Breath-taking experience from beginning to end. After last year visit I was not convinced at all with service and food. The lady manager was very impersonal and was not able to address our issues. This has completely changed for the better. Raphael, new manager, made sure our dining experience was immaculate. Even when I did not enjoy my main dish, chicken bowl, Raphael made sure to replace for something delicious.
Want to mention Dala who was simply amazing explaining and so sweet.

Exceptional all around. Need to order Akinigi (hangar steak). The best red meat I have had in my life. And Prasun is an exceptional server - thought of our needs before we asked for them and accommodated all of our unique requests. Role model!

Have tried the Japanese cuisine in Raffles, Matagi restaurant and was one great surprise. The real Japanese flavors they delivered my evening. The place is beautiful and the service is great. Loved the experience. Prasun was a great amazing serving us with a great smile on his face all the time explaining all the dishes with a great professionalism. The sommelier was so great too proposing a great wine that was amazing. Loved this wonderful pure Japanese restaurant. Top!

تجربتي في المطعم الياباني في فندق رافلز كانت ليست في المستوى المتوقع حيث كل طبق طلبته كان ينقصه شي بالنكهة لدرجة اني قمت بخلط السالمون مع الصويا سوس والوسابي لكي أتقبله، المدير كان في مستوى التعامل الراقي معي وحاول يعالج الموضوع وانا شاكر لردة فعله.

I have had sushi all over the US… I know what I like and mostly I am willing to pay for it along with the experience. I arrived and the waiter was rushing me immediately. Seemed to be annoyed I was there.

No gluten free options so they basically made a California roll.

Worst tasking sushi roll I ever had. I had two pieces and didn’t finish the rest. I asked for siracha and they brought ketchup.

The manager came over. He did offer to make something else. The experience that I came for was ruined.

Still charged me the most I have ever paid for 2 pieces of 1 roll.

Save your money.

Go somewhere else.

Tried their lunch menu, which has a selection of widespread of Salads to choose & on the table, you get your Soup - Miso Soup (one of the best one I had), Sushi Set was yummm

For Main Course- Charcoal Grilled Salmon & Chicken Katsu Curry & they were sooooo gooood

Let me tell you, I tried one of the best cocktails ever - 6th sense, which had Tangy fresh flavour of & refreshing #musttry

For desserts we tried little of everything - Matcha Creme Brulee, Matcha Pound Cake (), Strawberry Swiss Roll, Seaseme Icecream & everything were Lip Smaaaaackiiing

Tatsächlich gibt es Food Pairings die ich außergewöhnlich sind und gut funktionieren. Auch die Qualität der Lebensmittel ist toll. Es Japanisch - Italienisches Crossover zu nennen, nur weil hier und da Parmesan und Trüffel draufgehobelt wurde halte ich für überzogen. Zu einem guten Resturant gehört insgesamt mehr - zum Glück wurde meine Reservierung zum Chef Table verschlampt und wir haben nur normal gegessen, sonst häztte ich mich maßlos über das verschwendete Geld geärgert. Der Service und das Essenerlebnis insgesamt sind nicht professionell. Es scheint, dass die noch recht junge, europäische Restaurantleiterin total überfordert ist. Dem gegenüber stehen lächerliche Preise. Das ist es nicht Wert.

Spend your money and go to DIFC or Business Bay. It is nice but reminded us of DIFC except the crowd. Food quantities are tiny and over priced. Would not go back.

The food is heavenly! The staff are very helpful and friendly. We ordered wagtu grade A7, fried squid, prawn tempura sushi, wagyu gyozas, and side of mustard sesame asparagus. The gyozas are seared to perfection and can't begin to describe how amazing the taste is. The wagyu A7 is out of this world. Also the vibes are so cool, the DJ has just the right music to keep you in a great mood.

Truly, one of the most precious experiences I've had in Dubai! I loved the beautiful interiors and the ambience. Such a unique combination! Food was more than delicious, the highest quality meat I’ve ever tried and we ordered wagyu.

The hospitality of the staff was also incredible. I felt like a princess, like the most important customer there. Frank (the waiter) and Rafael (the manager) made us feel so special! I highly recommend this place!

AMAZING BRUNCH IN A BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT – SERVICE 10/10!

Matagi is situated in the Raffles Hotel on the Palm. We visited as a party of 5 for brunch (with a small 8 month old child) and had the most amazing time.

It's the perfect brunch for a date/family brunch or even to enjoy with friends. They have a live DJ but the music isn't so loud that you can't hear each other talking – it's just a really nice, relaxed vibe. They have high chairs for children which is a bonus and there were a few children enjoying brunch at the time (but it is by no means a "kids brunch", it's very sophisticated).

The restaurant itself is beautiful. The kitchen is situated by the entrance of the restaurant and is covered by a glass panel so you can see what the chefs are cooking up. The bar area is beautiful and very "instagrammable", and the service was impeccable. We went for the champagne package and our glasses were always full (without us having to ask to be re-filled).

They have three packages available for brunch: soft drinks, house beverages and sparkling, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The starters, sushi selection and desserts come as sharing plates and there is plenty to go around. You can choose your own main course each which we thought was perfect (we all opted for the black cod which was divine). One thing to note is to make sure you save enough room to get you through to dessert – there is so much food and the sushi platter is enough to feed a small village (again very instagrammable as it is served over dry ice).

Overall we had the most lovely family day out and would visit Matagi again in a heartbeat!

We wanted a table at 8: 00 with a child. Then it was said that children can only be given a table at 7: 00 p.m. This because there is a bar in the restaurant. OK. Well so far. But the bar is exactly the same at 8pm as it is at 7pm.no difference.alcohol is also served at 7: 00 p.m. Unfortunately, I cannot understand this and found this very disappointing.

Very expensive but good food quality. Service was extremely slow although there were only 2 other tables. We had to look around to get waiters attention. The guy who took us to our table needs more training. I wouldn’t recommend it giving the expensive food and bad service.

Well first and foremost i want to thank Danilo Tamiso, Frank and Vera from Matagi They are so friendly, amazing, attention to details, and they helped us to make the best decision in the menu. Sanjay made us choose the best sparkling.i had the best birthday ever and looking forward to the next dinner. The best is sushi ever in town. You can never go wrong with their food. I have eaten in do many restsurants in Dubai but i still come back. You should be grateful that you have this staff i mentioned

Attended the Chef's Table. It was an amazing experience. I loved the quirky interiors, a mix of Italian and Japanese. Each course served to us with the wine pairings were simply fantastic. Will definitely return!

I have been there for a supper, I was a bit disappointed by the quantities that were to tiny, but the visuals of the plates are impressive

Average black cod and sushi. Only standout was the beef carpacciao. Definitely not worth the price. The service, however, was very good

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried in Dubai. Their ambience, mood overwhelmed me once I entered the hotel. Felt like I was treated like a princess from the entrance for the service of the hotel.

The restaurant staffs were also very kind.

Food was very delicious. It would be good for group of people to share the dishes because they have a lot of selection of sushi, sashimi and wagyu.

I liked their sashimi and wagyu more than sushi personally. And the food overall was bit salty for me. So communicate about this with your server, he/she’ll help you out the most.

Would like to go Matagi again!

The food its absolutely amazing and fresh. The servjce was on point and very personalized.
The drink menu was quite a variety, and the hotel its like Palace Versailles.

The staff are extremely friendly, and will take the time to explain the menu and answer your questions. The food is also very amazing especially the sashimi and wagyu beef.

The Raffles Hotel is absolutely stunning and as soon as you step in you get awestruck by the glitz and the glamour of the hotel! The great service starts from the door as soon as you enter! We were escorted to our restaurant, Matagi by a staff to start our delicious culinary journey!
We had a very warm welcome by Danilo who is the General Manager there and thorough enjoyed every minute of our dinner!
The food is super amazing and each dish was bursting with flavour! We ordered a lot of different starters and main courses which we shared amongst us so we could taste a bit of everything.
Thank you Rapheal for helping me pick this venue, I would highly recommend it and look forward to going back again very soon!
I hope you can add Lamb to the menu as well so there is more choice. We all loved the vibe of the place, all the staff was cheerful and had positive energy, the decor is supportive of this positive energy too!

Recently I was invited to Matagi, Italian-Japanese restaurant. A new addition to the Japanese fusion food scenery in Dubai. Special items were prepared by the chef. The food was Very Good; innovative and delicious. Charming and trendy atmosphere.

Amazing experience here! Loved the decor and the attentive service. Chef Mauro made sure that I had an unforgettable dinner and I really appreciate the little touches as well. I'm sure that I'll be back when I'm Dubai.

Very nice fusion restaurant. We really enjoyed our time at the bar with Antonio who prepared amazing cocktails for us.

Fantastic meal. Wagyu Sirloin cooked to perfect medium rare - cut like butter and served with a flavorful house sriracha. Mushroom and Truffle on point with the umami really coming through. They were out of Hibiki which isn't too surprising, but Maitre D' was able to recommend a great alternative whiskey that I'll probably be adding to my personal stash.

Chef personally visited to make sure I enjoyed my meal and took the time to answer my question about the citrus in the sriracha. A great experience - I plan to return.
