I had the good fortune to connect with Dr Kourie for a second opinion on my Frozen Shoulder injury. I asked him to review my MRI scan and share his observations. Dr. Kourie in my estimation went above and beyond in his report back to me. He included an orthopaedic surgeon's opinion as well as his opinion in his report back to me. I feel I know so much more about my injury now and how I had to treat it than before I went to see him for the second opinion. Happy to report, my Frozen Shoulder is history, may it never return! After almost 25 years of self discipline to exercise 7-8 hours a week to successfully fight my genetic predispoistion to many diseases (heart disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, high cholesterol and Graves disease), my recent painful injury was a very frightening setback.

However, a thorough examination with Dr Alan re affirmed my faith in the power of exercise. Having a strong fit body meant my injury was minor and with Dr Alan's advice my recovery swift. I cannot thank Dr Alan enough for his expertise and reassurance.

I would urge anyone who feels that they can do nothing but succumb to the risk factors they have for systemic illnesses like diabetes, do not underestimate the power of exercise. It has transformed my personal wellbeing and given me back control to live a full active life with my husband and three children. It is not easy to fit an hour of exercise into your life everyday (when my children were small I woke at 4.30am before they woke up!) but it is worth it. If I can do it, anyone can.
