Magrudy's Jumeriah

Even though some newer book giants have made a name for themselves and become entrenched in mega malls, there's something different about Magrudy's, Dubai's OG neighbourhood bookstore.

What I loved about the Jumeirah branch is the staff. They asked me what I wanted, and suggested excellent stuff from their collection.

What's more, my favourite author's book had released earlier this year and I checked in most other big bookstores, including the one at Dubai Mall. None of them had received any yet, and told me to wait until October.

Then I went to Magrudy's Jumeirah, and THEY HAD IT!:)

Not what it used to be in the good old days. Many items missing for an "arts & crafts" shop. Clueless staff. But it always brings up nice memories.

I expect more from a bookstore that's been around for so long - the sci-fi section is haphazardly thrown in with fantasy - and key authors are missing. This is an important section for all ages, especially for middle and high school age kids.

Oh I love this bookshop. The staff are amazing very helpful especially when you are looking for specific reference book they are patient and never give up till they find it for you and guide you for more options.

This place is all about nostalgia to me. Great section for stationary and crafts/arts supplies. Books section is remarkable as well.

I absolutely love Maghrudy Jumeirah. Wonderful collection of books n stationery a whole separate section. Spoilt for choices. The staff takes the extra initiative to akways find my books on rack, in other stores n even to the extent of ordering from UK if needed (especially school textbooks). Wonderful wonderful service. Highly recommend it to book lovers, hobby lovers and school goers.

The shop had different varieties of books. And the salesman was very helpful and determined to get me the book I want! Great service!

Coming here gives me Nostalgic and I like the quite atmosphere I purchased Tintin and book for my little Son.

Easily accessible. Parking is available at the side. Staff are courteous and helpful. Books aisles are comfortably spaced on the 1st floor which is accessible via steps only. There is games and toys shop on the ground floor. Bang opposite that shop is another outlet of theirs that houses stationary items. Just a few steps away. Well lit and spaced - all on the ground floor.

One of the oldest shops in dubai. Seen this place since I was a kid and used to buy books, stationery and toys from here. Still one of the best places for you books and stationery and now also has uniforms added for schools.

Good solid bookstore. I wish the range of books was more extended as the emphasis seems to be on best sellers. I wish there were more of a seating area to have the time to inspect the books. The service is excellent and the staff are very knowledge and helpful. They go out of their way to look in the system for missing books and latest releases. All in all, it is a good place to visit.

Mostly all the books i wanted i found them in Magrudy's. I think its among the best book stores in dubai

Staff are very polite, they are well stocked and have a nice gift card section. I was looking for an alternative now that Hallmark has closed.

Only reminds me of good old times, late 1990’s, visiting the shop regularly with our kids then.

Magrudy’s is a big bookstore that has all types of books. But my personal experience I couldn’t find the textbooks I needed as they sell out fast at the beginning of the year.so my only recommendation is to go and reserve your books early on in the year.

They have good quality of stationery, books and study materials located next to Mercato Mall Jumeirah

One of the oldest English bookstores. The shopping complex in Jumeirah is very nice, it includes a stationary and toys sections.

It's one if the biggest bookstores in Dubai with a range of books on various fields and authors, the bookstore is well organized and the arrangement allows for the display of books in a way that is easier to spot what you might be looking for or just explore what is their.

A nice Book store which usually has what ever you need in terms of books and stationary items. The Staff here is quiet friendly and they really help you get what you want. They even helped me go extra mile to arrange what I needed on special orders.

Was given a 200 AED gift voucher and then the shop near me closed. I visited this store a couple times and was never able to find anything to buy. I discovered the vouchers unused and they were expired by two months and Magrudy's management refused to honor the credit. They have poor selection and poor customer service. To not honor store credit in this way is bad business, I will never buy anything from Magrudy's again.

Simply the best bookshop to buy books for reading and for school and stationery. There is a good toys selection on the ground floor. The first floor is divided in two main sections, one for adults and one for kids. It is very easy to navigate the isles and the staff is always very helpful to assist you to find the book you are looking for!

I loved the whole place with it's book store and the atmosphere and caredours and Gerrard coffee shop where you can sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or cuppacheno wile reading your new book which you just bought from Magrudy book store

Huge collection of books and toys. Great service by staff. They are very humble and helpful. So many toys options for toddlers.

It is always packed with nice books. The atmosphere inspires you to read. The reading area for kids is amazing. One would wish he is a kid again!

My favorite bookstore! I always go to this place to buy books and also a lot of gift ideas. Place is clean and quiet and staff are very nice and helpful.

A wonderful book shop cum fair is a perfect place to find a wide range of fictional and non fiction books, stationary, gifts and stuff. You can find variety of Penguin published books and expensive artefacts. Once in a while they hold stupendous book fair where you would be tempted to buy every thing as is its charm. Don't wait, visit the place!

Book lovers place. Just love the place, the staffs too soo helpful and pleasant. Magrudys conduct so many workshops for kids that shudnt be missed.

They have the books, it’s around 8-10% more expensive than other retailers in dubai and around 30% more expensive than amazon. Plus, buying from the shop is more expensive than buying online (which I find weird as by picking the book from the store you save them the shipping cost).

Excellent bookstore choices, great prices. Business doesn't seem to be going well unfortunately.

Went there for the 2 day warehouse sale.
Pro: discounted prices were good (ex. Was 65 dhs down to 10 dhs).
Con: books category not labeled. You have to go through all and if you got lucky you might find an interesting book.

A place with a history and reputation. Tucked away from the street, this place is a favorite amongst the long standing Local Community. Try the 3-Color drink!
