We had a great time with the team building activities. The instructors were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for adventure and team building activities. They have camping facilities and more.

Amazing place. The cabin was clean the stuff was friendly. The BBQ was adequate and clean. The kids had a great time. We BBQed and made obstacle course as well as a nice hike between the mountain. The place was peaceful and the mountain was outstanding. Thanks for a nice experience. The only thing about the cabin it needs the window to open so we can get some nice fresh air

An absolutely incredible place that gives you the opportunity to spend time in nature and breathe in fresh mountain air.
Suitable for both active tourists eager to explore the area and take a survival course, and calm ones who just want to fry meat and take a break from the bustle of the city.

From the road, the camp seems small, but in fact everything there is so well organized that each house has enough space and no one disturbs anyone.
The houses themselves are tiny, but they have all the necessary amenities. The only thing is, take your own hair dryer if you are going to wash your hair.
You can accommodate three people, but I would still recommend these houses only for two.

The winter months are quite cool, so choose the right not only outdoor clothes, but also pajamas or something similar to keep you comfortable while inside.

My son and I had a great experience on the Bear Grylls rope course, expertly supported by Wendy!
13 June 2023 17:37
Very good cabins. Fire pits, chairs bbq equipments.they have it. Good for a quick get away.
31 May 2023 3:10
The staff are not too friendly, so don't expect too much. Be prepared to pay for any activity, as there is nothing included. The rooms are good, nice showers, good air conditioning. I am not sure I would go again, but I still recommend for those adventurers and mountains lovers.
29 May 2023 21:08
Really good experience. I really pushed to my limits. Don’t go if you don’t wanna face your fear. There’s also a hiking trail if you cross that camp which was worth it.
Summer isn’t the best time to go.try going early
13 May 2023 20:13
The instructor Tee from South Africa was really cool and did very well. And the team is so kind to customers. Highly recommended Y.

We booked a cabin for one night during the week, it was quiet which we prefer.the camp is really nice, staff was friendly and accommodating.the cabin is basic (which you expect from a camp) but very clean, a lot of storage spaces.private BBQ place and a common bonfire pit are available. Since it was during the week, we had the bonfire for ourselves.no wifi or TV.an immersion in nature. I would come back again next season.please bring with you charcoal and wood for the bonfire.will save you money.it is also pet friendly:)

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Bear Grylls camp. The place was clean, accommodation was super considering where we were, and more than sufficient for two nights. The children (8 & 7) enjoyed the open space, hiking close by and high ropes. Would definitely recommend.
17 March 2023 14:57
The cabins are spacious and all the staff I interacted with were amazing. Looking forward to next visit.
11 March 2023 14:21
Booked a campsite only for a day, it was alright. Cleanliness is lacking in the cabins, bathrooms and the utensils were not very clean. The organizers could pay attention to this. The location is close to the Jebel Jais Sledder. A walk into the mountains can be taken, rock formations are very nice. You will find plenty of goats around. Barbecue facilities are good, better to bring your own stuff as the prices are overrated in case you decide to buy firewood or coal onsite.
25 February 2023 16:35
Excellent adventure place for outdoor lovers.
1.5 hours driving from Dubai.

You can find lots of activities for the whole family and friends
09 February 2023 23:21
Superb place and welcoming team. Clean and cozy cabinets. Our guide, France for adventure rides was so patient and humble with my children. Also the incharge Zeeshan was very compassionate and cooperative.
06 February 2023 4:58
Great experience! We did hiking and abseliling which lasted for 2.25 hours. Instructors were friendly and patient!

Big shoutout to Fernando! He was fun to hike with and very knowledgeable as well.

Will definitely do it again.only feedback is that hiking trail should be little longer.and point from where hiking starts should be drop point.as that's unnecessary walk- rather focus should be on real hike!
06 January 2023 3:28
We had an awful experience since arrival. They charge more than a 5 star hotel and don’t offer as much as a drop of water, shower gel, assistance with anything. There is reception in the morning to help with anything which I wondered should there be an emergency. I have stayed in many trailers in the UAE, hatta, Al Ain and they have been wonderful experiences. This has by far been one of my most disappointing trips.
29 December 2022 21:22
The camp is good and as expected, however booking activities with them was a bit of a scam.
While booking, we were promised 30 mins per person for archery. However the instructors were in a rush and decided to go for 30 mins archery for the entire group, giving us 6 mins per person. Definitely not worth it and the instructors were super rude (as if we were doing those without paying money!)

As an apology, reception staff offered to give complimentary archery vouchers for next trip (which is not sufficient compensation in my opinion as we didn't get the activity we paid for), but even those vouchers were never delivered.

Nice location, nice concept, management is a pity.

We arrived to the camp at 5pm after a long drive from Oman to be told that we had to pre-book any food we wanted 1-2 days prior to arriving. After a discussion with the staff about having had no previous warning regarding the food issue, they agreed to call restaurant to organize extra meals. They showed us a menu which gave 2 options of “barbecue box” or “vegetarian box”. We also ordered breakfast for the next day. We ordered 5 boxes and breakfasts for the price of 875dhs.
3 hours later the food arrived and to our surprise the meat was uncooked.
Now we are not unreasonable and are veryaware we booked a “glamping” style area but the communication was poor fromthe beginning with regards to food, not being informed of having to cook the food we’d paid alot of money for and nobody arriving down to pre-heat our BBQ or atleast inform us to do so. Then we needed to pay 60dhs for the charcoal in order to cook the food!

The activities all cost extra and for the pleasure of a hike we had to pay another 125dhs each. For the price of 2 cabins for 1 night was 3290dhs and we would be expected for one activity to be included in this.

Again for the price of 3290dhs for 2 cabins there is zero included. No hike, no water in the rooms. There was a shop for snacks which was over priced and the coffee machine providing coffee for 12dhs a cup was broken.
There was a half roll of toilet paper and 1 cheap container of hand soap.

While it is a nice environment with very clean tidy rooms it is NOT worth the price.
However when we made our complaints known to the manager the feedback was taken very well. Apologies were offered and complimentary vouchers for the zip were given to us all. The openness to the negative feedback was admirable and also complementary activities were offered.
09 December 2022 3:25
Even though we had a few concerns before check in, we would like to say a big thanks to Mr. T, representative from camp's marketing team, who resolved all our concerns and went extra mile to make our experience on the high level! Thank you so much T, Bear Grylls Camp should value you as you a great asset in the team.
07 December 2022 7:35
Nice and quiet place.
All needed facilities are there.
Rooms has WC, shower, AC, small fridge, cutleries, each cabin has own outdoor BBQ and equipment for it + own bench with a table.
Nice views, mountains around.
Helpful people working.
Has small shop if you forget something.

Amazing survival skills program and group activities, can be suitable for adults and kids as well and they have an amazing overnight cabins that i loved so much
11 May 2022 16:31
Spent a lovely weekend with my family in the camp (2 adults and one 3 years old toddler)

Pros:
- very clean
- lovely staff
- comfortable cabins with ample storage
- lovely atmosphere at night between the campers
- nice shop
- accessible with any cars!

Cons
- don’t book with hotels.com or booking.com they don’t know how to use them and won’t take your booking in consideration! I had to heavily insist not to be sent home despite having booked 2 weeks ago.
-no activities offered for young kids
- they are constructing a dam just behind the camp and it can be noisy! This will hopefully be done soon

Tips:
- ask for a cabin near the reception
- make sure you have solid ankle boots
- ear plugs might help

They don't honour their Groupon terms and conditions for the Jais Sledder so beware before buying.
22 April 2022 21:55
Very nice place! Should come with friends & family for an outdoor break away from the city!
31 March 2022 23:02
Don't trust a confirmed booking, even if you received an email, or booked through an approved website, bookings can be cancelled or changed because of this hotel miss management
28 March 2022 1:32
Absolutely awesome stay.
Clean, crisp and all the amenities you need for a great (comfy!) sleep up a mountain.
Loved it so much, and really grateful to the manager who helped us out with our booking mistake!
21 March 2022 14:33
Booked it for two nights. The day we arrived their generator broke down, for two days they couldn’t fix it and we had to find alternative places last minute. There is nothing of this kind around, so the places we had to stay were overpriced because of last minute and totally different spirit. I understand that things can break down, but anyway this part of our trip was heavily negatively impacted and these guys are unpredictable and unreliable. Maybe they should have a backup generator…
01 March 2022 3:13
Interesting but looks like has not finished yet. You can climb here, learn how to do it. There is line park and possibility to spend overnight. Good for people who are looking for adventure. When I was there many heavy machines were working there and preparing the place. It could be fantastic when they finish it.
15 February 2022 20:17
Whatsapp'd Bear Gryll's on their number provided for more information about an event as I had some questions which were not covered in the details provided on their website. Got a reply with just a link to their website (which I had just come from!) with no form of greeting, not even an hello, thank you for contacting us, or how can we help, just their website link. Serious lack of comprehension, communication and professionalism on Bear Gryll's part and just like that you have lost yourself a potential customer.
05 January 2022 16:56
Pet friendly place. Staff is the BEST! Kudos to the team.

Highly recommended and will surely come back.
13 December 2021 6:02
A very super extra place for nature lovers. The location is very good, harsh jagged mountains all around, plenty of activities to choose from. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Ask for Amdy to be your guide and you won't regret.
28 November 2021 12:08
Amazing place comfy with an outdoor spirit.
Good for Family and bachelors.
For those who really want to experience outdoors activities same time want to have a nice place to stay and shower
The trainers there are amazing
01 August 2021 17:36
It was very good experience. We loved the cleanliness of the cabins and the whole atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. All in all we will definitely be back in the winter to checkout the survival activities they offer.
29 June 2021 2:47
Would thoroughly recommend the 4-hour course as an introduction to surviving the wild. Our instructors Ben and John could not have been better qualified as guides, and were both fantastic (and very patient) with me and two quite "outdoorsy" daughters, 11 and 9. We learned so much, had great fun, and all had a sense of achievement after a varied, intensive and well thought-through afternoon which took full advantage of the stunning wadi environment.

Overnight we stayed in one of the new cabins, which were great and in-keeping with the sense of adventure. Basic and functional, but spotlessly clean and we had all we needed for the night. The design maximizes the space available quite neatly, in what is basically a big tin box. We brought our own BBQ stuff, though cutlery/crockery/utensils (inc.tongs/knives) is provided for 3. The extra picnic cutlery/crockery we brought was useful, though. Bring own towels, and don't leave anything outside the cabin overnight as it may get chewed to bits by a passing goat looking for some breakfast. They will eat anything.

Only suggestion I can think of for the team is to send out the advance info email a bit sooner if possible, this would have been handy to have maybe a week or so before (rather than a couple of days before the course).

Overall, a brilliant experience we will remember for a very long time. Thank you!

Great experience staying and doing the survival course at the Bear Grylls camp. The instructors Ben and Tom were exceptional, providing us with good laughs and passing on their knowledge to us.

The camp was amazingly clean, more like a glamping experiance with everything provided for you and air-conditioned cabins with your own clean bathroom.

They provide a place to BBQ and clean it all regularly for you along with allowing you to buy snacks and rent bikes to explore the wadi (60aed per hour).

The survival course was exception, we learnt how to navigate, make a shelter, start a fire and absail down the side of the mountain. It was all done with experianced guides, everything was ready for us and felt safe and secure. Even got the Bear Grylls experiance by eating some mealworms!

Highly recommended and I'll definitely be back again for the 24hr one, especially if they give us Ben and Tom as they were a lot of fun and really enjoyable to be around!
01 June 2021 8:40
A must go place for families, Tom and Marjing provided excellent customer services during my booking and arranged things according to our requirements. Good luck
22 May 2021 13:40
My experience at the Bear Grylls camp finishing the 24 hour family course was absolutely amazing, definitely 10/10 would recommend for anyone wanting to push themselves out of their comfort zone and experience a different environment, big ups to John, Jude and Buppie for being such great and supportive instructors:)
20 May 2021 21:06
We are a family of 3 with an 11 year old son and just finished the 24 hours survival course. John, Jake and Ben have a wealth of knowledge and are passionate about sharing it. It’s been a truly memorable experience for everyone. It is exhausting and surly not a picnic, but rewarding. Will return. Highly recommended!

Adventure without safety and guidance is Risky, but

Adventure with safety and guidance is fun, enjoyment and experience

My first hiking trip in UAE with Bear Grylls Explorers camp went amazing with full of experiencs, I could leverage their experience and expertise for making this trip more safe and enjoyable.

Perfect getaway from the city. Just sleeping between the mountains. Highly recommend the half day family survival course. My kids are 8 and 10 years old and they just loved it! Educational and lots of fun. We got more than what we expected from this package. The instructors Tom and Leon were great with the kids
23 April 2021 0:48
My brother in law and I were given the 24 hour survival course as a Christmas gift this year, finally managed to fit it in this past weekend not really knowing anything about it, and both absolutely loved it. The instructors Bhupi, Jake and John were very knowledgeable, and presented some new (to me) concepts in really interesting and easy to grasp ways. Learned a lot and was taken outside of my comfort zone (and left with a few scratches and bruises). 100% would recommend.

Side note - the astronomy bit was awesome and mind blowing - felt like I was in a TED talk. Excellent work John

We went for the 24 hours survivor course!
We truly loved the experience with Ben, John and Joud.

As a group we truly enjoyed learning life skills to survive in the wild.

There are also some experiences that I don’t want to ruin! But I highly advise to go through this experience.

I can’t wait for more sessions and adventures!
22 March 2021 15:50
I went there with my office colleagues and had an unforgettable experience. A lot of learning when it came to survival skills. The best part was our trainers, Jake, John and Bhupi. Such young guys with vast experience. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for some learning and a time out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

The children absolutely loved this course! It was pretty tricky and challenging for them but it was so good for them to be thrown out of their comfort zone! My husband and I went with 4 children who are 11,9,8&8 years old. The younger ones did struggle with hiking and carrying heavy backpacks.
The children, my husband and I learnt many different skills to survive. We had lessons in
Different knots
How to make a fire
Purifying water
Making traps to catch food
Making a shelter
Protection from the sun
Navigation at night and day
Abseiling
Skinning birds/prey
Knife skills
SAS rope climbing skills
We hiked all day and learnt new skills along the way. When we got to the camping place we had to make our tents and cook our food. We made a vegetable stew and to my surprise the children all got stuck in with skinning a pigeon! It was fantastic for them. In the evening we learnt about the star constellations and how to use the stars to navigate at night. It was fascinating!
The next day we learnt how to make a shelter, purify water and the most exciting part was the abseiling! Only one of the 4 children actually plucked up the courage to abseil down the huge rock and that was one of the 8 year olds! Thank you so much to the fantastic team! Jude, Jake and Ben were so encouraging, patient and kind to us all. This is quite an expensive trip but TRUST ME it’s definitely worth it! Fantastic life skills, and the children really do appreciate their home comforts now! That’s for sure!
Also a big thank you to Leon for his support and help with everything.
21 February 2021 22:58
Brilliant, real experience with great tips and advice on survival. Not for those looking for a luxury pampered camping trip.
10 February 2021 18:46
I liked it. It was quite fun but there were some really hard bits. My favourite bit was when we did the little abseil along the side of a rock. I learnt how to make a fire, I didn’t know that I could make a fire using cotton wool and vasaline. I learnt how to keep myself from sunburn by using mud and mixing it with water and then putting it over my face and arms. I really liked the potatoes in the vegetable stew that we made. We didn’t have enough food for breakfast only a small croissant and a banana but I didn’t eat the banana because I don’t like bananas. At the nighttime I was cold because I didn’t bring all the clothes I wanted to because Jude told me to leave them behind. I found walking very hard because I am like a sloth. Thank you Bear Grills for making this 24 hour survival course challenging.
Nusa aged 8

I think that people should really, really go on this course because it’s really good and really fun and I recommend it to the city people because they live a different lifestyle. I learnt a lot of about survival and stuff and things like lighting a fire. I didn’t know that you could use Vaseline to light a fire with cotton wool, or how you can use flint & steel, I only learnt that in Minecraft.it was interesting how the batteries lit a bit of wire wool. It lit up straight away! It was so cool! It was really interesting. What I found difficult was the abseiling at the end, I didn’t do it because I have a fear of heights, but it’s fine if you have a fear you can chose whatever you want to do and not do. Some parts are sick, some parts of the course are disgusting. We did knife training where we had to cut up a couple of vegetables and made a soup thing which was delicious. And we ate pigeon, it tasted like chicken with a weird aftertaste.
Igor aged 9

I loved it!
It was very complicated and hard, but I still enjoyed it.
My favorite part was abseiling. My least favorite part was sleeping.
It was very beautiful and when I came there I thought we were going to be abseiling from a very high mountain.
I learned how to make fire, how to filter dirty water, how to protect your skin from sun burns.
I recommend this course to adventurous, brave children

Excellent day with really helpful and knowledgeable instructors. They manage to pack in a lot in the four hours, and make it a joyous experience. Took part with my 13 year old son enjoyed learning together and would definitely recommend it for all ages
30 January 2021 12:40
I have been on their half day program, they teach you basic survival skills. I my self is an expert in survival skills, I would say what they teach you is good for a beginner. The staff and the instructors are very nice people and highly skilled. If you like to outdoor, I would strongly recommend you to try them.

I enjoyed my experience n Bear Grylls explorers Camp, highly recommended place to visit in RAK.
24 January 2021 10:35
This was a really fun and informative afternoon, we learned some practical survival skills and put them into practice. John, Jake and Jude were excellent instructors, clearly very well trained and highly experienced. I would thoroughly recommend the course.
