I tried to order here two days a row, but the attitude quickly turned me down. There are five people behind the counter, and each one either asks what you want or tells you about promotions. Sorry, I couldn’t decide under the pressure and being constantly distracted.

Umami Japanese Kitchen: Authentic Japanese Delivered

The delivery from Umami Japanese Kitchen offered an authentic taste of Japan, right to the comfort of my home. The Yaki Udon Noodles were a flavorful journey with perfect seasoning, and the Umami Ramen's spicy broth was both warming and exquisite. Even the Chicken Gyoza had the right balance of tender filling and crisp exterior. This place is a go-to for those craving genuine Japanese cuisine delivered with care.

Ordered grilled salmon bento through Talabat. The food looks like a leftover from yesterday’s prep. Rice & salmon are not warm. Sushi rolls are not cold. Shrimp tempura looks soaked in oil for a long time than it normally would. The fork is missing its original partner. There is no straw for the canned beverage.

Tried bento box here at Umami. Its was good. Service was good as well.
Overall good experience.

This review is for umami at 2nd level. Customer service and empathy is downright worst. Doesn't know how to talk politely to customers. Food quality is also not good. White liquid was coming out of sushi.
Quantity for ginger and wasabi was hardly enough for 3 sushi.

I tried Ramen Before from a different restaurant,
It was 10 times better than Umami Ramen.

The chicken and beef doesn't taste good at all,
The presentation is bad, Overall very bad experience,

If you haven't tried Ramen before, don't try it from this restaurant

The showcase has different and they serve different. When questioned - they keep repeating that they are correct.
Food tastes bad
They don’t know how to cook Japanese food, and serve.
The prices are super high.
It’s a big scam here.

I haven’t read any online reviews about this shop before visiting it. Ordered Dashi Ramen with Prawn Tempura and Beef gyoza. I received my order within 20 minutes and everything about the service was perfect. The food was really delicious too!

Located in the Dubai Mall food court which was not crowded when we went.

We ordered ramen bowls and sashimi. The ramen servings were small but tasted tasted good.

It's late at night now and I've been feeling sick since 4pm. I should not have eaten that chicken and salad that I returned.
Really disappointed and feel I have been badly treated for calmly asking for a plate of food to be delivered hygienically.

The Slowest service ever for a fast food company. Keep you away if you hungry.
My coke has been filled 1 hours ago and it still waiting other foods to serve, imagine how bad drink i ll get.

Poor service.we received wrong food after waiting for almost 1hour.we order ramen and beef bento but they give salmon.and the lady on that night didn't even say anything or apologize as well.they change only the salmon coz i can taste it on the rice.everything is cold and didn't enjoy the food.

It is not a place to eat sushi! The tuna was black on the surface.sushi is ordered in a safe and certified restaurant! We felt bad.
We were wrong to trust.

I always order Chicken Katsu Curry, Chicken Don or Chirashi Don, at least 3 times a week. Today I order Katsu curry and the portion was so poorly served, I am extremly dissatisfied with the product provided. Even the curry had few vegetable in it when usually the portion are enough for 1 person, I had to order food later on.

The girl order taker was very racist, we had to leave the place since she wasn’t taking our order and was prioritizing European’s behind us and avoided us when we spoke to her. Very racist restaurant. Doesn’t even want to experience anymore!

Fast food. More like slow food. We waited nearly an hour for our teriyaki beef. An absolute joke. The food was good when we did finally get it though.

Worst japonese restaurant I’ve tested. The salmon was really poor quality in pokebowl I really advise against

Food took ages to prepare and after 35 mins waiting both miso soup is cold, beef donburi and katsudon is cold as well and the worst part serving gyoza with 2 pcs of hair stick on the gyoza wrapp. And by the way side salad no good also. Give 1/2 star if possible only softdrinks is good. Lol

The worst place no standards. Removed your show stand as you display sample which very far from reality.

Were there 20min before 12. Waitress was not motivated, she told they are opening in 20min. So we went back again, ordered the poke rice which is presented in the desk. Lady told us, it's not available. Disappointing, will not go again. If menus not available, please remove the samples. And try to be friendly with guests.

Wanting to have a fast Japanese cuisine, Umami is the perfect place to go to. It is located in the food court of The Dubai Mall.

The umami ramen at 28 dirhams is reasonable enough considering the good taste. And chicken katsu is also delicious. The Japanese authenticity is there.

It was a nice try here. Cravings granted.

Just came down Burj tired and hungry and wow.a japanesse fast food.ordered a salmon bento box, mami ramen chcken and beef gyoza.waiting.verdict pass.flavor authentic japanesse.

I tried Salmon Don. This restaurant is too costly for what they provide. The taste is okay. The quantity is very less when compared to the demo bowls they have placed in their desk. Choose this place if you wish to taste the Japanese food and you are not hungry.

Don't understand bad reviews at all. Their chicken teriyaki is delicious. For 8 Euros it can't get any better than that.

TO FLEE! UMAMI Dubai Mall, your manager is ruining your image!

So I don't even know where to start because the experience I had was so surreal! It's Saturday, February 19, it's around 11 p.m. That night at the Dubai Mall's Food Court. We are 2 parents and 2 young children! We are the last Umami customers, we order 2 already wrapped sushi platters that we are served immediately, a noodle dish and a bowl of miso soup, a priori nothing extraordinary. Well, I had to wait about twenty minutes for ONLY ONE DISH of noodles (I remember that we were the last customers) and later I realize that didn't serve us miso soup. My husband will kindly explain their mistake to them, the manager tells him that there are no more, she offers him a drink instead. I already have several liters of drink at my table, I refuse. So you think she's going to apologize for her mistake? A sensible person would apologize and my husband was going to take this drink that she ABSOLUTELY IMPOSED on him! Well NO, she blows in his face several times, speaks to him in a very disrespectful way (because he didn't want his drink) and when he makes her understand that his attitude is not professional, that it has absolutely nothing to do with the reimbursement of 6 ridiculous dirhams, she starts shouting Oh my GOD! OH MY GOD. Because I intervened by reminding her that it was SHE who had made the mistake and that we were the customers! This MANAGER displayed us in front of everyone with her cinema (she was shouting Oh my god)

This disrespectful manager ruined our evening, obviously I won't stop there.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and especially THANK YOU for your apologies that we did not have at any time. (Again I had the impression that she was the customer so she was not happy that we refused her drink). Also, I would like to tell you about something much more serious that you should teach your employees, to SHOUT "OH MY GOD" repeatedly in the faces of Muslims like us, for such trivial things is terribly offensive. I dare not imagine if she had had the same attitude with an Emirati or a Saudi. It may be NORMAL in his culture but bordering on blasphemy in ours because we are forbidden to pronounce the name of God in vain!

Veeeeery slow. The food is kinda ok, but not well well cooked. The waiting time was then a bit too long. Overall the price is fair, the food is barely acceptable but many things could be improved, like the accuracy of cooking and dressing for vegetables which was missing

Due to the wait, would have thought they were making everything from scratch. The results would reflect otherwise. It was just okay

I had ramen for the first time today here at Umami and they absolutely did not disappoint. It was everything I expected it to be and more. So full of flavour and not to mention picture perfect! The staff was so friendly too; they very happily explained what to expect with each ramen dish and recommended the tempura ramen. I'm glad they did. I'll definitely be going back!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I really enjoyed the food, even though I'd like a bit more veggies in that bowl, or having the rice spiced. However, the chicken was flavorful enough, so that when it was mixed all together, it was a good dish. That being said, my order was mixed up, which I noticed after sat down to eat it. I could have asked for it to be re-done, but honestly, I waited for a long time to be served in the first place, I was extremely hungry and in a hurry to finish, to see the fountain show. So yeah, I ate it and liked it, but there were some issues.

Ordered beef teriyaki and be prepared for a bit of a wait.
Staff were friendly.
Food was good when received.

Waiting time is unbelievable. 25 minutes for the order! So be ready just in case for a random luck to be waiting for ages to get your order done.

Isn’t amazing to find Japanese Cuisine in the food court of Dubai Mall? I was there to eat brunch coz I got so hungry walking around the mall. Then I found Umami Restaurant in the food court that serves so many tempting dishes. I chose Umami Ramen, I know it’s one of their best sellers and I asked to make it spicy. WOW! Is the only word I can say to this soup bowl. BURP!

I had ordered the best-selling Ramen, and the gyoza. The ramen looked similar to Ichiraku's ramen- you would get what I mean if you were a Naruto fan- and the gyoza was decent. Unfortunately, I had to wait around 2 minutes for my food to get ready.

Visited Dubai Mall and had a quick lunch at the food court. With the various options I could have, I ended up ordering this grilled salmon in Umami Restaurant. I was so hesitant to order from Umami since I haven't tried it before but their amazing food display caught my attention. So, I gave it a try.
And, tadaaa! I made a good decision of trying this. I'm not even a fan of seafood but this dish is an exception.

The ramen is a joke. Meat is like chewing gum. I couldn’t eat it. Smells old like it spent some time in the fridge and then it was just heated in microwave. We had also some teriaki chicken which was ok. But please don’t order ramen, you will be disappointed.

I have tried different Ramens from different restaurants here in Dubai. I must say that Umami, even in a food court setting, is the best I had. The broth is tasty, meat is tender, and the noodles is cooked just right. My favorite is the chili garlic ramen. I always eat here whenever I see their shop in the food court.
