Food was ok, I got the goats cheese salad. wish there was more cheese!
Service good but they let a family with small children sit in the smoking section, which made smokers very uncomfortable sitting next to them.
Atmosphere happy and friendly.

Outside meeting a friend.music was loud but we were OK.them music from lhe pool area kicked in and we were shouting to hear each other.we left despite happy hour.not worth it

Food is amazing. This place always brings me back. If you want really good pub grub this is your place with great views.
Only negative is their music. Really annoying pop on repeat. Fix that and it's 10 out of 10

If you’re looking for a delicious Sunday roast but can’t figure out where to go, head to Dhow & Anchor. As a vegetarian I am quite restricted to a good roast in the city! My choices are limited to either “no roast” or the one with frozen “impossible burger/sausage” chucked onto a plate. A rather lazy excuse for a roast!
However, this wasn’t the case at Dhow & Anchor. I’d called in to check if they could cater to my vegetarian needs and the lovely Chris (who manages the establishment) gave me not one, two, but a handful of options to pick from! The chef on duty personally attended to us and asked what I’d like.
To which I responded: as long as it’s some form of pie (as my meat replacement) I am good.

Not only did I get a whole plate of roasted veg, onion gravy, Mac & cheese, sweet potato mash, but I also got a hefty serving of freshly-made vegetarian pie. Creamy and delicious inside, crispy cheesy topping on the outside.

The place was buzzing, had live music, staff was extremely attentive and Chris (the manager) personally made sure we were looked after. Now this is what I call a fantastic customer service. Look forward to going back already!

Food was patchy. Lack of attention to detail serving opened ketchup pots, sour cream. Service was terrible and often very slow.

Blown away by the service. Chris (restaurant manager) was so helpful and accommodating. Wanted a good vegetarian roast and there wasn't a decent option on the menu. He had the chef come out to speak to us and customise a dish especially for us, which was delicious. I'd been chatting to Chris from 2 days beforehand, asking loads of questions and from the first contact to the moment we left he made us feel like we were guests in his home. Truly VVIP service. Thank you

I had dinner at the Dhow and Anchor and all I can say is that it was really good. The atmosphere and setting are immaculate. We sat outside and the food was excellent and they have a selection of pork dishes and a great drink selection. The service was great and the staff are helpful and friendly, I full recommend even if it a little pricey

The venue is nice and the outdoor area is good, but the service is really lacking. Staff are friendly and welcoming, but there is a lack of consistency and continuity with order-taking and food/drinks serving. I am not an F&B industry professional, but I think it would be a good idea to assign servers to specific tables, rather than just have anyone taking orders. This would help to avoid confusion and missed/mistaken orders.
In addition, the venue closes at 01.00 I am told, but at 00.30 (and even before) the staff were cleaning and packing up and generally making us feel like we were over-staying.
Some big improvements are needed.

Fantastic work Xmas party there tonight. They couldn't do enough for us. Table decorated, great view on the outside terrace, lovely food (big portions) and designed menu and drinks package based on our requests. Really impressive and checked up on us loads throughout the evening. Top notch and isn't found often any more. Thanks D&A x

English pub atmosphere with good food generally. Sunday Roast was good but beef undercooked for my taste. Portion sizes are very generous. They have a good selection of deserts too. Erin mess was yummy.

Great location and great place. However the place is not anymore the same. Food collection is quite limited for lunch, might be great for dinner but not for quick snacks. Of course it can happen that you run out of some food, but looks like not all staff is up to date. Try dinner here if you like meat, spare tips are great

Haven't been there for lunch in quite a while. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the fisherman's pie which was delicious. It was packed full of prawns and scallops. My daughter had a very large chicken and mushroom pie which was also great. My wife had a vegan option "cauliflower steak". Sounds a bit weird but she was very happy. We'll be back soon.

A lovely evening meal in a beautiful setting, completed with a view of the Burj Al Arab. Thank you for some wonderful service from your staff. Made us all most welcome.

The food is super tasty! They also have happy hour during week days. It was my partners Birthday, so they helped organise a surprise Birthday cake which was super cute. Over all the food won me over.

Not a good dining experience.

Food for vegetarians / vegans is really substandard to the point of unacceptable.

Management have said the menu is changing soon but this was way below the standard of a Jumierah hotel. This restaurant isn’t fit enough to wear the Jumierah badge let alone be inside a flagship hotel like JBH.

We ordered nachos for starters which were cafeteria basic, the veggie wellington is a beyond burger blitzed up and tastes of nothing but the beyond burger and overpowers the entire dish. We were offered a sticky toffee pudding as complementary dessert for how bad the mains were but what came out was a pretty bland cake doused in thick toffee sauce served with ice cream. Not what a sticky toffee pudding is by any stretch of the imagination.

Service: I’m sorry to say while genuinely I hate to writing a negative review on staff members, the service staff at D&H operated as if they had little training. Don’t stand at the upstairs bar on your phone during service, pay attention to the drinks you’re serving us instead of giving our table drinks which have been ordered by another table and then taking them across to them two drinks at a time. The team need to be trained to focus on the details which other restaurants across the group pride themselves on.

Amazing vibe, awesome food. Not a typical overcrowded pub. Highly recommend this spot if you want the pub feel minus the rowdy atmosphere

Food was average. Kids vegetable sticks were not kid friendly.half adults wouldn't eat it. Service was atrocious.very unattentive and was leaving plates from starters on the table after delivering mains despite their being barely any room on the table. Had to chase for a drink ordered half hour before. Won't be going back. Only positive was the Eton mess desert was very nice.

Good evening to management, i would really like you to review our experience!

We normally love our experience at the Dow and Anchor, the most resent great experience was earlier in the year, Unfortunately things seemed have changed for the worst.

It started with us walking to the restaurant at around 5: 45 to discuss the possibility of booking a table as we have children with us. The only representative was a barmen who was very dismissive and not open to discussing seating options, to the point where he said how could you book a table and if someone sits down before you arrive and then i can't tell them to move when you arrive at your booking time. If this is your frontline staff member at 5 o'clock, i suggest he attends a training course and receives an attitude adjustment as the staff are normally amazing and so helpful

We then arrived at 7, after swimming lessons at JBH and the door lady said do we have a booking, to where the lady advised our name was not on the list. My wife advised she had booked with that barmen, to where he showed a dismissive hand signal and said "they can sit anywhere". The lady later informed us he had not put our name down.

Then to the food,
we always order the curry, fish and chips and beef carvery (when available). The food tonight was not at the normal high standard, the curry was bland, the beef was bland, the gravy was bland, the roast potatoes were bland, the worst yorkshire pudding I have eaten in Dubai and the "bread" served with the curry was oily. The waiter was really good and asked how the food was as we didn't eat most of the food, we did advise the issue and we were advised they had a new chef, which was very obvious by the quality/taste of the food.

This experienced was so bad, that the whole family walked out and said we don't want to come back.

After completing my review, i have now read that multiple reviews have suggested the same, the food quality is plummeting! I suggest you do something quickly!

The place is very decent and I live nearby and so that probably makes me a local. Food is great. Service is good and the location is awesome. The reason I leave a 2 star review is because we can never get a table even though tables which are "reserved" sit empty all night. Paying customers are forced to eat while sat on stools at the bar while prime tables sit empty. Bad management. If someone doesn't turn up after 15 minutes give the table away or make people give a deposit to reserve tables. Many places do this to avoid this problem. At tap House on the palm you can't reserve a table its first come first serve. Very popular spot and you can always get a table. This is how to do it guys!

Christmas feast. Amazing service. Live music.

We had Lobster, game terrine, steak, a full turkey, honey roasted pork, all the trimmings. The head chef greeted the table and carved the meat on the table. Stunning experience.

The venue is excellent, staff were attentive in the right measure. Food was very good quality but the menu is limited in teems of choices.
I ordered a pint of Guinness, but returned it was as it was not good, a quick training course for the barstaff would be benefitial, as almost certainly the problem was due to the pouring technique rather than the product.
Regardless of the venue AED300 (£65) for 3 beers (2 at 'happy hour' prices) a burger and tip for the staff was not good value for money.

The British coast fisherman’s pie (AED130) was fantastic incorporating big chunks of salmon, cod, and prawns, in a lovely leek gravy and covered with rich mashed potatoes that is more buttery than what you’d normally find on Shepard’s pie. Topped with a bit of cheese gratin, it makes for a heavenly pie that’s simply intoxicating, in taste and aroma.

So much so that it seemed to really draw in the flies. In fact, any dish seemed to attract the pesky buggers. The fly situation at Dhow and Anchor was horrendous with a huge pack of them descending upon the table as soon as our food arrived. We had to constantly have one hand waving in front of our plates, while eating quickly, and finally using our napkin to cover the dishes before they could be whisked away.

The restaurant really needs to invest in table fans that flitter around to help keep the flies away. As it stands, the fisherman’s pie was tasty but actually ingesting the dish was frustrating and rushed. I felt like I was having fast food when the meal should be savoured. Al fresco dining can be great, but I guess that’s the perils of outdoor eating.

Visited the D&A tonight after an absence of more than a year. Disappointed to find that the recent renovations to the hotel have left the restaurant largely unchanged (in fact some renovations are still ongoing). Moreover, the restaurant has now taken all 'P' products off the menu, which means the scotch egg is now made from 'rabbit' (weird?) and 'English' breakfast offerings with proper bacon and sausage are forbidden. The manager said it was due to recent Municipality regulation changes which I know is untrue as such regulations came into effect a few years ago. Apparently 'P' products are coming back in the New Year but I remain sceptical.

Excellent pub food, good Christmas menu options and great ambiance and service too. I enjoyed the Sticky Date pudding and Nut Roast! Lorraine served us and she was fantastic, great with the menu, recommendations and a very pleasant friendly person. Will be back soon.

A lovely bar and restaurant in 'the sail', itself a great hotel. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area, or you can choose indoors and watch a variety of sports on the screens dotted around the place. This is a little subjective, but I felt that the staff could have been more attentive- unlike elsewhere we visited, I had to try to attract their attention on s number of occasions.
The food was delicious, enjoyed by everyone in our party.
A short walk outside and you get get the best photo spot for the Burj Al Arab.

We have called to check if the ladies night is on tonight, they said yes, sure. When I arrived no waiter were coming even to the table I set on, complete ignorance. The host lady was not even nice or kind, so we left to another place.

The sliders were quite tasty and the service was great. Only downside was the valet parking - my items dropped from the front seat when the car was being parked so some stuff spilled into my bag. Other than that, great place!

Wonderful bar with seafood menu good to watch football. Lovely staff were very helpfull and taken care of us. Marvelous view of Burj Al Arab from terrace.

The food isn't quite as good it used to be but the service is every bit as excellent, if not better!

Decent beer (London Pride) and overwhelmingly beautiful views of the Burj El Arab. The food is overly expensive but the lounge area is comfy and suitably Dubai.

A great place for a cosy dinner or a night out with the boys or ladies. Located in the Jumeirah Beach Resort hotel, Dubai where you can either dine in or outside depending on the weather. They also serve pork products and alcohol but be respectful to others during the month of Ramadan. A great selection on the menu of typical British fare whether you are enjoying breakfast on a Friday or a Saturday evening out with the family.

Solid British style pub, food is good, especially the roast and the views don't get much better than the Burj al Arab, a little.overpriced, but what would you expect for the location

Nice venue, but better do not go when football matches are displayed, unless you are a football enthusiast, because it becomes very noisy

Burgers come well done so expect to give your jaws a good work out. Colleague had battered fish. Portion was so huge we all got to share a few mouthfuls. Its expensive but this is Dubai and in a luxury hotel.

Great atmosphere in this authentic British pub. Good happy hour specials on food and drink between 3-7pm most days. Good menu although perhaps a little limited if you’re going more than once.

Great staff really make you feel welcome and try to be as kind and helpful as much as possible, the food is some of the best oversees british food I've ever had defiantly a reccomendation
