This is not a baby/ kid friendly restaurant. Food was very bland [ no onion, no garlic ] Ordered dal rice, naan, veg hariyali, veg kolhapuri & biryani. Everything was average. Taste was not that great. In the entire restaurant there was just 1 high chair. My kids didnt get a high chair. Also my baby was denied a high chair. There is no changing table in the washroom. There is just 1 washroom which is extremely tiny. There was a big line to visit the washroom. Wont visit again.
Pathetic service. Staff serves you like they are giving you free food. They dont even bothered if you have cutlery n water at table. Some staff were busy in discussing there homely affairs and least bothered. They dont give attention to kids unlike other good restaurants who treats kids so nicely. Complete money waste and mood spoiled. Highly pathetic taste. Bikanerwala is 100 times better with self service.
Food was super amazing and fresh service was super amazing felt like we were sitting in Vrindvan definitely been a best restaurant in Dubai as a foodie Johny was super polite and kind to serve and kanchan too
Please do not get fooled by the Best vegetarian restaurant in the name. It is self proclaimed. The food was not at all impressive and was expensive as well.
Service and Ambience were good.staff were responsible, helpful. Neat and clean vegetarian restaurant. But price's were bit high if we compare with other vegetarian restaurants around in that area. Wash room was very small/congested.
Overall experience is good. I can rate it 4star because of its hygiene and staff service Food taste can be better, there's a room for improvement.
I need to appreciate their Biryani two times. First is for Mouthwatering taste and second for making it this much tasty without onion and garlic.
Yes you read it write, A Biryani that too Veg Biryani which is without onion and Garlic. Few people will name it as Ghas-Phus, or Pulao or even something else, but one need to visit them to realize the wonder that they are doing with the spices.we Tried Govinda's special Vegetable Biryani - Which was in red gravy and full of flavor.also tried their Hydrabadi Handi Biryani - It was green in color and made with a base of Spinach.
Restaurant Review time Invited from: @mygovindas Location: @karama
Govindas has been one of the best restaurant serving Satvik food. Satvik food is prepared without any onions or garlic which makes it very unique. I visited their Karama branch to try out their new contemporary menu.
This restaurant is located in karama with ample of parking around. Indoor seating area with lovely interior and perfect family spot.
And we tired a lot many dishes which totally deserves 10/10 for Quality Taste. Portion and Preparation
One of the reasons why I love Govinda’s is its employment of ancient India's Sattvic cooking. This style of cooking derives its fundamentals from Ayurveda and Yoga, but is rare to come across in most Indian restaurants and eateries. The food here is so mouthwatering and absolutely heavenly. The ambience is also beautiful with the indoor tree, melodious background music and traditional Indian paintings, all depicting the life of Lord Krishna.
On one of my visits, I had a personal demo from the chef himself. Govinda's own signature dessert creation! Crushed Imarti and Angoori Rasmalai in a base of Rabri, and garnished with chopped pistachios. Super super yummy! Also, don't forget to check out their signature ice cream flavours. My favorite is Gulkhand!
I have been coming here since the beginning and I really enjoy the food they serve. The staff is super nice and the food is Jain which really doesn't show as the taste is just amazing. However before when I used to come the restaurant, the food was served in good quantities, but nowadays the prices are extremely high and the quantity of the food has reduced. Nevertheless, definitely recommend coming to this place on special occasions.
Great food, good customer service and friendly staff. Everything is clean and hygienic. There's also good interior decoration. The only problem is that there was only one restroom available to use. And the hand wash was in it too, so it was a tiny inconvenience as we had to wait for others. Otherwise, brilliant.
Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious what more can you ask for? Everything from the mouthwatering appetizers to the dessert which was also very good - we will definitely be returning! Highly recommend for healthy yet flavorful indian vegetarian food
This vegetarian restaurant is wonderful. It seems to be very popular. The staff is friendly. Wide range of dishes. Everything we ate was really delicious.
Too goood to have vegetarian and jain food. Absolutely awesome. They even have a large variety of fasting food. Was soo surprised to see such varieties in faraal food for ekadashi. Woww.
There are a few eateries around the World which complies the seasonal taste of Food and serves to their customer; even in India, it is rare. My Govinda's, Dubai, is an exceptional eatery in the heart of one of the fascinating cities in the World. Majority of the population in Karama is Indian, but My Govinda's brings the ancient knowledge of Food from India to the experience of Global Customers in the form of Contemporary, Traditional, and Fresh Food. With more than 180 dishes on the card, My Govinda's each meal is a treat to soul and taste buds. The enchanting vibe and opulent interiors make the dining experience unforgettable. Large wall painting of Radha-Krishna swinging in the garden, vibrant coloured photo frames hanging besides dining table, and verse from Bhagvad Gita about Satvik Food are add-ons to Consumption of Food in My Govinda's.
My Govinda's in Karama, Dubai is the not place to visit at a time when you want to eat outside at leisure but to experience eating with emotion and gratitude. The owner of the restaurant who is a devotee of the 'International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) ' - Mr Arvind Advani, has brought this real Indian Cuisine to the experience of Dubai's people with one mission - to serve. There is a Fridge outside the restaurant which is always loaded and open for the ones in need and hungry. The attentive staff and caring servers are there to make your dining experience elevating and memorable. Spare time and visit this beautiful Eatery with a difference.
If you are searching for a satvick restaurant in dubai.meaning a restaurant making preparation without garlic and onions for jains.then this is the one.also a great place for their speciality creams like chico flavour guava flavour ect
I ordered Home delivery for mouth melting Briyani and the quality of Rice they are using is broken rice and charging so much is not at all worth the price. Being their regular customer I do not accept such quality compromise. Very disappointing️
- upon entering we were greeted by a kind gentleman who opened the door for us - he asked us where we’d like to sit, taking into account that we didn’t like it too cold - we were talked through some items on the menu having told the waiter that we couldn’t handle too much spice - our drinks and tandoori platter arrived very promptly - the piping hot preparation was served to us by the waiter, asking if we would like more on our plates - we then ordered our mains and were directed to dishes that we would like based on our positive feedback from the starters - the dishes were exceptionally flavoured and piping hot, this was served to us also by the attentive waiter - we were provided with lemon water to cleanse our hands before and after the meal which was a lovely touch - finally I enquired about the fridge outside and was told this is a kindness scheme whereby the restaurant leave food parcels for those who wish to take twice a day, absolutely inspiring
I highly recommend this restaurant and shall be returning again and again and again
For Vegetarian like me, the Best place to have Chinese cuisine, My Husband ‘s favorite Hakka Noodle and Mind is Manchurian and Spring rolls. Here you will get 6-7 types of Biryanis too. All food is with out onion & garlic. Here you will get vegan food too. Last 12 years Govinda is my and my family’s favorite place.
Best North Indian Restaurant (irresistible)! One would love to try almost all the dishes served! Best satvik food! Do not miss Thai sigar, veg Sizzlers, corn capsicum roll, gobi manchurian, Butter rumali rotti, babycorn gravy, real fruit icecream, carrot halwa (one of the best)
Amazing place for lip smacking Indian food in Dubai. Loved the ambience, and the ambient musical track that plays. The place is a cosy joint and a treat for vegeterians like myself. Yes its no branch of te GOVINDA'S back in India by Isckon though. But equally good. Our server, sorry forgot his name was very kind to offer us discount on our next visit. Hope its soon. This is a 4 month late review. Waiting for another time when we can visit again.
You have to eat once here to understand that the food can b real tasty even without onion n galic. Satvik. So many varieties of dishes. A thali, which I guess no one can finish. But super awesome n tasty food. Cherry on the pie is ice cream center at the entrance. It gives all natural flavors of ice creams. N staff serves duh love you feel like fed by your family members.
It was a good gathering of likeminded people for NaMo. Had experienced good tasty main course for years but first time tried tasty quality snacks too. Nice Samosas & Fresh Milk Tea.
Hare Krishna. I was staying just opposite ti this building in City Apartments. Great indian satvik cuisine with delicious items and a natural ice cream corner.
Vegetarian restaurant in karama very close to Indian foodie joints when you drive or walk towards the restaurant a whole food street lined with Indian restaurants open up. Food is saatvic (no onions and garlic) and is freshly cooked. Taste of the curry makes it out special not very spicy neither very sweet. Slightly on the higher side for the wallet a dinner for 1 person with cottage cheese curry Indian bread and a cocktail (house speciality - holy basil mint mix) was 91 dirhams almost 5 dollars with taxes. Owner must install humidifier too.
An expensive vegetarian treat. However worth it when u want to treat your body and soul with some quality tasty satvik veg food combined with great personalised service. Each dish was well made without any artificial flavours or cheap spices. Quantity is good enough for 2 per dish. Tomato soup was fresh but a little cold. Gobi manchurian was the best I have had. Crispy and flavourful. Veg biryani was like home made. Butter rotis went well with paneer tikka masala. Overall enjoyed the treat served by friendly staff. Being UAE national day celebrations, my kids were treated with free toy and sash with national colours. Great experience worth one a while. Next time is thali time for sure.
My govinda’s Restaurant is vegetarian one in karama area near by to burjman metro station.on weekend it is usually crowded. Food quality is good with the high prices compare to the restaurants nearby in the area.on the front side it has a natural ice cream parlour, where you get the very delicious fruit ice creams.
My Govindas is one of the restaurants in Karama that serves a healthy range of vegetarian and vegan dishes. They are known to have started from Year 2001 and has been a huge success in serving the crowd in Dubai. Mahesh Advani, founder and owner of My Govindas made it a point to provide the best and introduce the finest of Satvic food to everyone.
I was invited to try their cuisine and it utilizes the key principles of sattvic cooking & follows the policy of moderation in all aspects of preparation of the food it serves.
We were welcomed with pani puri shots which were tantalizing the taste buds and then ginger lime to quemch our thirst before going into starters.
Then came along the starters, first was the Smoked Angara Paneer Tikka, it was served in grilled platter and it was delicious. Paneer was really soft and the flavours was to the point.
Next, Spicy Thair tiger caught my eye, it was served in a champagne glass, you can spring roll filled with cheese and bell peppers. Yes, it looked like a cigar and sauce to dip in was perfect.
Kidney Bean Kebab was quite different, it was kinda dry, not suiting my palate though.
Avacado Naan Toast – this concept of serving Naan in small square shape to fill in with avocado guacamole, cheese and a dip was innovative. I made two of them actually.
For the rice, they had served a Ratatouille Basil Rice which was flavourful and the special sauce used in it was pretty good.
The last part of the night which is my favourite is the dessert. The chef came personally to our table to prepare the Awadhi Malai Tukra, this had a crumbled shahi tukra topped with rabdi, basil seeds and rose petals. This was really my favourite, I will go next time to have this alone.
It was a lovely night of tasting Sattvic cuisine. And thanks to My Govinda and Prodigi Connect for having us.
