Grand Excelsior Hotel Al Barsha

I am frustrated because of one thing which happened in this entire 7 nights I stayed here (mind it i bave been hotel living for last 1 month) - They have a speaker system like a radio in the toilet with a volume knob to control volume in the damn toilet (attached pics and video) This woke me up early morning at 6 am with loud Arabic music. No one at the time of duty did know anything about this. I know thus is crazy.

This is the worst hotel ever in my experience. There is too much noise. The staff is also very deceptive. When I check, I see that the water kettle is broken. Then I call them for a new water kettle. They did not reply to me on the same day. I forgot. And I call them again two days later for a water kittle
Then after some time Two Person come from House Keeping. They wanna see the kittle, and I showed them the water kittle.after 30 minutes, i received a call from reception. They added 100 Aed penalty in my expensive for water kittle. I see the water kittle Price on amazon. The same one was only 25 Aed. Don't go there for your vacation.if you are stuck there, then you will can't enjoy your vacation. Totally scam

We had suit room, and yeah it's big and supposed to be cool, but no.
. It was dirty.smell very bad, staff is very old.and broken. Cleaning services is ugly. Half of sockets didn't work, room in the evening very dark, coz of bad light.ventilation very bad also.we tried to refund and change hotel but such option wasn't available.so we continue our unpleasant staying there.btw very noisy from clubs down and stuff is not friendly at all.honestly don't recommend this hotel at all

The filipina receptionist is great and accommodated us with my stay here as well as the housekeeping boy named Abhijit Shanavaj for keeping our room tidy all the time.

So i called around 5 AM asked if there is any available rooms, the phone operator answered yeah we have and its for 165AED i answered with please hold the room for me im on my way and he was like sure sir. Arrived after 15 minutes to find out that there is no more rooms left and he offered me a suite for 350AED. I got frustrated by what happened but i was also too tired to argue after a long night so i took the room. Went up to take a shower and there was no ropes or slippers so i called the room service waited them for a whole hour and called a couple of times to remind them but for sure there was no answer. Eventually i slept without showering duo to exhaustion. Thankfully the ropes arrived after i woke up and called them. So yeah to sum it up it was a bad experience and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience at the grand excelsior hotel al Barsha. Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the reservation staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues!

The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. And specially Thanks to Mr Imran from reservation department.

I have previously written a detailed review on my experience during my stay. Today I am writing to commend the staff who made my stay pleasant. Adnan, Babur Raj, Jewell and Jeffrey were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way for all guests and are crucial to the hotel for maintaining a 4 star experience.

The room as not smelling good, it's like old and closed smell. Cheiro meio que de mofo.
But the room cool, the frigobar was not working well, the toilet was cool too

Breakfast is so so.
But, not many shops and restaurants around.

فندق مصنف 4 نجوم وسعره عالي ولكن انا بصراحة أصنفه نجمتين وزيادة عليه اولاً الاثاث قديم جداً جداً ويحتاج الى تجديد ثانياً المخدات والحاف والبطانيات وسفنجة السرير منتهية الصلاحية قديمة جداً ولا ترتقي بفنق بمستوى 4 نجوم للاسف ثالثاً يوجد دسكو (نايت كلب) مزعج جدا ولا تستطيع النوم ليلاً وغير مناسب للعوائل المحافظة رابعاً الكنب الموجود في الغرفة معدوم ومتسخ بشكل مقزز خامساً لايوجد مناشف في الحمامات وعند الطلب منهم يحضروها لمرة واحدة فقط ولا يتم تغيرها لمدة اقامتك في كل يوم حتى عند الطلب موظف الاستقبال المصري / اخلاقه في طرف خشمه من وقت الدخول وتسجيل الدخول في الفندق الى وقت الخروج جلست 3 ايام اذا احتجت شي من الاستقبال وجيته يحسسني انه دافع لي رسوم اقامتي في الفندق غير مهذب وغير محترم ولا يليق له العمل في فندق بهاذا المستوى بصراحة كانت تجربة سيئة جدا في هاذا الفندق ويوجد في دبي ومنطقة البرشا خيارات اخرى افضل من هاذا المكان بكثير المدخل والديكور جميل لكن الغرف والمضمون سيئة للأسف وانا بصراحة لا انصح السكن في هاذا الفندق من الاخرررر كانت تجربة مئساوية لن تتكرر باذن الله

Good and economical place. The best part is, it is close to Mall of the Emirates and Metro Station.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed.
Like mamy others have commented they do have an issue with towels. Towels are not provided when you checkin and have to wait a few hours and after multiple calls you will get some towels.
The rooms are not that clean as well.
Irons are not provided and even if provided in request they are quicker to take it away from the room than make it available.
This is on top of the constant bar fights happening on their bar downstairs.
The rooms and bathrooms of course are very spacious which was one of the few good things.
Overall the place doesn't feel safe.

The worst experience I ever had on my life
I entered my room there where no towels, only one mug and we where two, however I called them 5 times and since like 2 hours ago and we still get nothing, I don’t know what kind of service they provide those guys

Had a bad experience. Few points to note
1) requested and paid for extra bed while booking through Agoda, but the receptionist was not aware (or don't want be aware). Had to follow up twice to get it arranged

2) booked a non-smoking room, but the room was having tobacco odour. On informing the condition, no action was taken. At least a room spray could be done.

3) towels were of shortage. Had to request for 3, but received 1.4) cupboards, windows, curtain rods, etc were old and needs maintenance.

We went on a peak time during weekend and it was Expo time. May be the hotel is short of manpower or not equiped to handle large number of customers.

The rooms were okay the crowd that comes to the night club below wasn't that great.had issues with towels when we checked in where we didn't get any for quite a long while. Could actually do a lot better when it comes to customer care and management of resources as well. But on a positive note the staff was friendly

Good services, nice staff specially Mr. Nasir he has been very helpful and he gave us a free upgrade. Room is so elegant and classy! We surely enjoyed our stay! I am now missing the place and i will return again.

The room is good it's spacious, but the facilities is bad no towel, when I ask for fridge the response is not acceptable the reception response that they give fridge only for those who stay long in hotel even we booked for 2 days so disappointed and the towel is too old need to change it. What a bad experience on the 1st day of my stay.

Many guest complained about the rooms being dirty upon check in, over all hotel is OK not bad. I am guessing they are short of staff due to Corona issues

Very bad stay, too much noise coming out of the club, couldn’t sleep at all
It is very disgusting, dirty, mold in the shower, required a full renovation, very noisy night club downstairs with a loud music over an entire night, dust is everywhere and very hard to breath. Furniture is awfull.

I don’t think that they deserve any stars.

Not the same rooms as i booked, AC not working, they not changing the used towels after cleaning up, noise every night form there Nclub.

*0 STARS, STINKY. It is very disgusting, dirty, mold in the shower, required a full renovation, very noisy night club downstairs with a loud music over an entire night,  located far from all of the desired and well equipped  beaches. Window is never open, dust is everywhere and very hard to breath. Furniture is awfull, screeched everywhere, pillows as stones, old linens. Shower’s towels are very old and dirty.

A shuttle transfer goes to the worsest beach, no umbrellas or facilities, shuttle is very small, dirty and does not take all of the tourists, in spite the facts, of having the tickets. The manager is very meany and rude, does not provide a breakfast If you have an earlier departure, requires a phone call payment for contacting a local travel agent. Breakfast is very poor with no options: no fruits, fish or meat.   A swimming pool is absolutely awful, dirty and very small.

It is located far from Metro and transportation.

It is definitely the worsest travel experience ever, WASTED MONEY, DESSAPOINTED

-Everything in the room seemed to have been falling apart. The wardrobe door came off, lights went out, the doorbell didn't work and I got locked inside the bathroom.
-Requested the hotel to fix these things. The mechanics barged into the room with their access key without knocking, assuming no one is inside. That is extremely unacceptable. Moreover, while they were fixing the lights, I told them to take to do bathroom door later as someone was taking a shower inside. But they seemed to have not heard that at all and started opening the bathroom door! Luckily it was locked from inside. Horrific experience!
-The pool is not heated, has no view and the pool area is substandard.
-The breakfast is decent, but repetitive, it's the same things everyday. And not too many options for vegetarians.
-Hotel is too far from the metro (mall of emirates) to walk. But other centrally located for Burj Al Arab, desert safari and miracle garden.

Very Nice place to stay. Good Service. Room size is large. Amenities provided are really grand like it's name. Overall very good experience.

Awesome experience. Rooms are spacious giving a luxury look and a relaxed ambiance. Located well within the vicinity of Mall of Emirates which gives routes to other locations as well. I must commend the travel and tours desk as well that had been really helpful for guidance and tours arrangement. Highly recommended.
