Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai

Before I begin my complaint, I would like to state that I am a student who has been attending this school for over 8 years. I have been here ever since this school first opened. I am writing this on behalf of not just myself, but my peers, my friends, and most importantly, the many other pupils in this school. I have been attending for the longest time compared to any other student, and I have seen firsthand the issues with this establishment, and that is why I am writing this.

1.    STAFF AND STUDENTS
The staff at this school are quite lousy, they do not enjoy teaching at this establishment. More often than not they yell at the kids just to be perfect and absolutely in line. Sounds very unprofessional and aggressive from their side. But the students are also not much better. They lack manners and don’t know how to treat others right: in my many years of attending, I have seen numerous instances of kids (especially younger children) bullying their classmates, and worst of all, the staff has done nothing to stop it – no intervention has been put out by the teachers. They couldn’t even be bothered to consult the counselor for assistance. That is literally the counselor’s job!

2.    CAFETERIA FOOD
i.          What should I even say about this? Nothing short of awful. They claim to serve the children “nutritious food necessary for a child’s growth”, but it is obviously a blatant lie. It is awful having to consume what they provide. The food is so bland, it has no flavor and I do not enjoy eating it at all. They run out so fast, it’s like they almost don’t even consider how many starving mouths they have to feed, and this ends up taking time out of our lunch break to just sit around and wait for them to refill. No thank you! It would be much easier for parents to just pack student’s lunches, but for those who cannot, they should immediately reconsider signing their children up for the school food. Absolutely dreadful.

3.    ENTRY FEES
i.          Don’t even get me started with this. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. Who let the school demand such atrocious prices? There’s no way these executives are actually sane. Almost 72 THOUSAND AED just for kindergarten. Who would actually pay for this “education”? 102 thousand just for 6th grade? !? Hello? !? Are they hearing themselves? This is utterly absurd. And they don’t stop there. Nearly 130 Thousand just for college? Absolutely unacceptable for any parent.

4.    PARKINGLOTS
i.          For any parents, it would be nothing short of an understatement to say that the parking lots in the school entrance is an utter nightmare. It’s so overcrowded, it would take maybe 10 min just to find one spot, and only at the last minute for some rude, snobby adult to steal the slot you’ve been waiting for. This daunting schedule happens every single day for the whole school year – both in the mornings and afternoons. Some parents buy unnecessary ultra-expensive cars like Ferraris and Rolls Royce just to brag and flex their riches. It infuriates me to see such rich-people cars in the parking lot. It’s a blatant waste of money. This is a school for god’s sake, not a fashion show or auction or whatever!

-I’d like to add that the owners do not thoroughly read the reviews at all. They copy and paste the exact same response, and only on the 5 star reviews. They actively avoid the reviews that suggest improvements, and they don’t bother to even try and change these things in the school. Such a major disappointment from their side: (

12th, 9th 6th grade.
This school is miserable organizing everything.
They are changing in middle of the school year the IT Plattform.
No emails are working, no manage bac.nothing is working! And that in the exame period.

As a student of this school I would like to speak the truth since I experience it. Food is very bad quality, if you not paying 40 extra dirham for lunch you have the option to buy cheaper snacks which consist of sweet, salty or regular bread. This is absolutely ridiculous for the amount parents are paying.

It was a very disappointing experience with one of the child of our client. Parents hoped that the child would make friendships and continue at the school when placing the child there.

The child complained about the food and it's just unbelievable how a school at such a price tag can't arrange high quality healthy and good food for the school children.

The most disappointing part was the fact that the child was bullied by other students. The school staff did nothing to stop or address that issue. When the child had to deal with it himself he responded to the attacks and he got punished. Instead of involving a counselor or a psychologist or at least having a conversation with all the kids involved, the school staff places the kid alone in his room without letting him even have meals in the dining area!

Though the school has the Swiss in the name, but has nothing to do with Switzerland or Swiss anything at all.

The morale in this headteacher's last school was so low. The environment was toxic. She wanted to come into the school and make it outstanding using bully tactics. Did it work? No it did not! So much for an experienced educator! Reading through the reviews it seems as if this was a good school under the last CEO unless negative reviews are deleted. Hope this continues under the present one as she created a climate of fear from the top down at her last school. Oh, wellbeing and kindness coming from her is hypocrisy. It is not sincere merely for the sake of appearance. Her management style is dictatorial and authoritarian which I hope has being modified in her role at this school.

This school is amazing! Much better than the one before which had a lot of rude people and they were all very mean. The environment is amazing especially the big library, it’s my favorite place to hangout in. Lots of nice teachers as well.

I have had my 2 kids since the first year of the school in both primary and secondary. School fees are extremely. Turn over of teachers and management has always been high, unable to provide kids and parents a consistant educationnal experience. I always felt the founders are more focused on the business and profit side of the school rather than the education spirit and standards of the school. School ratings are average for the price you pay. After 5 years in this school not sure if i would recommend.whenever we had few teachers making the positive difference they leave as they r not happy. The support depart in the school was always highly appreciated but again most of them left.

Very nice school. Got an opportunity to visit the school based on a corporate sports championship. The school is amazing. Loved every bit of sports corner.

Great school, very nice and polite teachers, that are free to questions, but i think that there are too many applications and websites that we have to utilize.else the school is great.

I used to go to this school, and honestly the only thing your're paying for is the facilities. I only had one good teacher, the rest of them pretend to be nice when the parents are around but its a different story when the parents leave. Honestly some teachers are not qualified to teach and a lot of them have anger issues. The maths department is really bad and overall this school is very fake. The good reviews are from parents who dont know what happens in the class rooms, but I am a student who attended 7th and 8th grade in the school. So take it from me.

When I moved, It was nice to see the teachers who were very polite. The school is really big and modern, with a lot of facilities. My son has learned a lot in SISD and is also making friends. It was a huge improvement from his old school. Only thing is it could be expensive for some people and the Arabic language department is not that good.
