My vat refund was done here. They gave me so much depreciated value for the refund. Really disappointing.

Fraud they give very less exchange rates they provided only 3500AED for 4100 QAR. But in there website story was totally different.

My husband and I had beautiful experience with Merian. Her approach and customer service was excellent.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with travelex Dubai. Despite requesting a direct conversion to GBP, they never mentioned that they would first convert Mauritius rupees to UAE Dirham and then to the desired currency, effectively penalizing me twice. I ended up losing over 40% of the exchanged money's value! They refused to reverse the transaction.

Sneaky practices in my opinion and for anyone else wanted to convert directly then be sure to stipulate/request this on the offset. Lesson learnt on my part but very bad experience with travelex Dubai.

I met with Anna at the DXB Terminal 3. She was friendly, personable and quite helpful. I genuinely appreciated that.

Avoid Avoid Avoid! Very expensive compare to other currency exchange retailer, commissions on exchange is daylight robbery.

Don't exchange your hard earned money from Travelex because:
1.the exchange rate is VERY low (their rate: 3.60AED for 1USD, Others Rate: 3.65AED for 1USD)
2. They charge Commission, which other currency exchangers DON'T charge.
3. AND they have a FEE which is 8 times higher than others. (Their Fee: 25AED, Others Fee: 3.10AED)

Better get your money exchanged from outside.

They sell and buy with very low rate please don’t ever change currency with them. They scammed me and many others and didn't give me half of my money. I was tired from the flight and it was 5 o'clock in the morning and my cell phone was off and I couldn't calculate it that time. When I went to the hotel, I found out that they gave me half of my money. In fact they find their hunt at airport, tired and newly arrived passengers! Shame on them!

The worst exchange rates on Dubai airport, first they convert to AED and than to any other currency, we were cheated and misguided while changing USD to Georgia Lari, the person (dont want to mention the name) said that you will not get these rates in Georgia and it will be much lower. We believed and was surprised to see the rates there which were almost double, we lost almost 400 AED, while returning back we checked again with another exchange jus opposite to travelx in dubai airport departure and the guy directly said to get it in georgia as you will get good prices there. Travelx counter was not ready to listen and not supporting. That’s worst customer satisfaction and experience.
They are 0 in both. Big scammers and cheaters. Will never use n recommend in my circle

Absolutely scammed yesterday by this mob. Waiting for our connection thought id change some euro inti Cz Koruna. As well as charging 10%, tax n commision, gave me change in emirati coins (absolutely useless) and a rate of 16 to the euro. Present rate is 24 to the euro. I was a mug but that is shocking. Cant wait to visit them on my return journey. Got the receipt in my hand.

They have worst rates (WE buy rates). You will be charged 3 times:
1.by low rates they gives (while you sleepy and tired after long flight you don’t realise) that’s their chance.
2. High commission charge which is unlimited the more you exchange the more you will be charged.
3. Buy back - if you struggling with your English they will charge without explaining to customers properly.

Travelex at Dubai Airport is a counter waiting for its prey to rip off like a scape goat, my dear colleagues and travellers they give.low exchange rates, they charge you with hidden costs like commission and fees without declaring and informing the passengers prior. I wud say the female staff are well trained to be opportunistic by being silent when they identity u tired in a night flight.just an example if you exchange 100 euros with travelex you get 390 dirhams and if you change in the city you get 430 dirhams. 40 dirhams per hundred euros is taken by them.don't don't even think to exchange forex at airports if you want appropriate value of you hard earned savings get it exchanged in Dubai City anywhere.my advice to Travelex is that why don't you operate your business like the money exchangers in the dubai city do.in fact you may get more turnover, revenue and profit at par.

I got scammed too.
I was under the false impression that a company operating at the reputed international airport of Dubai will be regulated, transparent and will have standard rates.
They NEVER QUOTED THE COMMISSION BEFORE CHARGING and I too acted like a fool, as i Never asked.
They charged me a 2.8% commission i.e around 300AED.
Also gave me a rate of 3.6 instead of 3.67.so overall I got hit by 5%.
TOTAL SCAMMERS.
I dont understand how they are allowed to operate at the airport. Dubai authorities in case you are listening please do something.

I had to buy some rubbles last December 31,2019 and the guy in the counter told me that I can pay by debit or credit card. I asked him if I pay by credit card, will it be considered a cash advance purchased from my bank? He told me NO! It will just be a regular credit transaction. Now, receiving my billing statement, I was charged of AED105 for VAT and Cash Advance FEE! How was that>? Is this how you fool customers>?

It is absolutely a scam of cheating people. O just exchanged AED tO indian Rupee at Dubai International Airport Terminal 1. They charged me an exchange rate of 0.0585. Just oyt of curiosity, I walked up the other currency exchange centre 30 meters away and the exhange rate was 0.0555. So AED 30 for every 10000. In addition they chargea a commission of AED 15. What do you call it other than a scam? They ahould not be allowed to operate in this country especially considering the fact that Dubai as a city have always propgated fair and transparent business dealings. Absolute cheaters. When you go back and ask them, they are absolutely arrogant. I urge Dubai Economic Department to look into this very seriously. I have the transaction details with me and make ir available if need be.

Really surprise how can Dubai Government allow such bad service and scammers in Dubai airport terminal 3 arrival?
The lowest rate in the country, and charging crazy commission charges which is never to be found in the UAE? !

اسوء خدمة و اقل سعر صرف في الدولة و اعلي عمولة اللي مش موجوده أصلا في اي صرافه في الدولة.
صرف لي ١٠٠ دولار أمريكي علي فقط ٣٤٤، مع العلم ان السعر الرسمي ٣٦٧

Very worst. They told me to come back aftet 30 mim because they having exam. And saying to much reason to avoid my transaction. Seriously during duty hours. Asking customer to come back. I will not recommend this exchange to anyone.

Don't got here! Apart from making profit from the exchange rate they charge commission AND fee and VAT on it! So, I got for 100 EUR the equivalent value of 83 EUR. Not to mention, they will round down to your disadvantage and keep the change.

Day light looting on exchange rate at Sharjah airport. My parents were traveling back to India after their vacation and the tax free (vat refund office) at Sharjah airport gave option for refund of tax either cash or account transfer. My parents opted for cash back and they were then directed to travelex exchange for the vat refund of AED 408. Upon reaching the exchange they were asked to wait for 15 minutes then after the waiting they informed you will take only INR for unknown reasons. Finally they exchanged the currency @ 0.0606 while the actual rate is 0.052. Hope authorities will take some action on this.

Horrible customer service. Asked to break 100 dollars into smaller denominations the staff member refused and said its company policy to not do that. I asked where does it say that she just didn’t respond and ignored me. I asked her to at least address me properly and she continued to ignore. HORRIBLE.
