Almost the items whichever I tried from them not yet disappointed at all.

Food was very authentic, was a waiting line, so would suggest a prior booking, had dosa, idli, vada and filter coffee, was worth the wait.

Food was good though didn't meet the expectations but it's eatable. Means if you are hungry you can eat but not a place to satisfy your craving for South Indian food.

Nice South Indian Restaurant in Street-1, Discovery Gardens. Place was super tidy. Good South Indian filter Coffee. In addition to Idly, Dosa, Snacks, they are serving meals (Thali) for lunch, and dinner. That's the BEST SOUTH INDIAN MEALS I had in the recent times. Good Service.

Yet another vegetarian restaurant in Discovery Gardens. I love their Kanji (Rice porridge). The place is a little congested for dine-in. At weekends they get busy, and food delivery will take time.

It feels like you are eating from your mom's kitchen at this outlet. The dishes are very authentic, freshly prepared, served piping hot and all accompaniments. The secret behind their "spicy" Mysore masala dosai is - wasabi. It's just a hint that you may or may not decode it unless you have experienced wasabi before. I am going with 4-stars only and only because, the ambiance was found wanting, the space is very limited and not really kids friendly seating arrangement.

Quality is not upto the mark. Don't know the reason but this restaurant was much better before few months

Gone down 2stars, as they no longer do direct delivery, only through zomato, step in the wrong direction. Delivery takes time and rates are higher.

Service was as fast as Saarangaa and taste was also comparable. For a change, you can try them!

Been twice here on weekends.
Have tried masala dosa, rawa ghee onion masala dosa, vada and chai here. Rawa dosa is a must-have as it is crunchy and non-spicy with rich ghee aroma. Sambhar’s taste is also amazing. They serve chai with a flat bowl, just like the south Indian tea is served.
Loved how they present their story in the paper placemats.
Fridays are little crowded and the price charged is worth the food.

Mami’s Illam, located in Discovery Gardens is the perfect place for a wholesome South Indian breakfast. Totally in love with the homely food they served- no oil dripping dosas/vadas; hence you don’t feel heavy and bloated.
Carrot onion uthappam is a must try.
Min idlis dipped in sambhar was perfect!
Mysore masala dosa was spicy, loved it.
Vada was good as well.
Yes, their interiors are basic. Hence they have more people going with the delivery option than dine in. But their food is faultless, at least whatever I tried!
Their service is worth mentioning.

Lunch thali and evening daily special are good. Better than the other neighborhood south indian restaurants. Taste is an amalgamation of tamil and kerala food.

The South Indian thali is quite comparable to heavyweights like Saravana Bhavan, but served with but more personal attention. The kuruma can use a bit more seasoning & so can the chaas. Else a good lunch option.

Great South Indian food with very polite and attentive waiters. Had the Podi Masala Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Rawa Masala Dosa & Onion Dosa. They were yummy and the sambar and chutney were good too. I had the vadai too and they were soft and fresh. Love the filtered coffee which was not too sweet like some other places. Food were served hot and fresh. Price were kind to the pockets too.

It's a very good place to have south Indian food especially for Dosa, Idli and their famous is the coconut chutney and red chutney. But I would recommend that it is good for roommates or bachelors to dine in and have a experience.

When you get to have such an authentic South Indian Food, that can truly make your day, perfectly priced and staff is friendly as well, i recommend it highly for breakfast.

Went there with family at 1130am for a Friday breakfast so post normal breakfast hours, could not try the mini tiffin, tried the Ghee roast, Rava dosa, Mysore Masala, Cheese Dosa and Dip Idli Sambhar. All great, however have had better Rava Dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa (too much garlic for our liking), the chutneys were nice.

Went there after reading the 4+ reviews on Zomato. Found the place very average. Must say the thali was better than most places in the same range. The staff though courteous still need some training. The place had good traffic hence seemed to be struggling to maintain Covid guidelines. It's a small place but seem to have built a good reputation. Can be a good option for South Indian meals with no frills and if on a budget.

Mamis has been a home away from home for me since I got to Dubai. Love their crisp dosas and warm service.

Why there are Talabat guys standing right infront of the entrance and there are so many of them maybe 15-20 at a time. We ofcourse have no problem with them, because during these difficult times, these guys are doing the best they can and helping everyone. However Resturent needs to ensure public safety as well and let customer be comfortable when entering the restaurant.

Food is Good but can be improved.

Absolutely love it. My favourite Tamizh meals spot in UAE. Their vatha kuzhambu is a star attraction. Consistency is their biggest advantage. I have been to this place multiple times and also used their catering for a small family gathering at home, and they did not disappoint.

If quality is taste then Mamis Illam is the answer. Not seen a restaurant serving quality food in UAE.

Good quality south Indian breakfast food. Really like the variety of Chutneys on offer and the simplicity of the dishes. They aren't going over the top with spices and keeping the dishes simple and tasty, as they are intended to be.

First visit. We have ordered for quick meals and one full meals. Mostly waiter serving for too many ppl it seems. We have to wait for his arrival and request for ordering. Serving also too slow. Taste wise sambar, poori kurma and vathal kuzhambu are too good. On the other side rasam, poriyal, kootu are not tasty at all. They are charging 20AED for full meals but quality wise it's not worthy. Chef don't know how to prepare payasam. Need more improvement in quality and also waiters.

Very good authentic Tamil restaurant with very good selection of vegetarian dishes prepared in very traditional Tamil Nadu style. All South Indian thali lovers should definitely check this place out. My only gripe with this restaurant is that the staff are too biased and they were not that accommodating to my liking. The prices were reasonable as well. Just don't mind the staff, maybe they had an offday. Just go there to enjoy your food and I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed! And lastly, one of my friend had suggested not to drive after having food from them as it has a tendency to make you very drowsy with your fulfilled stomach

They are terrible with their zomato orders when it comes to sambar! You will get 1 cup of sambar, whether you order 2 idlis or 4. It's so irritating.

This is our repeat visit.we love the sambar.medu vada was amazing.each and every items r sooo yummy.quick service.

Pure Vegetarian especially tamil type of food available.
IDli, Pongal and vadai are my favorites there.
One unique thing i noticed there is that the bill will not come to you. You will have to pay at the counter. Waiters dont even bother anyone for tips.

Been here with my colleagues to have Onam sadhya, the place was over crowded, huge que. Anyway managed to get a seat in a while. The food was tasty variety of dish all in one plate. Even though there was huge crowd the staffs were managing well. Thumbs up.
Hope to visit again with my family.

Good tamil restaurant in discovery gardens. If you want to eat dosa or uttapam it is the place where u will get a great South indian cuisine.

Great South Indian cuisine. The chutneys are yum and the sambar is also decent. Overall nicely made and felt good hygiene.

Actually I don’t understand what they are serving in special thali not only this when I requested counter manager for delay in service they don’t care and continue what he keep doing.
So my recommendation not to come such Resturant again

A place were we have food like home. Good quality and taste. The service is best. The filter coffee is amazing. Loved the food here.

Very good, authentic Tamil style food. Courteous service. Food arrived fast. We reached early at 7.45 pm to avoid rush hour.

We went on Saturday afternoon and ordered south indian thali.may be they ran out of food and they could have told so we could have ordered something else or moved on to another restaurant.rather they dragged the lunch for more than 60 mjnutes feeding on instalments and it was a complete embarrassing and they barely started serving using spoons to ration thr left over for other oncoming customers as well. They charged full price for simple white rice and left over curries which was served on miserly basis.

Absolutely delicious and great value for money meals. Very courteous staff and always on their toes! The ambience is very cosy and perfect for a Friday morning breakfast.and oh my god the filter coffee will put any friggin Starbux to shame!

A hidden gem located in Discovery Gardens that serves pure veg south indian cuisine and the best part is the food contains no colour, no artificial flavour and no msg/ajinomoto.

The staff are super friendly, there's loads of free parking near the restaurant and they cater. Had their food catered to quite a number of events and they're always on time, well set up, very reasonably priced and the food despite being vegetarian is always spot on.

I've tried quite a variety of dishes so I'm going to sum it up. Had the Orange and pomegranate juice which were absolutely fresh with no sugar added, just like fresh juice made at home.

Tried pretty much all the 65 dishes and loved everything although my fav is gobi and the padavalam 65 was something new never tried it anywhere else before.

Their variety of chutneys complement the dosa so well, the vadas are yum and they also have 5 Taste Uthappam which is basically 5 different flavours of uthappam - podi, onion, tomato, cheese and potato.

Their Veg Biryani is one of the best I've had where they use soya chunks, my constant order everytime. It's got the right level of spice and flavour. Definitely a must order.

Their thalis have quite a good variety, but my favourite part was the daal powder and ghee. Being a hardcore non vegetarian this was quite new to me but trust me it's one of the best combinations ever. So much so that I'm craving it right now.

Lastly their dessert speciality is the pineapple halwa, which is just the right sweet and sour.

A perfect place to dine with family, get food catered, or get on board with their monthly meals. Despite how much you eat there's no bloated feeling because of how fresh the food is. Highly Recommended.
