Amazing school it’s really modern and up to date because it has robots, coding, drones, and more that the students get to use! Most of the bad reviews are from the old campus when the school used to be pretty small.

My daughter started at DAA couple of days ago so can't comment yet on the quality of education or my child's experience. I'll update the review at a later date to include more details. So far I have observed the following:
Drop offs and pick ups are a nightmare. We didn't plan two hours a day to get our daughter to and from school that's 5 min from where we live. The traffic is awful as they only planned one tiny access road for a 3000 people school and a massive hospital right next to it. Both my husband and I need to go for drop offs and pick ups in order for one person to stay in the car stuck somewhere near the school while the other person goes to get the kid. It's beyond ridiculous. Given that Dubai is a new city and neither the school nor the hospital have been there for 500 years, I am not sure how they allowed for this poor traffic planning.
Second, we were instructed in one of the many letters we received prior to the school start to get registered with the Slices cafeteria and book meals for kids. After several unsuccessful attempts, writing emails, filing tickets etc, the receptionist at DAA (not terribly kind either) tells us that their site doesn't work yet. It would have been nice to know that in advance to avoid calling and writing emails. Also, why are they not open? Were they surprised that the school started last week of August? They mentioned a website upgrade, which I would expect them to do over the two months kids are out of school.
Thirdly, school uniforms are compulsory and again, it's difficult to get an appointment with a monopolist that sells them. Once we bought them, we found them to be 100% polyester at a premium price.
The school's payment system doesn't update correctly and doesn't reflect the deposit we paid months ago, thus asking for more money than needed when paying tuition. Lots of communication and lengthy emails going out to parents before school start, could have streamlined a bit.
The classroom seems small and very basic, with wooden benches. Transitioning from a nursery environment where kids had plenty of creative and fun space to move around, I am not thrilled my child will be seated there for hours, but let's see how it goes
If they don't do something about the traffic situation and food, we may not continue with them next semester. Given the size of the property, sports and science facilities, this may be a better choice for older kids, not kindergarten age.

Overall it is a good school.there are many ups and downs throughout the year, but at the end of it, i think my child can excel at this school.

The students here are very mean, i visited the school (i was thinking of enrolling) this one student named sury moondrah slapped me on the back of my head for no reason and proceeded to tell me i am too poor to attend dubai american academy and that it is "his school" and proceeded to swear me down

I love the school and really enjoy representing the leopards team in many different sports throughout the year. Since I moved to the school it has been a great experience, but when a group of students were showing great amounts of interest in a sports team that DAA doesn't offer we were let down by the leadership of the school. All Mesac school are competing in Folk-style wrestling in season 2, and these schools would show up to competitions with maybe 5-6 guys in their first season but that didn't stop them. I know for a fact that DAA could easily have started a wrestling team that students have been pushing for 2 years with a coach available, and everything sorted out but still got denied. This is really embarrassing as this shows 0 student empowerment and is crushing the students that are trying to be leaders for change.

All the kids in the school told my little sister that "Whales are supposed to be on the Ocean, not land". This school is extremely overpriced as well, save money I'm warning you because our lives have been better after leaving.

It's extremely overrated, instead of going to DAA, get some one-way plane tickets to America, and enroll them into some public school, because anything at this point is better than DAA. What I really hate is that they grab your attention with all these fancy looking robots and that you're gonna be using so much advanced tech here. But the only advanced tech you're gonna be using here is your laptop that was handed down to you by your dad.

Gems Dubai American Academy Does not meet the requirement to be an outstanding school due to some problems that parents and student are concerned about, Firstly, Teachers at DAA are too abusive towards their students, Teachers don't try to help improve student academic weaknesses, Teachers would rather delete your Whole essay then give areas of improvements and that doesn't help students at all, The school's Administration does noting to support a bullied Students and as I am a student i have noticed that most of the kids at school don't feel safe, Parents are concerned that the school's fees are well over-priced due to lots of days off, As a student I have the right to stand up for myself and to become support the school's education system to better improve the learning environment, According to parent from the previous school (Gems Nations academy), Although the school fees were 12% more than DAA annual fess, They have provided an excellent education system and brought joy to all students, The only thing I can say something great about DAA is that they offer international and local trips to student, Here are some trips they have offered,
1. Stay fit (Local)
2. U. A. E living (LOCAL)
3. Hatta Fort (LOCAL)
4. Padi Diving (LOCAL)
5. ES/PS volunteering (LOCAL)
6. Nepal (International)
7. Cambodia (International)
8. Sri Lanka (International)
9. Tanzania (International)
10. Switzerland (International)
11. Silicon Valley (International)

I really advise the school's administration to take strict action towards the education system.

Thank you

Dubai American Academy has been a second home to my daughters and I for a very long time. As a parent, I have had the absolute pleasure of watching my daughters flourish into independent learners who do not shy away from challenges. Thanks to their fabulous teachers, my children take risks and solve social and academic problems with ease. GO Leopards!

Outstanding school: one of the few schools to be rated “outstanding” each year. Wonderful
IB programme and results. Forward thinking and creative students who embody and live a culture of kindness. Professional and highly experienced staff and consistent dynamic school leaders. Terrific arts programs as well as sports and after school activities. The campus is one of the best I’ve ever seen in any place. One of the best schools in the UAE without a doubt.

My daughter, husband and I have been at DAA for 10 years. It is a close-knit community with dedicated teachers and so many different activities to be a part of. Students have the opportunity to be part of so many events that really help shape the whole-child.

As a student in DAA (Dubai American Academy) I dare you to never come to this school. I am also definitely moving school. Teachers never listens to students. One day there was a teacher who said "Shut up" to one of the student. Also, whenever there is a substitute teachers doesn't inform much informations to them which cause students to just play. I am in middle school, but we still do swimming with girls and boys. Moreover, the lockers are also a mess. There are top lockers and the students who are not that tall barely reaches by tip toes. There are lockers that are broken and the locker locks are too hard to open. Every beginning of the year students couldn't open the locks and the teachers were almost teasing us why we cannot open them. Additionally, on the beginning of the year we got our schedules, but nobody could read them even the teachers. The school changed our schedules for almost 3 times which we spend our 3 weeks of school doing nothing. If you are trying to come here I would not really recommend.

I have transferred my kids before the year end. Couldn’t wait any longer. Very disappointed with this school. In Dubai you can find a lot better schools.

I am a staff in this school, and i can see that this school has really bad education and activities and everything.
The educations, it sucks. Mrs. **eth** said Shut up and some really bad words to this whole class. I used to be the substitute of this class. It is so bad.

This is the worst school in Dubai.you should never come here. Last year a teacher pushed a kid and dragged him around. The teachers don’t know how to teach and when khda comes they get you ready 2 days before so that they get a good rating. Not worth it for the price
1. Crowded
2. Hectic
3. Overrated

I have been in this school for 6 years and nothing has let me down this school is big on the pillars of kindness, is fair, had really good curriculum, the teachers care for the kids and they keep a well drawn balance on education and specials like music art PE robotics and etc
