Pappa Roti Cafe

I will start off with the positives for this restaurant to be fair to it. The atmosphere and the food was great, as expected by such a great chain. However, there was one thing that was utterly disgraceful.

First of all, they misplaced our order, and we had to ask 4 different people that all said “it’s getting ready.” Every customer that came before us already had their food as well, and they started fighting in the kitchen afterwards. Finally, after 20 minutes, we got the food that we requested, which was already 20 minutes old.

They brought the bill, and we got practically zero discount (3 aed), showing that they don’t care about their customers. If we were at any other big chain, we would have got a much bigger discount.

Overall, the kitchen looks extremely chaotic and the service was atrocious, which is not what you expect from such an amazing chain. Very disappointing.

Pappa Roti Cafe at JBR is nice place to dine outside on good weathers.
Their buns are the best and the place has a good vibe.
Tried their cold coffee with ice cream and it was excellent.
Also had their bun with cheese and it tasted yummmm.

Went last night at 23.32 and the staff and manager refused to serve us inside, insisted that we do takeaway.
Very disappointed with the managers attitude.

Pappa Roti is an excellent café and bakery that serves some of the most delectable buns I've ever had. The ambience is welcoming and pleasant, with courteous employees who are always willing to assist. My bun was wonderful; it was soft, fluffy, and had the ideal texture. The coffee and tea selections are particularly remarkable, with a variety of options to satisfy every taste. I would strongly recommend Pappa Roti to anyone looking for a fantastic café experience, as well as their delicious buns!

Yesterday we went papparoti at jbr branch, the buns are half cooked and the manager behavior is not acceptable.

I went for coffee Americano.it was below average coffee, the barista needs proper training and staff was not so welcoming esply when I asked them to make it again properly.
Though I will give them another chance.

What a concept. The original bun is the best imo, no point getting the others. A mix of sweet and savoury in a warm bun. Consistently delicious

Great food. But the staff was pretty rushy and it seemed they wanted us out the door as soon as they saw the empty plates

I loved the caramel macchiato frappe and the Nutella hazel nuts (bun) raspberry juice and last kunafa thanks to mona she is a good server and friendly.keep it up

Someone recommended me the buns from Pappa Roti so I tried and the recommendation didn’t disappoint me! After talking to a waitress she recommended me to go for a plain bun and I choose a cappuccino with it. I loved it! The sweetness of the cappuccino together with the buttery from inside bun. Definitely I will come back! They have some seats inside and outside. Staff is friendly as well!

What a filthy establishment and staff are so rude. Had a fly in my food which I got replaced and the staff had the gall to blame me. Then another fly flew into my tea, at that point I paid and left. 0 hygiene standards or attempts to have maintain a clean environment. Come here for extra protein in your food is all I can say.

Fly filled place. Had a fly stick to my bun and had to ask for a replacement. I was told the second one was served without a fly so if any more landed on my bun I would need to pay for another one. Then a fly landed on my saffron latte before I had a chance to drink it. Avoid.

The humble bun, reinvented. Don't get confused by the name, this place serves the most amazing buns with a crazy choice of toppings. Have breakfast, brunch, lunch, sundowner, dinner.you can't go wrong. The buns are heavy so one bun a person is just right.

Update 20 August 2020- if it was expensive before its almost unaffordable now. AED 43 for two buns and a topping each

Pappa roti's tea and buns are really good to eat and there are many options of how you want your bun.

Rude African staff bluntly refused service. Time was 11.42pm advertised as closed at 1am. Could’ve been a little more attentive.

The famous bun, it's a must. Every one should try it.
The wide range of hot and cold drinks make your experience even better.
Lovely outdoor sitting.
Service is very good.
And I need to mention that there is a direct access to the underground parking.
Don't forget to validate your car parking ticket.

Waited too long for the order even they are not busy, ignore by the Staff, no one told us the order will be late, then I have to cancel the order. No curtsy at all, avoid

First time visiting after being recommended by friends. We ordered a strawberry milkshake which was by far the worst I’ve ever tried. So we calmly explained to the waitress and then the manager that the milkshake appeared to be watered down or something but it was nowhere near to be serving standard. The manager at this point became argumentative and rude saying we were wrong.
We then asked for a replacement but he refused saying “how will I know you’ll like this”

Bad service and substandard dessert.

Worst service ever especially the manager Nomair Edwin so rude, we tried to reserve a table and he said we cannot do it, then when we got a table they said it is reserved and we have to sit indoor, and we did but, I was walking outside to kill the time while waiting he cam to me and said sit sit sir, and when finally we got a table, he said sit sir, and we did after a very long wait, and the he came and said sorry this table I reserved, , I asked the waitress to clean the table she said you can wait sir and we waited and no body came and we had to sit with the trash on it. Very bad place and the service is so disgusting thier hands have no gloves, not recommend at all, although thier food is great

The grandson had The Choco Burst which he was unable to finish
The bun with nutella and almond topping was delicious
Tip: remember to ask for hot buns: well worth the wait

Pappa Roti cafe was my favourite cafe in my home country as well in Dubai it always makes me feel like home

Clean and well kept but the staff’s not very friendly or accommodating. We were a group of 11 so wanted to sit out with two table joined together.staff wouldn’t take the time or effort to oblige so.off we went to give our business elsewhere.

Everything there is standard starting from the baking, the service (customer care) is very good. It's a stress relieving coffee shop that gives everyone a piece of mind even to the workers. Come let's explore different kinds of service from different nationalities that you will live to say' pappa roti is the best coffee shop to relax and enjoy the strange but tasty buns. Great place for hangout tea was all time love love papa roti roti very fresh and tasty.

But prices are high.

I don't know if the barista change but it was the best espresso that I tried in JBR walk.

Would not allow my 6 person family to sit together due to distancing rules, when there are multiple 6 people families right in front of us in the courtyard. Very rude.

Based on the majority of reviews I decided to try it. 1st time was 7 years ago so i said let's go again.
I wasn't the 1st guest so i asked for white chocolate bun then they said it's not available so i took strawberry and was told it would take 15 mins to prepare the bun. Then 3 guests came and I saw they were served white chocolate bun in 5 mins!
I might give it another chance but at a different branch.

Not the best Papparoti, especially in terms of hospitality. Waiters are not friendly and they don't really care about your comfort They just do the job.with a bit of a harsh attitude. Other branches are usually way more friendly

Their buns are amazing. The environment around the JBR branch is super cool especially when the weather is nice. The staff is friendly.

They’re mentioning free parking in JBR & by unprofessional way they’re telling you need to spend more than hundred to get it so remove what you are publishing or at least mention the bill limit

Just went for Milk tea also called as Doodh patti in my part of the world. Tea is excellent but highly priced.

Their buns - amazing, so delicious, without any topping, just bun and tee with milk is unbelievable great!

Really good coffee buns sold here. The signature coffee bun have a crusty outer layer and a soft fluffy inside which tastes great. I ordered a turkish coffee and bun set which costs abour 23 AED. The turkish coffee is basically unfiltered expresso.imagine a strong expresso with really fine coffee powder. Safe to say this is the last time I am ordering turkish coffee.

Great taste of bon and good karak with nice seating, staff are friendly but not so professional specially the Indian, crowded most of the time

I don't know why people like the BUN. The place is always full must. The BUN must be addictive cause if you have it once need to go there again

Worst branch (poor service), staff are really unprofessional.you have to pay 200 dhs to variety second car.this really hilarious.

Nice place to chill out post dinner. Coffees are great with a bit of that bun ting on the side. Mint and lime juice is a must.

This is a nice place to sit and have a cup of coffee with their traditional bun specially after the walk on Marina Beach. I have tried it in other contries too and its taste and class is good.

Pappa Roti buns are always served fresh and tender.service is pretty good too. Their JBR cafe is amongst the better ones, great service

They didn’t validate the second token for the Parking because we need to spend 200 AED and our bill is 182!

They charged me more than what i should pay.
It’s very hot inside the store and the lightning is very strong so the indoor atmosphere is very bad.

Their bun combos are really good, you can get a bun and a drink for as low as 20 AED.
My all time favourite is the Nutella bun.

The buns here are sooo good. It's a little pricey but i would recommend trying the food from here at least once

Its an extremely cool place. From glass walls for indoor seating to outdoor seating on the walk, its a place for all to sip their beverage and chat along. The buns are extremely soft, buttery and a variety to chose from. One can also chose from a range of drinks, from the modern cold coffee with ice cream types to the authentic arabic tea. Its a great deal. Highly recommended at JBR.
