Dr. Imed Badaui at Medcare Eye Center was absolutely phenomenal. I came in with 2 infected and scratched eyes from boxing, and he relieved all my pain immediately, explained why I was in so much pain and he set expectations for how long it will take to heal, in 15 minutes I was in and out of his office, he put a contact lens in my eye to help my eye heal, he gave me the best antibiotics for my eyes, within 5 days my eyes are almost completely healed and I can see again and I have little to no pain in my eyes, whereas I was pretty much blind before I met Dr. Imed Badaui. Cost of the appointment was about $150, antibiotics were about $75. And he didn’t even charge me for my second appointment when he checked in on me and gave me more advice, really great and personable doctor, he’s the man, great guy, I highly recommend him to everyone I know who needs a great eye doctor, and he even gave me a cool pair of specialized sunglasses with foam padding to create space between the lens of the sunglasses and my eyes so that my eyes are never rubbed against the sunglasses to let my eyes heal. Absolutely phenomenal eye doctor, I can’t recommend him and Medcare eye center enough. The representatives on the phone and at the front desk were also very helpful with no waiting time required, and they helped me to reschedule my appointments when I needed to, and they were understanding when I was 11 minutes late for my appointment due to heavier than expected traffic. Absolutely phenomenal, I love the people and the service here.

We have been visiting Medcare Eye Clinic, Shk Zayed Road since last four years and are under the expert care of Dr Prasanna. Rao. He has carried out cataract surgery (both eyes) on myself and my dear wife. We are truly blessed to have Dr Rao by our side. He is very polite, considerate, caring and a good human being. He explains in detail in the clinic during pre-op meeting what the procedure entails. In the OT, he calms us down with a reassuring pat and kind words. He never hurries through the explanations. We shall recommend him and his Team to all our family and friends always.
His Team in the Clinic is also very experienced, polite and caring. They carryout the pre-op procedures (eg BP reading, scans etc etc) in the privacy of the respective Rooms. The clinic is very well laid out and CLEAN. Due to Dr Rao's expertise, humility and caring nature, he is in great demand and we don't mind waiting for some extra time in his Clinic, when we have an appointment.

It was an amazing experience which is why I decided to write on it. Dr Prassana Rao is a very busy Dr but the patience with which he sees every patient maintaining his cool is really commendable. The care he takes explaining even how to put medicines even, speaks volumes on his eye to detail. Ofcourse the skills as an eye surgeon is known all over Middle East but what impressed me is his warm nature even though consulting first time. A unique experience in my 30 years here. On the operation table with words of comfort and explaining under local anesthesia and best feeling is to see after so many years without glasses Always been afraid to operate as had retinal issues but Dr changed my perception. World is brighter n beautiful Ofcourse without team is incomplete like Mr shahul hameed, optometrists, sisters and support staff God bless the team and MEDCARE is lucky to have such a great team

The best eye doctor I have visited really! I would recommend Dr. Tarek Ibrahim Younis. My sight was bad, I couldn’t go without my glasses a -5 in each eye and he literally rectified my eyes with the lasik procedure! Best experience brought my youth back.

Rude treatment, completely incompetent, negligent attitude, performed so many painful procedures in one appointment, without showing any evidence, wrote a diagnosis. She was rude and harsh. The medications were prescribed incorrectly for my entire family. Young, incompetent doctor. After her procedures, all my family eyes hurts. My family came simply for a routine examination to be prescribed reading glasses. After the appointment, she sent me links to YouTube about eye disease, LINKS TO YOUTUBE! Where are all the confirmatory pictures, the results of all the tests and screens she performed? !? !? !

I had the SMILE eye procedure with Dr Tarek Ibrahim at the Medicare Eye Center everything went so well more than I had expected the procedure was quick pain free and Dr Tarek was kind enough to make sure I was comfortable through it all. I had a rather pleasant urgent medical visit to Medcare Eye Centre as an international visitor from the UnitedKingdom. The staff were great and I was seen by DR SASHWANTHI MOHAN who was very kind and considerate and exceptionally brilliant in her medical knowledge as well as her delivery of service. DR Mohan recognisied my medical concerns immediately and prescribed the appropriate medication for me to help aid me with my recovery. I was very happy with Medcare Eye Centre.

After wearing prescription glasses for nearly 17 yrs it feels amazing to see the world through My Eyes and without spectacles. My vision was corrected from - 6.5 to the state where I don’t need glasses anymore with the help of Femto Smile procedure. I can’t thank Dr. Emad Badawy enough to make this happen. I highly recommend him for his professionalism, knowledge and experience. Also I would like to thank the staff of Medcare for always being nice and helpful and making this journey a smooth one.

I did Femto lasik with Dr. Emad one week ago, there was no pain at the surgery even after it. The doctor answers all inquiries and makes you feel comfortable during the operation. Now my vision is 6/6 without the glasses, Iam glad for taking such decision, and I encourage everyone to do it because you will feel the change and enjoy your sight.

I want to thank the Medicare Eye Centre for the good services that i received. When I came the pressure in the eyes was very high at 29, when Doctor Lama introduced the medicine that am still using the pressure has reduced to 13. Doctor Lama is still helpful and very grateful. The environment is very clear and the staffs were friendly.

Dr. Ammar Majbour an extremely experienced doctor. We undertook two surgeries and the results are great.

He was quite thorough in his explanation at all times during initial consultation, pre and post surgery operations. And the precaution/process to be followed after the surgery was very clear.

I did SMILE refractive surgery at Medcare Eye Centre 2 weeks ago. I suffered from moderate myopia with mild astigmatism. After thorough medical examination my doctor Emad Badawy had decribed me all possible options to restore my vision. I have chosen SMILE eye surgery for the following reasons: it's the latest technology with the proven results, minimally invasive, minor side effects. The surgery took only few minutes, was totally pain-free and my sight restored fully in a few hours. Today I have 20/20 vision and I don't suffer any side effects. I was really lucky to meet such a highly professional and attentive doctor always ready to clarify any of my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Emad Badawy and Medcare Eye Centre  to address any of your vision problems!

So annoying to get a simple answer or prices when you call. Drag on the talk for several minutes before getting an answer for consultation! Slow and incompetent staff I have to say. Reception positions should be fully knowledgeable to answer price enquiries immediately

I had a frightening experience at this center recently.

I went there complaining of blurry vision and to have my eyes examined. Doctor advised that I need to wear +2.50 (from +0) reading glasses and increase my short-sight number (from -3.75 to around -4.5). I was skeptical with as I have had the same eye-sight number for over 20 years and I felt fine up until a couple of months ago. Without thoroughly examining me, Doctor and his nurse were insistive that I have Lasik surgery ASAP and wanted me to confirm my appointment for the lazer surgery.

I went home shaken and confused but felt I have no choice but to go through the surgery as apparently my eye-sight had apparently worsened in the past two months. The reason? I was told it's possibly just my age (I just turned 40).

Still unconvinced, I went to see another eye test facility and was properly checked by the doctor. The prescription given by Doctor at Medcare turned out to be not just incorrect, but entirely invalid. The visited other eye hospital and doctor was able to determine the cause of my blurry vision as a result of wearing the wrong type of contact lenses (the one I was currently wearing had apparently expired! All I needed were a new pair of contact lenses!). There was absolutely no problem with my eyes. I had no short-sightedness and I wasn't nearly blind, as Doctor at Medcare had incorrectly diagnosed.

In light of this, I cannot at all recommend Medcare Eye Center. If you must, always get a second opinion as misdiagnosing eye-sight issues can result in a worse experience.

I had called medcare to ask for an appointment with prasan roa and they said he is on leave so I got appointment after 3 weeks. Then just one day to my appointment they called and said doctor is sick so again they gave me appointment after 2 weeks and again I get call today saying he is not well - so from the first time I called for rao its 45 days so I find this very unprofessional and they dont know what healthcare industry is all about.

In Oct 2017, I developed a macular hole in the right and and was so scared that I couldn’t see. I was referred to Dr Prasan Rao of Medcare eye center who patiently explained what was wrong and the treatment involved. He did his best to calm me down before the surgery which was a success.
I have since then become his regular patient and I must say he is courteous and very experienced in his duties. I would like to thank the entire team Ms. Romia (Nurse), Mr. Shahul (assistant) and the 2 optometrist (Ms. Jabeen and Ms. Ansu) for the warm reception each visit and the care provided all these years. Once again thank you Dr Prasan Rao for your care.

Just now had a terrible experience with Dr. Emad Badawy from Eye Center at Medcare. He was an arrogant and extremely impatient doctor. He feels extremely annoyed with any question raised from his patient, he makes his patient feel that they are all raising stupid questions. He openly violates the hospital rule by not wearing the mask during the whole process of eye check for my daughter and me. I am shocked that such unqualified doctor exists in such famous hospital. We would have never visited this Eye Center again. It was a horrible visit.

We have just found out that My mother could not see clearly with her right eye during her last visit to Dubai. After visiting several doctors, it seemed that her right eye needed to be urgently treated as she suffered total cataracts and retinal detachment. One of the doctors we had visited suggested meeting with Dr. Prasan Rao as it requires advanced treatment from an experienced doctor.

Dr. Prasan Rao was the Doctor who gave hope to my mother that she could be able to see again even though it was only 30%. She went through three stages of surgery for nine months, and The Doctor was very patiently treating her. The Doctor also helped us complete the necessary requirement for our insurance.

Thank you to All Mighty God; with the permission of Allah, my mother has recovered and was able to see again. Since then, she has been pleased as this is like a miracle.

In this opportunity, I want to compliment all of Dr. Prasan Rao's efforts with his assistant (Sahul), who has helped us a lot during these difficult times, and all the nurses who have treated my mother very well in this clinic. Appreciate it. God bless you all.

You will notice that almost all the 5-star reviews of this hospital are from people with only one review in their profile, and that most are almost identical in wording. That is an attempt to improve their rating, which should not even be one star. This is a really bad group of hospitals. In my 26 years in Dubai I have not come across worse. Administration is chaos. Website full of bad links. ER should be called "come back next week. " It's like an aimless entity attempting to discover itself. And you are the hapless victim of their mediocrity. Avoid. There is SO much better in Dubai, fortunately.

I got my Lasik Eye Surgery in this clinic with Dr. Tarek Younis. He is the best doctor and he was so gentle and patience with me even though I was so scared and was disturbing him a lot. I really highly recommend him.

Thanks to Dr. Lama I'm seeing without my spectacles after 12 long years!

For a long time I wanted to do Lasik surgery, but I was scared. Finally I decided to try Lasik and I was lucky enough to have Dr. Lama. She recommended me PRK instead of Lasik. Then I did the surgery, the first two days was painful as doctor rightly mentioned before hand (but paracetamol helps). PRK has a longer recovery time than Lasik. She explained to me the stages of recovery and what to expect before the operation and I experienced exactly the same after the surgery.

Now after 3 months, thank god. I can read till the last smallest line from the eye test! All thanks to Dr. Lama. I have to also mention that she was sweet enough to give her personal mobile to reach her if there are any questions or urgencies. And of course she did answer my calls:) Not to mention the number of follow-ups she did after the surgery. It was quite a journey and I am so happy I trusted Dr. Lama with the surgery.

I had a really good experience with dr.lama. She is very professional and kind with the patients, I had a problem with my right eye and she guided me through the entire treatment and I was able to treat my eye within days. Medcare truly knows how to choose their doctors.

I came to Dr. Tarek Younis with severe eye-infection including extreme light-sensitivity. Through careful prescription and timely follow-ups, Dr. Younis was able to reduce eye inflammation and bring much-needed relief within a few days. I highly recommend Dr. Younis for his professional, patient-oriented and top-notch eye-treatment.

Medcare eye center is one of the best in Dubai. Myself, my husband and my 3 kids always relay on them.specially Dr. Lama Sharbek she always takes care of us. She is kind focused and always know what to do. Specially my special needs son. She knows how to let him feel comfy and happy.

I had an appointment with Dr. Lama Toufic Sharbek was based on a Pediatrician ophthalmologist recommendation by Medcare helpline. My daughter had already been seeing Dr. Ashram Hejazi in Prime Medical centres and he had prescribed basic eye drops because my daughter had slight astigmatism.
Dr. Lama was least interested to hear patient history or why I wanted to check her vision. He handed my daughter the paddle and while the test was going on my daughter was teasing the alphabets incorrectly and rather than saying “try again” or swim thing more positive she would say “are you sure it’s not “D” rather than “L” as an example.

Secondly in the middle of the eye test her phone kept buzzing with notifications and she was so distracted d that she would talk to her nurse in between. Showing least bit of care or attention to patient she wrote her diagnoses and said “that’s all. ”

Medcare has good Pediatrician but she is not recommended for Pediatrician ophthalmology.

They don't seem to want business. Been trying to reach out to them for 2 weeks. They don't answer calls and don't call you back when the generic 800MEDCARE number service agent places a request for them to call you back. Anyway, no shortage of eye doctors in Dubai.

Dr Lama is the best ophthalmologist in Dubai. She is very professional, systematic and spends a sufficient time in examination and explaining. I am very happy that she is is my doctor for the past 6 years. I am strongly recommending her.

Place totally packed. No social distance no sanitizer no lines to follow. 12: 25pm there is 32 people on the wait area which overload outside. No one answer calls ever. 2 gents at reception very rude just saying “we are under staffed”.

My experience at Medcare Eye Centre has been excellent.
Dr Prasan Rao and his team are amazing from 1st consultation, through surgical procedure and all check-ups thereafter. Dr Rao is always on hand to answer any questions. He explains everything in detail and leaves you feeling confident in all aspects of the surgery and care for your eyes.
I have found all the staff at Medcare pleasant and extremely helpful and friendly from reception all way through to Dr Rao and his medical team.
I would never have believed my vision could be this clear without the aid of contact lenses and glasses which I have had to wear for so many years now.

Unprofessional front desk and time management. Booked my appointment @3: 45, could see the doctor at 5: 00 and clear the bill @6: 30.

They dont respect other's time. They made me wait 45 minutes from the time of appointment just for 5 minutes checkup. They apologised and fixed second appointment for follow up and made wait again another 30 minutes. Horrible experience. No time management

Crowded, unorganized and appointments mean nothing to them. Very disappointing, I would suggest another place for sure. Reception staff don’t care ‍️ Doctor was very good though to be fair.

I was explained about the procedure before and later on about the results in simple but in great details! The care during and after the surgery was very good. The competence of the doctor is the very best in this field of work! I will highly recommend.

You have to wait for a long time to see the doctor.

From 1 to 3 pm Most of the employees including the doctors have their Lunch Break (KFC OR CURRY), So no point of taking appointments in these timings!

If you take a first appointment, for sure it will be rescheduled!

It took us 2 months before I had my lasik surgery, Dr Ammar didn't rush thru everything, he made sure that my entire eyes is okay for surgery. Although the waiting process was long, I am 100% satisfied! The procedure was completely painless! All the staff reassured me during the surgery. Before, I can't live without my eyeglasses and was legally blind but now I can see everything clearly! My vision is better than 20/20 and I am very thrilled with the results. Kudos to all the staff of Medcare Eye Center especially to Doctor Ammar and Miss Charm! Wish I had done it much much sooner!

No care about patient time. They keep calling you to confirm coming on time. After I came 15 minutes ahead of schedule, doctor was not free until i left 20 minutes after scheduled time.
Reception confirmed that I’m the next but then they said there is another patient.

I had an appointment with the doctor at 3: 15 and they let me in at 4: 30? ! Then what is the reason to have an appointment!

Amazing way of coordination, keeping patients up to date after treatment they call up followup if, they are always ready to help information over the phone, overall its a real professional & amazing hospital.
