We are a regular customer for this branch (Ibn Battuta). However, they don't value regular customers. I was extremely disappointed today by very poor service. We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We have ordered a cake etc.and requested the staff to bring the stuff how we wanted. We were refused to do so. I have accepted their refusal. Moreover, staff neglected serving us with cracked plate. There are many other places which offer similar food at a much better quality and service. I don't recommend this place to visit.
The Shakespeare and Co.in the Ibn Battuta Mall is not only the nicest place for a very cosy shopping coffee break in a great ambience, there is also a very nice staff that patiently responds to special requests and tries everything to make it a great experience! At the moment it is unfortunately difficult for me to eat in restaurants due to food allergies. The kitchen team whipped up something great for me that was totally diet compliant and made me so happy! A very special thanks to Ravi who was so patient and accommodating with me and made this possible!
We’ve terribly poisoned with the food in this restaurant today (in ibn battuta branch). Me and my husband ate tge food that we ordered for the baby (french fries and penne with tomato sauce) and now we have awful diarrhea ans vomiting with stomach problems. We didn’t visit anything else today and i’m sure that problems goes from this restaurant. We felt sick in 2 hours after we eat food there.
If you're looking for a calm cute dollhouse environment with a lot of English feel, Shakespeare and Co is the right place. Looks like a person has entered their favorite space. Yummy cakes and friendly staff. One of my favorite place
Not bad at all. The waiters are attentive and they are likely to remember your orders if you visit once in a week. The food to lovely and the portions are really good. I usually go for the warm lentil bowl with shisha
I love this franchise, and it is one of these places where you know what to expect. Like good service, good food, good coffee, and good desserts, too.
I'm only taking 2 stars off it because of two different reasons:
-> One is that at Shakespeare and Co. I've never found anything that was mind-blowing, taste-blowing, something that would get me sort of addicted to it. So, everything is good but not extraordinary.
For that reason, I can't give 5 stars to any branch.
And the 2nd star I took it out only for the Ibn Battuta branch, and I'll explain why:
-》THE BEST SPOT IN THIS RESTAURANT IS RESERVED FOR SMOKERS 《-
COMEON! WHY?: 0
So, if you go in there with your family, you'll probably feel unhappily surprised by the fact that YOU and YOUR KIDDOS, will NOT BE WELCOMED and ALLOWED inside THE MOST FULL of NATURAL LIGHT, NICE, COSY and LIVELY DINNING ROOM.
You'll have to squeeze in the corridor that leads to the HEAVEN'S dining room or to stay at the main entrance, which is super noise and too close to the kitchen.
I think that the WRONG TARGET is being privileged with the best spot! And this feels so unfair to me! After all, family's bills might probably pay for your bills, not smoker's bills.
So give us our most deserved beautiful room for our beautiful families!
Place is really not good! Compared to the one in marina this is literally so bad you want to finish as quickly as possible and leave! Waiters are slow clumsy and they have no concept of greeting or serving the food or preparing the table in proper way! My advise there are many better options in the mall than this one for sure!
Horrible experience. A really racist branch in all honesty. Anyone deemed the right customer is given preference over the south asian crowd! Would not recommend anyone to visit the branch.
There is a very pleasant atmosphere at this restaurant especially the Shisha section. Service was very personal and friendly. My friends enjoyed their shisga while I had a lemon tart. I look forward to coming back.
I just left batuta branch and he said its close for 1 hour however the is ppl inside when we asked he said because i cant handle the place alone is that can be in such shop
Horrible service recently and poor hygiene in dining area, I have been coming to this branch for 10 years and it reached a point I am no longer returning. Currently no acknowledgement of the guest, I have left without placing an order and will be spending my money somewhere else with better service. Larger statue gentleman with glasses seems to be particularly bad waiter and is not destined for customer services. I would give it one star but given my better experiences many years ago I rated it as is.
I've been visiting Shakespeare for the last five years taking my breakfast and they always serve the welcome bread and butter But today i asked them they told me its not allowed and its depending on the stuff who wants to serve the welcome bread or no and they don't want to serve or i should pay for it They were not polite anyway and i was shocked by there attitude
Food quality and taste are amazing. Loyalty program is very rewarding. Staffs are very nice and friendly. But cleanness at shisha section is questionable.
Worst customer service! Second time we came for breakfast in this branch and we felt unsatisfied with the service.
First (few weeks ago), it took us time to wait for almost 30 mins and in the end, we just decided to leave as the crews seem busy with their personal agenda.
Second (today), almost the same experience but since we love the food here, we gave it a second chance. This time, we felt unwelcomed, no smiling crews, and very unhelpful crew. Customer service feeling - ZERO!
Please re-look into your team and maybe they’re forgetting that it’s a service line and us customers supposed to feel that we wanted to come back again. It made our two mornings unforgettable, because it was not a really good start for our first meal.
Great interior, very instagrammable. Food and drink - great variety of things. Tried the shrimp tacos. One of the best one's I've ever had. Also spinach lasagne was also great. Big portion size. Complimentary bread and butter also very good. Love going here! (Also on 2for1 entertainer)
Of all the Shakespeare and Co cafes in Dubai, this one is my favorite. It's one of their larger cafes. The decor is adorable, the service is great, and the food is delicious and well priced. I love dropping by here for breakfast on a weekend morning.
Excellent ambience and sitting area. The truffle burger was a huge let down. The cappuccino was just OK too. The millefeuille and the chocolate fondant with ice cream were excellent and much recommended.
Tried their steak sandwich, which was good. This location is more suitable for a chilled Shisha outing but not much more beyond that. Not a fan of the setting/furniture.
The food is very good and unique and everything set in a Victorian ambience.though a bit on the expensive side. The lamb shank and molten lava cake dessert are not be missed! Very good to celebrate quiet occasions.
A usual favourite for my sisters and I. The Lamb chops are a particular favourite along with other dishes. However, we visited last weekend and the food was mediocre and inexcusably served cold! The Lamb chops were sent back to be heated but came back the same. The Truffle Burgers looked fabulous but were a bit tasteless and cold. Not what you expect when you pay their prices. The redeeming factor was their service which is always superb. The older more experienced waiters are experienced staff that know their dishes really well and are well trained in customer service. One of their more junior staff handled us badly but i did get a call back from the manager who patiently listened, apologised and did invited us back. I genuinely want this place to maintain their prior standards of food quality and service as it has been a favourite of mine since they came to Dubai many many moons ago!
Great food and service. The staff is super friendly, but there were too many flies around which isn't quite pleasant but it's a smoking area and doors are open.
The food is very tasty. The staff are nice. Yet this branch; the indoors are is small and the outdoors area can not be used most months of the year due to either sand or humidity. I suggest a transparent cover for the outdoors area.
The food wasn't as good as I expected, the customer service was a bit better until the "incident". After paying the bill, we realized that we were overcharged, the restaurant agreed to make a refund and after being told everything is settled we left the place. A minute or two after leaving, one of the staff chased us inside the mall with the credit card machine making it look like we skipped paying for the meal. It was embarrassing to say the least.
Cakes at half price after 10pm. Amazing. Waiters are a bit lost though. But it’s ok. It’s half price! They will pack ur cakes in a fancy box but won’t give you forks even if you ask. But it’s ok. It’s half price! Espresso milk cake is a must for coffee lovers.
Went to have dinner, pasta was standard, the Lamb was requested with the Gravy on the side, and of course what happened, the gravy all over the Lamb, thats fine, mistake, the worst was they basically reheated another one in the microwave probably, serving it half warm half cold. To much luxury showoff for such a low quality service, then manager didn't act as supposed, no explanations at all.
Just a great place to dine, relax and even hold meeting with clients. The location is convenient as it is inside the Ibn Batutta mall. Check out their baked goodies and their breakfast menu. You won't be disappointed.at all!
Went there with my friend to watch the world cup final and there is to many free seats but the manager there seems not bother to help and it was easy to say no places available, i suggested him to speak with the people if they don't mind some other people share the table for example a table of 3 seats and only 1 person occupied it and it will be good for your benefits to order food and drinks and also as it's worldwide event and it happened just once a year and it's expected everywhere that strange people are sharing same table, at the end of the argument i spoke with one of the people and asked if we can share the bale, he said of course and we start to watch it together with chat.etc sometimes it's great to think out of the box. Shakespeare was one of my favourite places specially when im starving i direct go there and enjoy the hot bread with the butter but now i feel i was unwelcome and the only reason I stay not because i like Shakespeare, it's because not to miss the final match
