Disappointing Experience on a Special Occasion

We visited the restaurant with high hopes, especially since we were celebrating a birthday and had made a reservation clearly stating the occasion. The food, while good in taste, came with its own set of issues. The wait time between the appetizers and mains was excessively long, significantly dampening our enthusiasm and interest in the meal.

Despite informing the staff twice about the birthday - once at the time of booking and again upon our arrival - the occasion went unacknowledged. No effort was made to wish the birthday person or to make the evening special in any way. When I brought this up as we were leaving, the response was lackluster. Initially, they excused themselves by saying they were busy, a claim that seemed unfounded since only four tables were occupied. Upon further discussion, they shifted the blame to being busy with deliveries, which did not justify the neglect we felt during our dine-in experience.

The lack of attention to detail and the poor handling of a special occasion left much to be desired. It was disheartening to see such a casual approach to customer service, especially on a day that was meant to be memorable. Unfortunately, the entire evening’s mood was spoiled by these oversights, and the experience was a letdown. This was not what we expected, and it certainly put a damper on our celebration

Second time back to the restaurant, overall experience very disappointing, fried chicken is not fresh you can taste the special taste when you eating. As my experience is becoz the chicken was keeping longtime in the refrigerator. Sizzling beef rib is overcooked and meat is very hard not easy to eat, Yangzhou fried rice is salty! Hmmm totally different from my first visit! Maybe the chef is different now!

Ordered their food from deliveroo and it did not disappoint.

Their dimsum is so good, I also tried their beef vegetable soup and fish fillet with soy sauce and it was very authentic!

It was a waste of money! The food took so long and it was not that good. I ordered sweet and sour chicken couldn't even eat it and told the waiter and he didn't even care. The only eatable thing was the steamed broccoli with garlic sauce that was tasty.

Very disappointing experience, food items were very oily and salty reminded me of Chinese fast food and not an “authentic Chinese cuisine” as they claim, also the service level was way below standard.

Very disappointed. Ordered steam fish with mushroom as per the menu, but told the fish does'nt come with mushroom. If it doesnt come with mushroom then don't put it on the menu. The fish came with very tiny bones inside. Very bland.needed to add soya sauce to give it some flavour. Ordered brocolli with garlic sauce but it came with no garlic and tasteless. Had to send it back. There was an offer of 20% discount for Repeat customers but when i came to pay the bill the discount was not given as they say it closes at 9,30 pm. Where does it say that? They make up rules without informing the customers. Absolutely terrible. The food was terrible, service was okay but nobody there to respond to my complaints.

Great atmosphere with amazing outdoors seating, their food is amazing but the staff can improve, this is now one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Dubai

Super friendly staff, awesome view and actually one of the memorable places for dating or just for a great evening with the lovely ones.

Delicious food and great value.
I had the Singapore noodles and shredded beef with chilli and orange peel. Just what the doctor ordered.
I would like to see the shredded duck with pancakes available for one person.

Terrible…. Everything except the view and the green tea. The food extremely mediocre and the service really unprofessional. Don’t even think about trying the seaweed salad. They serve the food lukewarm and almost tasteless.

Used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant as it is near my house but hey, I'm not happy with my recent dining experience.

Totally disappointed with the team of waiters seems not willing to work, long face, hesitated. Maybe the owner wasn't there to supervise. I feel bad for this.

Food portion downsized, a main dish with the portion of two scoops, three max.

Amazing environment and good service. Some of the food is delicious. We had visited several times. Highly recommend the SZECHWAN STYLE FISH FILLET WITH PICKLED VEGETABLES.

An authentic Chinese restaurant that serves probably one of the best chinese cuisines in Dubai.

Everything I’ve had here has been excellent. Legit Chinese food made with love. Not the typical drive thru type of Chinese food.

We visited Yang Zhou restaurant for lunch and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were all very welcoming and hospitable.
We ordered multiple dishes to try and were not disappointed by any. We had Mongolian beef and Kung pao chicken along with fried rice and noodles. They were made to perfection
We will definitely become frequent visitors!

Excellent food, Great Ambience, prompt service. This is a great place to have Chinese in the meadows village. Next to the lake has some very good views too

Good service and can feel that the ingredients they use are fresh. Bao is hand made but a little bit oily.

Nice ambience and food like the Mongolian Beef, Vegetable Noodles, Sweet and Sour Chicken and most especially the Dimsum. Must visit

A new and authentic Chinese restaurant in the heart of Emirates Hills, great service and warm hospitality of the Filipino manager and great cooking & food taste by the Chinese chef, will surely recommend to friends and colleagues in the UAE.

I ordered Wok Fried Crispy Beef and Rice. Texture is soft and crunchy. Thanks for the recommendation Jereme.

A pleasant addition of authentic Chinese restaurant in Emirates Living area. Wonderful and tasty selection of dim sum which is my favorite.

Flies in the bottle of vinegar for dim sum. I point this out to the waiter, so he brings back a (very dirty) bottle of soya sauce instead. I point out he’s brought me soya sauce rather than vinegar, so he then offers white vinegar instead of the more delicate darker vinegar usually on offer. I say no and ask for what they’re supposed to serve, just with fewer flies. He then brings me a tiny bowl of the darker more delicate vinegar (rather than a bottle as normal) and accompanies this with the statement “I get this from the kitchen, sir. ” I’m then expected to believe that this is new fresh vinegar rather than from the original bottle with flies. This would have been more convincing if it weren’t for being offered soya sauce and white vinegar as alternatives previously.

The spicy mixed noodles are way over priced and were served lukewarm. We only ordered these as they had run out of fried noodles.

The mushrooms in the hot and sour soup seem to be from a can, or at best, are frozen.

The fried veg and mushroom was good but not good enough to warrant an extra star. I definitely wouldn’t go back.

The restaurant is definetley a hidden gem. First of all the view is amazing. Second the food is good, fresh, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the dim sum.

A hidden gem in the Meadows, Family friendly, Amazing food and service, a view of the big lake comes as a bonus, food quality is super good. Highly recommended, price is more than reasonable.

I strongly recommend this restaurant, no 1.they have a very nice ambience you can relax and have a good time, they strongly implement social distance and everything is hygienic and well sanitized and 2. They have a wide variety of authentic chinese cuisine and all taste very good,
