Sagar Ratna Restaurant Dubai

Very bad service from staff. I was surprised that this is the same sagar Ratna which has lot of branches in Dubai. One guy continuously keep packing boxes without caring what the customer is asking for. Worst thing was, I asked for extra butter milk the waiter literally bought a 99% water with 1% of milk. I wanted to throw same drink on waiters face.

However food quality is nice as same as other branches. But staff is lazy, very bad at service. Writing this review to improve

I have tried 75% of the menu and everything tastes amazing. The dal baati thali, soya chaap ke sulle, soya kathi rolls, pyaaz ki kachori are amazing. It's my go to place for snacks and meals.

This is a kitchen that caters to.catering and deliveries. There are a few tables to serve too but it's an afterthought.

Regardless. The food is excellent.

Got the food delivered:
1. Quantity of the food was less. (Saying this after ordering things from nearby Veg Restaurants in the area)
2. The taste and quantity was also not that good.
3. Roti especially was not a great choice when getting delivered.
4. Not worthy the amount of money paid. Could have got better quality and quantity in lesser price and better quantity + quality.

Good restaurant, but could really work on the interior. Food is good, especially the paratha.

We had placed an order for a small function at our sweet home. The delivery was on time with hot food and perfect packing. Guests loved all the items of the Menu. The food was really tasty and worth of money. Quantity too was enough for the count of guests given by us.

Definitely referring friends and family and considering for next gathering.

A beautiful north Indian restaurant in Dubai near Jumeirah. Traditional taste is there. We tried Rajasthani thali. It was really nice. We tried alu Paratha as well.both were nice.butter milk too. The space is little less but taste is too good. It is so heavy. Ghee poured like water.too good quality and quantity. Ghee on Dal is the best combination in the thali

I was here some time back when I was sick, I had no energy and mood to cook for myself.
I came here and asked them if they can make me a healthy homely kind of food, and they did. I have huge respect for resturants who can understand how to alter the dish as per the requirement of the customer, such resturants are the best, I am writing this review to appreciate the chef and all the staff who is so nice to make such nice and healthy meal for me, I ate palak paneer and roti.
I want to mention the whole wheat roti here are very nice, just like out from your mom’s kitchen. Highly recommend this to Indians living in Dubai missing their mom. Very few resturants are able to give homely feeling and even make comfort food to its optimum level

Satisfying Indian Vegetable Food. Thali are the best as they serve it hot and fresh. If you are in JLT area should visit for lunch or dinner.

Sagar Ratna, delivered it themselves.very well packaged, we ordered dal makhani, paneer chilli, malai kofta and tawa roti and the food was very nice and tasty.recommended for kids who prefer mildly spicy Indian food

Not a veg fan but when I tried their pure veg food I was surprised. Wide range of authentic indian veg food, whoever is missing the indian chats and tea should come here. Absolutely recommended pure veg restaurant with amazing food that will literally melt in mouth

POSITIVE- It is good if you order what is speciality of restaurant, which is Dal bati Churma and Gatte ki sabji. The taste was good.
Staff- Very humble and supportive.

NEGATIVE- Do not go for North Indian thali it will surely disappoint you with the items.
The price is little expensive. Even for unlimited thali it feels expensive.

Small congested restaurant where AC was not working or not on. I had unlimited marwari thali and couldn't finish the first serving only! Food was tasty. For one time experience is good.

We visited this place, it's a very familiar place with authentic Rajasthani (Jodhouri taste). They have Sogara, Ker Kumuthiya, Gatta ka saag, Choorma other more traditional Marwari food varieties. I feel delighted to meet their person Mr Bhati ji from Jodhpur. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes and a very welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a must visit in Dubai!

We love Dal Makhni of Sagar Ratna JLT and always order that. But this review is purely for the service I received. When I placed the order for Dal Makhni for delivery and reached the restaurant, I requested for onion and Mint Chutney which they usually give (last time I ordered on 3rd Feb and I received the same with onion and green chutney) and the person named Anup, he simply said need to pay 5 AED, like seriously. When I told him that how come you used to give before, he denied that simply.when I ask if I can speak to his manager, he told me he is the manager. This was very Rude and and who charges for onion and green chutney guys.it's always complimentary with food like other restaurants and I don't think it's a big deal. In future.will think twice now to order from Sagar Ratna if we are going to get this kind of Service.

If you enjoy dhaaba food, this is a good place. You'll get same vibes and taste with basic sophistication.

We ordered sev puri, butter naan and smoking tandoori paneer and Dal makhani. For desert ordered Jalebi dood.it was awesome! One of the best desert. A must try. He fried the Jalebi the moment we need it so it is crispy and tasty. Paneer and butter naan too was nice. A good place to have some North Indian food

Go here to enjoy traditional Rajasthani marwari food, in particular Dal Bhaati Churma. This was my first visit and it was quite satisfying.

If you like Indian food this is a nice restaurant for you. I ordered thali, which is multiple foods coming in small round plates and they free the tray and they crumble the round bread like thing and then you mix that bread with the lentil on the tray and eat it. Very nice and quite good for a lunch. Also pricewise I would say definitely a must try!

I highly recommend this place to those who love veg food. Me and my friend ordered thali which can be refilled with most of the things. It was a delicious thali and quite heavy for one person to eat. Best Indian tastes. If you love Indian food this is the best place to sit down and eat. Situated right besides the lake it is perfect location. Resto is small but there’s sitting area outside the resto. Thanks a lot sagar ratna you’re an Indian gem!

I enjoyed baigan pudina bharta and tawa roti with ghee. Baigan bharta is very tasty.
I ordered North Indian thali before this, curries are salty.

Highly recommend for the thali they provide, very slow service and the Aam Rus is not up to the mark, it’s very average.

Very unique vegetarian options. The quantity of gravies was very very less.
Though the cheese kofta was tasty, diwani handi was rather bland. Breads were well priced and well done.

And they make everything right here in their kitchen - paneer, bread and ghee from India. Just feels like homemade food. All the goodness from Rajasthan is right here.

The staffs are very polite and respectful.

About the Food:

In the starters, I had the Jodhpuri Pyaaz Kachori & Soya Chap ke sule. The kachori was a good start to the meal and it is something I had missed for a while now. The Soya Chap ke sule are very unique soya kebabs.

In the mains, I had the Dhunkar Paneer Tikka Masala, the Dhungar Dal Makhani and Gulab Jamun ki subzi with assorted bread (Juri Buti naan, Missi Roti and chapati with ghee).

All the gravies were rich and flavorful.

I had a Gutta Pulav (rice) to end the mains and this one was also rich, true to its origin.

I ended the meal with a Ras Malai and in the slider, I had Masala Chanch.

Great vegetarian food. Their Rajasthani Thali is a must try. Reasonably Priced. Casual dining ambience.

I am not Indian and has no idea what is home taste of Baingan Bharta, however i would say tgat Chief Ramesh is amazing! I never thought eggplant is so yummy

Had a lovely treat for Iftaar. Well it is one of my favourite restaurant in JLT. I just love dal batti, rabodi & Haare pyaaz ki sabji.

Had a contactless And safe delivery. Food was hot & delivered on time. Food was neatly packed.

Ok lets talk about what I had

Samosa was too delicious & yummy

Gobhi matar ki sabji was just too delicious, A perfect taste of garlic in gravy enriched its taste & reminds me of my hometown Pali (Rajasthan) taste.paneer veg was too good, paneer was soft and my daughter loved it.
Perfect Rajasthani Dal, with hing ka tadka
Matar (peas) Puloa was too good perfect with Dal, papad & salad
Roti was soft
Gulab jamun was yummy and soft.

Food was too scrumptious. It’s a perfect meal box for one quantity wise.

Must visit the restaurant, highly recommended.

We ordered from here North Indian Thaali & Vada Pav.

So delivery was on time with nice packing.

North India Thaali: It comes with Rice, Chapati, Dal, 2 Veg curry, raita, salad. So curry which we received only corn masala was good rest all are horrible. Dal was not even properly cooked with no taste no flavor. Rice was very hard with less quantity.

Vada Pav: Liked the taste however it always comes chilies which was missing.

Thaali was no where justified with the price vs quality & quantity.

Amazing taste, good service large portions at very affordable prices makes the place popular. Ghevar rabri and Thali are all time favorite.

Very average food. Better hygiene is needed. Air Conditioning was not working which made it worse since it was summer time.

We went to Sagar Ratna with lot of hopes. Ordered a plate of paani-puri, 1 aloo-pyaaz ki kachori, 1 boondi-raita, 2 gulab-jamun & a masala tea.

Paani-puri was nothing to write about. Gulab-jamun were cold, although had asked them to bring hot one, & not that tasty as well. Masala tea was not good as well.

The only saving grace was the kachori. It was yum!

Maybe the restaurant is famous for the thaalis they provide but frankly speaking, as a North Indian I was disappointed with the dishes we had.

Still would rate this place as 3 giving them a benefit of doubt for the thaalis we didn't had.

Yummy vegetarian options including thali and combos. They need to change the menu though as half the items are not available and served at another branch.

Located in Cluster R with an option of outdoor seating by the lake, this weather makes it perfect for lunch or dinner here.
Whether you love marwari food or are like me who's never had this cuisine before, take my word and visit them for a tummy-friendly meal.

They're introducing some new items in a few weeks, which is what I'd gone to try.
Their indoor seating is limited unlike the oud metha branch. However, the outdoor seating is perfect for the current weather.

What I had?

Raag ka Shorba-
This soup is warm and comforting, making it perfect for this weather. For those who don't know, it's made using grated corn.

Ghewar Chaat- New menu item alert!
Who'd have thought you could turn a dessert to a chaat. Well they've got gulab jamun gravy, so no surprises here, on their take on ghewar as a chaat item.
Sugar syrup is replaced with yogurt and all the spices used to make a chaat. I generally don't prefer yoghurt based chaats, but I loved this one!

Pyaz Kachori-
It's been a while since I liked a kachori. Theirs is crispy on the outside and bursting with flavors on the inside. It had the right amount of spice and goes well with the chutneys served.

Ulta Pulta mushroom-
Stuffed with grated paneer, crushed papad and spices. You won't stop at just one. The flavors emit with every bite. Absolutely loved it!

Soya Chaap-
One could easily be deceived by thinking it's chicken. It's marinated and grilled in red spices and looks almost like a piece of boneless chicken. It's moist and melts right in your mouth.

Mains-
Dal Makhani, Paneer sizzlers, gulab jamun gravy, papad ki sabzi, kabuli pulao and assorted breads.

What I recommend?
Ghewar Chaat, Pyaz kachori, Ulta Pulta mushroom, paneer sizzlers and soya chaap.

For dessert we had moong dal halwa and bajre ki halwa. Honestly, both are very dry for my liking.

This is a great place for both the vegetarians and non vegetarians n

Want to have that authentic Rajasthani cuisine!? This will be the place to be. It is location is surely beautiful especially during cold season with friends and families.
Although the place is small they have the outdoor seating to enjoy the food. Their service is surely really good, the Managers and staffs were really welcoming and surely guide you to choose their good selection from their menu.
I was invited to taste the new menu which is coming up soon in their menu.

Starting with the' Roob Shorba' which was really interesting and for this weather it was really warm and had unique flavour. The appetizers were the Soya Imli Chaap which was soft and was ok to my taste and ghewar you have eatan as sweet but they made Ghewar as the Savoury item, that is Ghewar Chaat to enjoy that different taste.

The mains were Pyaaz kachori, ulta phulta mushroom, Dungar paneer tikka Masala, Papad methi dana, dal makhni, Jodhpuri Kabuli all tasted so good so light on stomach. Special mention to their special Signature dish which is Gulab Jamun ki sabzi, we had it in sweet but they serve it as savoury which was tasty and interesting.
All were served by their special roti of tawa phulka, jaributi naan and khasta roti.

Lastly their desserts were my liking according to the winters too I love these kind of sweets. Gurdh bajra churwma and moon dal halwa. Both were served hot and deliciously so good.

It’s to good for Indian food and fast food. Good PavBhaji Aloo Tikki, also don’t miss the Hyderabadi Biryani, they also provide jain Food. 100% Veg

To start of my dining experience, I had the Raab Shorba, a warm and truly appetizing soup, perfect for this cold weather. Next up, we were served Ghevar ki Chaat. Ghevar is actually a traditional Indian sweet found predominantly in Rajasthan, and who would have thought of using this to make a savoury dish. The Ghevar ki Chaat is amazingly still crispy even though it’s topped with curd, green chutney and date chutney among other toppings like onions, tomatoes, pomegranate, sev and chaat masala that is specifically made for ghevar chaat at Sagar Ratna.
The next dish that I tried was Pyaaz (Onion) Kachori. It was warm and crispy on the outside and bursting with flavours on the inside.
Next was Soya Chaap. Looks can be deceiving as it definitely looked like grilled chicken. But bite into it and you’re back into reality. It is prepared using cooked soya that is mashed, mixed with spices and the grilled. I didn’t enjoy this dish as I’m not at all fond of soya, atleast not on its own.
I was almost half-full but I had to try their main courses as there were some interesting dishes on the menu. One such dish was Gulab Jamun ki Sabzi…. That’s right, a savoury dish made using gulab jamun, sans the sweet syrup. I loved this one. The concept is so unique and it tastes delicious too. The gravy has a slightly spicy touch to it and goes well with the jamun.
Also served were Dal Makhni, delicious as it’s supposed to be, and Dungar Paneer Tikka Masala. This was an absolute sizzler, both literally and not so literally. Watch this video to find out why. Melt-in-the-mouth paneer and sizzling gravy made this a lip-smackingly delish dish.
This restaurant is quite famous among non-Indian vegans too!

Worst food. I am surprised that they can deliver stale food in Dubai.had ordered Daal baati (as per their Rajasthani Thali) through Zomato on 21st dec 2019.the moment we opened the packing it was giving stale food smell. I tried couple of spoons to check if the food is fine or not and immediately after eating couple of spoons, I started vomiting.concerned authorities should do a severe quality check of their food.wouldn’t recommend anyone ordering food from this restaurant

Nice quality of food and it's speciality dosa sambhar is very good. Also try chola bhatura of Sagar ratna. It's really good.

Ordered for Chilli pakoda, Bharva Bindi n roti. The pakoda was good n roti hot made of whole wheat. However the maincourse was absolutely tasteless n spoilt the entire experience. Will never visit again.

Great food, great staff. Very competitive prices. Small but Clean place. The complete package!
