Amazingg experience! I loved the instructor’s way of walking us step by step through the process! She is definitely an expert at what she does, explaining the science behind everything candle related. I walked out of this workshop knowing much more about sustainable ways of making candles, temperature measurements, scents, candle coloring.

Really enjoyed the candle-making workshop with Tahrima! The session was really inspiring and very insightful. Tahrima lead the session beautifully and I really admired her hard work and ethics. Amazing experience in a beautiful place. I attended to the candle making workshop and had a lovely morning. They explained everything really good plus we had delicious Turkish breakfast! Highly recommended.

My daughter decided she wanted an Arts n Craft birthday party with her friends for her 10th birthday. I found Studio Kinza, an online business out of Dubai. I contacted them via WhatsApp and asked to book a date in early January with whom I believe is running the company, Tahrima.  So Miss Tahrima told me that I have to pay for the birthday party in full and in advance. I asked her if I could pay the deposit and settle the rest on the day of service. She agreed to a deposit as long as I settle the whole amount the night before the event. I agreed to that and asked her to send me the payment link. Instead she sent me her personal checking account details. Since it is an online business where I am asked to pay the whole amount upfront and, on top of it, transfer money to a personal account, I was a bit hesitant. Therefore, I asked her if I could have some way to verify that the party will surely be held by the business. What I had in mind is a quotation or a payment receipt with event details.  OMG, I kid you not, this lady did a whole 180 degrees on me and was so offended by my query. She dropped my event and wished me good luck finding another business. I thought maybe the written message is portraying wrong intent, so I sent her a voice message explaining to her that what I mean is a confirmation or a proof of payment, but she kept going back to the word "verification. " She started to mention how she works with big corporations and she knows how to run her business and she knows they require quotation and receipt and she would have provided me with one had I asked for it. I tried to clarify that it is exactly what I had in mind and would be happy to have it, but she wasn't having it.  Things were heating up unnecessarily so I thought maybe best we talk on the phone like adults and start fresh because I have already put so much time and effort into planning this event and my daughter and her friends are super excited for it, so let's just make it work. So I called her only to listen to her rant non-stop. I kept waiting for her to pause, so I could get a word in. Her tone was rough as if she was yelling at me. Then, you guessed it right, she went back to harp on the word verification and how dare I use it. I kept thinking lady, could we just get over it and move on, but there was no reasoning with her. After listening to her rant, I had to stop her and ask her to stop yelling at me. So she did what she could do in her position, she said she will check her calendar and get back to me as she does not think the day I booked a few weeks ago is available any longer.  In any case, I will plan another event for my daughter but I was in total disbelief at what had just happened. I have never experienced anything like this before. Customers are the reason business exists whether it is a corporate event where you bag big profit or a small birthday party. A small birthday party for kids may not be so profitable, but it is the word of mouth that will bring you more business.  My advice to Miss Tahrima is to hire an employee to answer your phone calls, so if you have had a long day and do not have patience to answer queries of customers, someone else can take the load off your shoulders. In any business, there are no "stupid" questions asked by customers. Let's be real, it is part of the business to answer questions and if you are annoyed by it or take it personally, it is time to bring in a third person to manage it for you.  In short, customer service is truly lacking. You are trying to grow a small business and my advice can come really handy for you- Work On Your Customer Service! Financial queries are purely part of business, so please do not take them personally. Secondly, do not go on a power trip and cancel events because you have the upper hand. Of course, the customer will face problems in the short term, but will eventually find another business who treats them respectfully; however, you will lose clients one at a time.

The candle making workshop was super well organized and narrated. The team was well prepared, made it easy and fun. The selected venue was also super nice. My candle turned out perfect and the fact the owner donates to supply solar light to the Malawian people is an incredible incentive to support the business.

Attended the candle making brunch workshop in a lovely venue-excellent way to learn come home with your own candle and enjoy some Turkish breakfast. Really recommend!
