Loved the ambience, kids had a great time. And me too had super fun playing games after a long time.

The idea of the place is bad, the two guys who run the place are rude, not nice i wont come back just cause these guys are there

Came to Hive to kill time as we checked out of our hotel and had an evening flight. Great location and amazing staff. They were helpful and introduced us to a lot of fun games and taught us how to play them! We spent two hours and time flew by, would have loved to stay longer but the couldn’t justify paying more. We paid 50 dirhams (2 people) for two hours. A coke will set you back 14 dirhams as well as a ginger beer (14 dirhams). It’s the perfect place to meet friends or kill time so would definitely recommend it.

Nice place to hangout with kids away from electronic devices.
Prices bit expensive, also they charge for kids under 3 years

Very nice place if you like board games. There are plenty of games, food is average but service is great. People working there are super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there. We will be back.

Nice place, good decor but very crowded and the seats were very uncomfortable (esp the metal chairs). I had to ask 4 different staff members to change my seat to others that were clearly available.

If you love board games, this is great place. Lovely ppl, wide selection of board games, I always have lots of fun going there.

Loved every minute. The staff are super helpful and friendly, they were able to explain some very complicated games in a very easy and clear manner. The food and the drinks come in good portions to share and its really good. I recommend the pizzas. Finally, the vibe of the place itself is really nice, the design is really cool.

This is a lovely store tucked away in Barsha Heights. Lots of board game options, pleasant staff, high tech food ordering, and great decor.

Played two new games: P for Pizza and Taco Cat

Admittedly simple and fun games to play to get your mind off things. Would recommend this to get away from the bustling life.

Went for the Peri Peri Popcorn which had a nice heat to it. Followed that with a thick Avocado Smoothie while the SO went for a Chicken Burger. The latter was a messy affair so ended up eating it deconstructed. Still good though

Nice place. The staff are very helpful and patient to teach us how to play the games! Highly recommended!

Nice cafe with a wide variety of board games.

A gamemaster recommended interesting strategy games based on our interests and spent a lot of time explaining the rules and getting us started on two different games.

Also nice coffee and food.

The place has a super chill vibe, the game masters are quite helpful too and there’s an excitingly huge variety of games! But Its a bit noisy so I wouldn’t recommend if noise levels are a problem for you. In my opinion the food is overpriced but the quality of the food is good. If you don’t intend on spending money on food, the place can be considered quite affordable. Overall its perfect for hanging out with your friends and family!

Place is amazing, the staff are very friendly, the toilets are outside and quiet small, they will stamp your parking tickets but somehow you always stay longer and have to pay at least 10aed. Kids everywhere so get ready for some noise.

This was my first ever experience in a board game cafe and I was amazed by the idea of it. I loved the experience! They have a number of games which were all new to us. They have game masters who walks around the tables to help with the games who btw are super friendly! Me and my friends had a wonderful experience here and we are all totally in love with the place! Although the food is a little pricey which given the location and the ambience makes sense.

A nice little spot to play board games with friends or to work / study. They have hundreds of different board games and are quick to recommend a suitable game depending on the number of players. We also had coffee and chicken Tikka sandwich, and it was enjoyable although the prep time was somewhat long. They charge 25 dirhams per person per hour during the weekdays and 30 dirhams in the weekend. The wifi is free and plenty of space for parking.
I like in particular their cozy atmosphere and the variety of games. I'll definitely go back with a group of friends for board game nights and fun time.

The venue and staff were good. We ordered 4 smoothies, it tasted sooo bad and warm. So expensive and it was not worthy at all! It was summer and we were hoping to drink something refreshing but they served a warm juice!

A great place to spend an evening. It seemed to be quite popular so would recommend reserving a table based on your group size. We played quite a few interesting and quick games. The staff very patiently explain the rules of the game each time. We played Machi Koro (a strategy game quite like Monopoly) ; Geistes, Zilch and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza were good fun!

Hive cafe is a great place! The food there is cooked perfectly and they have a awesome menu and they have some of the best board games so I spent almost my whole day there because it was a blast I went with my fam! DEFINITELY recommend

If there was -5, would’ve given it, the booking guy acted like he owned the cafe and didn’t allow us a table even when he had booking

We reserved and came bit late, the stuff did not give us table to play. Worst service experienced. Better to go other places with better customer service.

I have gone to Hive, multiple times! Over 10 times probably and I will tell you the positives and the negatives.

The positives are the amount of games they have to play. There is so many games that you can sit there for probably a whole week straight and still you will not finish all the games they have.

The price for what you are getting is also amazing!

The staff there are very knowledgable and try really hard to find a game that you would like to play and will explain all the rules. Everytime we have been there we have played a different game that I had never even heard of in my live.

The negatives are purely one aspect.their food. Their food is really not good at all. I suggest you only stick to the fries, chicken popcorn and mozarella sticks. Everything else is not tasty, gives you stomach problems afterwards (specially the pizza), and it makes it more difficult to sit down and enjoy the rest of your time there as you are struggling with stomach pain.

I usually would not drop 2 stars because of one negative, however I think they really have to rethink their menu. All thetimes I have gone there I have come back home with stomach pain and each time I have ordered something different.

Did not fancy the staff’s attitude. A better alternative to this is UNWIND. Don’t waste your time.

Its busy, fine; but customer interaction experience was horrible.

Don’t attempt to come to this place. The service is lousy, the waiter would rather have empty comfortable chairs than provide comfort to paying customers. They charge for 2-year olds as gamers, even if they are just roaming around. The food and drinks are lousy.

To start with the ambience was amazing had a wonderful time with my friends sunny was a really friendly guy explained the games to us beautifully couldn't ask for a better experience the food was also awesome would recommend visiting to everything

We had our "Christmas Party" at Hive Board Cafe yesterday we were 17 pax total and we all took the 80 aed unlimited food and board games.

I was the organizer of our party and although it went well, i was disappointed with the service. We were 17 pax initially the appetizers came and served 1 by 1.2 plates at a time.of course it will be finished in just a matter of seconds knowing we were 17 people to share.good thing all of us are engaged and having fun playing monopoly.we called the curly hair waitress to send more fries and nachos and ask others for their drinks coz no one came to ask for all who just recently came but this waitress is unwilling to serve.she was sitting at one of the tables near us and we called her many times and when she came, she asked other waiter to serve us.

Another disappointment is that we didn't had our dessert which is included in the 80 aed.no one from the staff asked us if we wanted it tp be served as the 2hrs is nearly finished.

Worst thing is what they told us on the last minute is that if we want to order anything else we just had few pizza's and not to mention it came very slow!

We finished the exchange gifts and the pizza came. Our party is over and yet they did not allow us to take it home.it took long time to come, no one asked for desert to be served, stubborn and inattentive staff. Very Very Poor service experience.

We could have just played monopoly in our office and order fries and it will not cost us 80 aed per head!

It was a cool hangout place you can play games with your family and friends and also order some snack bites. I would definitely go again.

I'm not recommending it if you want to play your own games, decor is too dark.customers are not their periotiters

The food is really good. And our server Sani is really accommodating. The place is so cool. We weren't able to play games since it's late already. But we'll definitely go back.

Hive had a fun vibe and the game masters we're very sarcastic if its not your sense of humor you might be a little offended.

The food was average they didn't really have any beef its mostly chicken like the burger.the burger buns were stale but the fries we're crispy.the pasta was okay.

The one i recommend is the mushroom toast! It taste very nice and i love the combination of the sauce on the toasted bread.

We enjoyed the game called Ubongo its a puzzle game and its very fun and can get pretty competitive.

We also enjoyed the game called Team3 where you work together to build a structure with shapes while one of you with the instructions to build is mute and one of you have to translate and instruct the blind who will be building the structure.

You can book a table and they're open until late so i recommend if you're near the area.

Nice place for a family or friends to play boardgames, get off of screen, spend time together and eat. Not really hygienic with covid though, assuming little kids touch the boardgames and drop food on them. Some parts were missing from some of the boardgames which was inconvenient.

Nice collection of games. Service can be improved by getting 3-4 games of same category and letting the guests choose. Food was very good

Hive Board Game cafe is a cool place to be at. Apart from the books which caught my eyes first, I have noticed board games stacked on top of each other, forming a pile on the shelves. Literally, it has lots of board games to play with friends and colleagues. One of its staff cheerfully taught us how to play the game, Onitama. The game is very easy to learn. Also, the cafe is spacious with its eye-catching industrial-style interior. Exposed pipes and ceiling beams, metal chairs and weathered wood dining tables, and bricked walls add up to its modern aesthetics. I should have found this place earlier so I could have made it my work-from-cafe options during pandemic. The place is hyped by millenials who feel nostalgic over conventional board games.

I like the environment of the area and the concept of playing board games and eating. The place is affordable and not too expensive. But it would be great if the kitchen was covered up as all the smoke goes all around the place.

Overall had a kind of good time but the food is low-key overpriced, some of the game pieces are missing, the games are dirty, had a weird smell, and at the end my friends and I found a cricket on the floor
