I celebrated my daughter's 15th birthday
and it was the best choice. The whole staff were over the top with special support from the restaurant manager Mauro and his assistant, who made our experience memorable. Great food and great music by DJ Alex. All our guests were pleased with the venue and the overall atmosphere. Highly recommended for private gatherings.

We booked for Christmas brunch at El Sur, Westin starting 1p.m. I had heard a lot of good things about the food and ambience. We were joining some friends and are a family of 6. In total we were 12 people on 2 tables. Our friends reached earlier and were all served with drinks and starters by the time we came in and kept on being served throughout. It took at least 15mins to get the first drink when we came in and the food service was so slow to come that our table was empty most of the time. Everyone around was getting served even those that had reached later than us. By 4p.m, after various chasing, we still had not got our mains. My kids were hungry, and I kept complaining. We were finally served some food that was not even in the proper serving dish served directly on a plate and it looked like the food had been scraped out of the pot. I was so angry and so disgusted.

It was not only about the money, we paid nearly Aed2,000, but it was about the moment. My Mum had travelled to be with us for Christmas as well as a close family friend and it all went down the drain. Our Christmas was spoiled and after paying all this we went home hungry. The managers seem helpless to come up with a proper explanation, it seems more like ok someone must have made a mistake and there was nothing to say. One of the managers was not even apologetic.

I finally insisted for a refund which I am hoping I will receive. This is no way to spend a Christmas and not acceptable from a restaurant in a 5 Star hotel. We have been living in Dubai for 13 years and have been to a lot of brunches but never have we had such a bad and disappointing experience. I really expect to receive a formal apology from the hotel as well as a refund.

El Sur is a culinary gem that transports your taste buds to Spain. Impeccable service, an inviting ambiance, and dishes bursting with authentic flavors. The paella is a masterpiece, and the tapas selection is a delightful journey through Spanish cuisine. A 5-star experience that leaves a lasting impression.

The place is actually nice with a very good ambient and the staff is very polite. But the music is very loud so you can not speak with the people you went with. On the other hand, the food is tasteless, as a Spanish person I would not recommend this place to any Spanish friend

Very average food. Mains come with no accompaniment meaning you need to order sides. We ordered chips/fries as a side which were burnt & somehow soggy also.
Service was average not up to expectations for the rest of the Westin hotel which we love.

If you are missing a taste of paella, this is the right place to come. Tapas are also very nice. Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.

Amazing Spanish restaurant would very highly recommend. And Ana is the most welcoming, accommodating and nice manager we have ever met - would come just to be served by her

Starters were super yummy, we ordered Tuna tartar and shrimp with garlic sauce
Main dish was okay, Palella was quite average but the overall experience was good

Black rice paella was delicious with good portion for 2. Also tried a few other seafood options all lived up to expectations.

Amazing restaurant, one of my favorites in all of Dubai. A truly talented chef and attentive staff in a perfect atmosphere. If I could give El Sur six stars I would.

Food had a authentic taste. Ordered sea food, paella and sagria was good.

We went for brunch to celebrate my friend's birthday.the portions were large. The restaurant was quite full and there was live music which added value.the quality of the food is good. Once they brought her the cake, the singer approached the table to sing her happy birthday.very nice detail!

Used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Dubai but unfortunately we weren't impressed by the food yesterday evening. We went for the valentines set menu which included 3 tapas, one main and one dessert. All the food was just average, it lacked flavours, it simply didn't meet our expectations.

What a satisfactory Saturday brunch! I think I can say that this is one of the best brunches I have ever enjoyed in Dubai. Taste wise and volume wise, very much entertaining restaurant. From the tasty gazpacho to exquisite dessert in the end, every taste tasted just awesome. It goes without saying that I loved black paella with cattle fish but what I loved the beer is croquette with sweet jam. This was surprisingly delicious!

Scenic views, and good food. It has somewhat lost the edge it had years ago; perhaps the chef is different? Croquetas FTW, charcuterie is always fresh and tender. Paella could be FAR better.

Decent food and it goes well with wine. Must try their black paella. Don't look good but very tasty

Everything was great until we were served the worst and ugliest seafood paella. Hardly any seafood only 2 frozen tasting shrimps and 2 muscles, too salty and sadly made me sick all night. Ruined my night and my day! Had paella all over the world, but this one sadly unforgettable for the wrong reasons.

Brunch has plenty of food. However, they should include a selection of spanish wines to go with it.

Before I talk about the food, I would like to say that they were Covid compliant which put us at ease and helped us enjoy the evening. The culinary experience at this restaurant was a delight not to mention the great service provided. While they had many dishes to choose from, we decided to go with Tapas. While we ordered quite a few Tapas, the one that stood out for me was the Green Chili Peppers. At first, I wasn’t sure about the peppers but the moment I took the first bite I knew I was going to finish it. To close off the evening, I ordered a cappuccino which was no less than something from a very good coffee house. Overall I had a great time at this restaurant and would definitely come back.

It's been a while since we came to El Sur. We went for their Siesta Brunch and everything was perfect! The starters were undeniably great and their Paella was the best part of the experience, it was cooked with perfection! Oh, and don't forget the socarrat (toasty part at the bottom of the paella).

Very active atmosphere with Spanish vibe, good bite size food, friends staff and great ambience.

I was lucky enough to be invited for a private dinner with the Murgaca team who were in UAE for the Gulf food with their Luxury Lamb from Spain.
The Dinner was at EL Sur where chef was given the luxury lamb and he curated some of the best dishes with the precious.
The menu engages with all the five senses with visually stunning dishes, delight on the palate and aromas of Spain and promises to set a benchmark for contemporary Spanish cuisine
We started off with
Lamb Parfait with Manchego Cheese - Very Good
Lamb Jelly with Cauliflower PilPil and Mushroom Dust - Highly recommended
Lamb Croquette - The Best Totally Recommended.
Reverse Lamb Sandwich with roasted garlic cream -This was an unique dish I tried for the first time and i was so astonished with the taste.
Neck Terrain with Peas Cream and Manchego Foam - this beautifully plated dish was top notch in both looks and taste.
Baby Lamb Shoulder with Patata Panderas - The baby lamb was incrediebly tender and spruced up deliciliously.
Milky Rice - This was very good with the combination of rice and cream. LOVED IT!

The Restaurant is with terrace seating and a spacious, well-lit interior.
The atmosphere is upbeat and lively. Staff very effecient and service is very good.

Both one of the best restaurants in Dubai and one of the best Spanish restaurants have been to anywhere - including Spain. The dishes always taste better than they sound, and they sound fantastic. Particular favorites are the arroz negro, roast pork, and croquettes. Surprisingly child friendly as well.

Spanish Tapas! It is so difficult to find proper Spanish tapas but El Sur really do it justice. Fantastic environment and delicious food, would highly recommend.

Apart from being a good place to eat Spanish tapas and enjoy the atmosphere.you expect that being in a five star hotel; you will get a five star treatment; but that us surely not going to be the case if you have to talk to the bar tender who us absolutely rude person, lacking discipline, courtesy and proper training by the restaurant management.the person I refer to looked my friend in the eye when he was complaining about the quality of his drink and didn't even apologize once but waited until my friend returned his vodka half filled glass and he poured vodka in the empty half of the glass carelessly with a mockery smile on his face and told him drink this now. I guess this attitude reflects quality of the place and takes a lot from the food side of it.indeed a very potentially good experience made so bad by the action of one person.

Amazing apart from the chicken dish a bit over done and flavour wasn't great.fantastic service and great setting rest of the tapas was lovely!

We went for the Sat brunch and it was an amazing deal, especially with the entertainer voucher. Good selection of food, brought out a la carte style. The only disappointment was tha you could not order more of the dishes you liked, which is usually the norm at most brunches.

Visited this restaurant with a couple friends. It was quite late and we were the only dining guests at the time. We sat on the outdoor balcony which was beautiful.

Croquetas (prawn) - Yum and will order again
Patatas Bravas - Nice but could have skipped
Garlic and Chili Prawns - Great but non memorable
El Sur Black Rice with Calamari and cuttlefish - YUM YUM. The Standout Star here!
Prime Beef Rib Eye - Great but not memorable
Sangria - Meh. Not worth the 150 a jug!

Value For Money - this was about dhs700 for 3 ppl. So quite an expensive dinner for a casual night out but they're on the Entertainer which helps. The quality of food is pretty high end.

Service - Reception was great. However, our waiter didnt really seem eager to see us there as we were last order of the night. He did his job but needs a lot of training to be up to the standard of quality of the food and ambience. He was quite abrupt and never asked how we enjoyed the food or if we needed anything. Food was quick and exactly what we ordered so that was great.

Conclusion - expensive but the food and ambience are worth it even with the improvements needed on service. More of a date night venue than a night out with friends but hey maybe your friends are different. Overall, probably the best Spanish food I've had in the UAE and I'm very likely to return.

The Saturday brunch was average. The tapas were good but the Paella was OK. The ambience too was dull. Could improve on the music to make it a more lively afternoon.

One of (if not the) best Spanish restaurants in Dubai. Great tapas, good selection of win. Super nice atmosphere. Only two downsides: Noise from Barasti club near by and overall value for money (or lack thereof).

I attended the brunch on Saturday, due to the company being great the day was lovely. However the food was below average. The tapas starters were very basic. The paella lacked flavor and the servings were not adequate for a party of 20. I actually only ended up getting rice.no meat or seafood
I already had to keep asking the staff for more drinks so after two hours I was fed up of having to ask for something else, so I just accepted paying 320aed for some rice.

Came again and was extremely disappointed not like it use to be the staff is zero pitty that there is no minus stars because this what the place deserve now. Poor food and quality. Sticky tables. Furnitures needs to be changed too old and they smell strange.

Attentative service, superb food albeit slightly privy, but then again, that is what Dubai has becom.

Casual vibe and delicious food. We had an assortment of tapas and sangria, some of which were recommended by the friendly staff. The food is a bit pricey though, but still worth it and good for a weekday dinner.

Located at the Westin, I expected much better interior.the entrance deco was below average. It was an ok experience. But I appreciate the staffs hospitality, because I watched one staff explaining every dishes and drinks in the menu to a customer very politely and patiently. Bt as for me it’s not worth a second visit.

Horrible customer service. The first thing the waiter ask you when he comes to your table is if you are going to use discount vouchers (e.g. The Entertainer). If you happen to be planing to use them, they treat you very badly and try to make up ridiculous excuses for refusing to accept the vouchers.

The manager is even worse than the waiters in terms of customer service. The manager is very rude and unwilling to try to solve any problem.

It used to be a good place with very good food and excellent customer service. After new management took over, it has gone down hill.

I was invited for a business dinner last night, so I chose The Westin since I never been there. “They have El Sur”, so I thought will hv Paella.
We were seated right away, no buffet only á la carte. Spotted the Rice with mushroom and truffles and it was superbe. Another appetizer (47 aed) was a small jar with maybe 5 big spanish green olives, but they never scrimped on the bread and olive oil to dip. Or main, they had chicken paella, no seafood one but the chef prepared one for us (looked and tasted Catalan not Spanish). When ordered dessert I wanted to try the Caramelized Brioche with Lemon Ice cream, the ice cream was wonderfully tart but the brioche could take more caramelization.
Because the table service was not as expected (even though the waiter tried hard to please), the manager made up for it by offering a second dessert and I opted for more of the ice cream. That wiped off all the shortcomings to make our meet memorable.
One thing to note is that this is a bar-restaurant with the smoke smelled before you enter, and is noisy.

Used to be one of my favorite place in Dubai, I came back yesterday, I was shocked:
- food was hot outside and still cold inside.
- happy hour plinth was not available so they serve you a bottle for the same price.
- staff acts like robots.
Great location and great concept, shame to see it spoiled like that.

I loved the Friday fun brunch. The tapas is just amazing! And there is so much of it. It keeps coming. All mouth watering delicacies one after the other. We had an amazing time. I super recommend it for the food, the friendly staff and awesome Manager.

People are judged by the clothes they wear and color of skin. Very unusual in a cosmopolitan like Dubai. The manager there does not meet international standards.

Very bad friday brunch.it was horrible.first time i left friday brunch hungry.they don’t have buffet table, they bring random foods to each table (the idea is nice) but it was not enough food at all.no main course or anything.dessert was only two kinds.also nothing tasty.poor paella.very big disappointment.never ever again.
