Beautiful historical site that is currently awaiting unesco evaluation. Visited during the fine arts event happening there. A great place to explore and learn the art works. Also a great place for IG photos!
Guess it'd be creepier at night, glad to go on daylight.urbex is fun, amazed how are old village look like and what they had centuries ago. Thought a bathtub but is actually a deep well. Scared to see Sadako. Still had water in it. Instagramable fans would thought it isn't interesting, but my friends actually had fun taking instagramable photos.
It's also famous as ghost Village as I were told a person who was visiting that place, it's surprising for me, it's historical place and you will love to visit entire village with ancient structure and mud house very old construction.
A beautiful and historic place to visit in the UAE. It's history of over 300 years is definitely worth a visit. Jazirat al-Hamra is the only historical pearling town in the Gulf, which survived the modernisation and fast development after the discovery of oil. While the majority of buildings are modest summer and winter houses surrounding a courtyard, examples of rich residences and homes of pearl traders can also be found. Today, Jazirat al-Hamra’s narrow alleyways connect a conglomerate of courtyard houses, suq buildings, mosques, and a fort with watchtowers, all built from coral stones and fossil beach rock in layer technique.
The place was empty, maybe because of the Ramadan or maybe due to the summer season. Nice place to visit when is open. Paying a visit here, the tourists will have the chance to learn something about Arabic culture, as the village dates back to as early as 17th century
Ghost Town of Ras Al Khaimah - Al Jazirah Al Hamra (English: The Red Island) is a town to the south of the city of RAK, UAE. It is known for its collection of abandoned houses and other buildings, including a mosque, which are widely believed locally to be haunted. The town was ruled by the Zaab tribe, which was rehoused in Abu Dhabi following a dispute with the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. The buildings were built from coral stones, held together by mud and covered by a roof of woven date palms, much like the other pre-oil era buildings in the area. It’s incredible to think that they’ve withstood the tests of time, through hundreds of years of blazing sun, biting sandstorms and tribal conflicts.
Good for visit, its knows as zinni area, zinni means ghost, but i was there long time but i never saw ghost. Some times i saw people are shooting ghost movie.
People says its a hunting and ghost village. We went there mid night 1 o'clock to see the ghosts but all the ghosts ran alway when they saw us.lollzz.no ghost left, so stay calm and go and enjoy the visit at mid night now.
Its a very nice place to visit. I heard about its a ghost place but when i visit the site i didn't found any ghost or any mysterious creature. But any how they saved this site as old tradition and its a watchable place.
It is not really a ghost town. It is partially deserted.
During my visit I could people staying in some houses. So properties were under renovation or construction. There are some old houses which a completely deserted. These can look creepy at night. It's a one time go.
This village is situated in Ras AL Khaimah state of Uae. This village was abodend by the residents long ago due to some unknown reasons. Some says it was because of the ghosts.
Although it was an adventure to visit this place in the night.
It was a great experience to go through the ruined homes, mosques and other buildings of this village.
Now some expats started to live here and you can find a lot of people here.
This area is covered now and you can access from 2,3 designated points only.
Nothing much to see there, except some old abandoned buildings. No boday lives on those and can be seen some new constuctions going on around buildings.you can drive around the old buildings.
This is an ancient town abandoned in the late 70s with a lot of history. In the old days the fishermen's wives and children lived here during the winters, and then in the mountains during the hot summers. The houses were built from shells from the beach as far as I know. Interesting place, which is under renovation to convert it into a museums village. Will be great when it is finished.
Going to this place in the middle of the night was full of fun and pranks. However in the morning it’s just a town that no one lives in good for photography because it has old UAE building styles.
If you are going in the night: Make sure you bring flash lights because there is holes and rocks that are not stable.there is other people going to the town as well so don’t freak out when you hear people walking or see people in the distant. There is a beautiful sandy natural beach nearby. Worth a swim.
