way to end the dinner. Lassi lover can drool over this!

Always good and yummy food only cleaning then need to focus a bit more although it's good but u can smell the stincky air easily

An old time favourite. This store has been there for a very long time and has sustained against all the new food outlets that have opened over the years.

A vast menu, good food and great service.

We ordered a mix grill, jeera rice, daal tadka, tandoori prawns and prawns fry.

Every dish was delectable. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

It's not like Bombays real Delhi Darbar.
We came to enjoy real authentic DD Biryani, with Arab and Indian friends.

When we asked the staff what is best in your menu, they responded like zombie, Unprofessional, they must guide customer, instead, it's in menu read it, what you like order it.

Since you have legacy, you have responsibility too, please maintain it, chicken biryani was excessive salty, below average taste, will not recommend.

Please be noted, if u will order from Delhi darbar in Karama branch please inform him 2-3 times then they will send you proper delivery to you.
I have informed him please give us onion, lemon and cutlery, but they didn’t give us anything and his charge like 5star hotel 32 for veg biryani and 4 Aed Is delivery charges‍️

And it’s not hot as well because i have order around 2 o’clock and i have received the delivery around 4 O’clock.

This is the service in Karama Dubai Restaurant.
If you are paying money as per restaurant amount them why we are not receiving good services from them.

Delhi Darbar is an authentic place for Mughlai food. I have been their ardent fan for the past 20+ years. Their tangdi kabab, boondi raita, masala papad on request, khichda and biryani are all a feast to your palate. Their butter naan with butter chicken can toss out ur guilt feeling. Add kheema to it and ur a total sophisticated seated carnivore. The ambience is calm and service is good. If u prioritize good food then this place is a must visit on ur holiday to Dubai. For the sweet tooth holders their malai kulfi and after a pause button.their tea. All under one roof. A bit pricey but valid 4 ur money.

Woahh what a dum biryani and kuhad wali kheer with rashgulla poppin in there loved this place and its fantastic mouthwatering dishes

I had visited this place along with friend couple of years ago, the food was good so
I was very excited to take my family here for the first time on the special occasion, hurray! It was my Wife's Birthday?
We orderd mutton chops, tandoori roti, chapathis and chicken kadaai. The food was served within 20 mins, mutton chops was looking awsome, but when tried it was the worst dish I had ever had, only bones just very very little meat sticking on the bones. If all the meat was collected it wouldn't be more than a spoon full. I would highly recommend not to try that dish particularly.
My wife was upset, she said this is dish not even worth of 4 aed and why they charge 40 aed, felt so cheated. Anyway chicken kadaai and rotis were good, it was tasty no complaints.

The food is very salty when we inform the manger he told it is ok. Useless experience. Don't waste your money on useless food and useless service.

If you need to taste proper Bambaiyaa food, this is the place to visit. Chinese cuisines are also available. Going for 14 years now. Love it

A good place to have some good indian food. A bit high on the price. The sofas are not comfortable to get in and out, but the food will take care of that

It's a pretty decent place to have north indian food. The lamb cutlet was amazing along with mutton seekh kabab.
Butter chicken was nice and the breads were well cooked! Good place to visit if you're around!
