You need a bit of fitness here, you have to climb 239 steps. In between there are always information cards where you can take a breather. Once at the top you have a beautiful all-round view. In summer you should postpone the climb until the evening as you will be in the blazing sun the whole time. The journey is a bit bumpy, there are parking spaces in front of the entrance.
Hello everybody) Oh, I really liked the fort! Gorgeous views from above, very beautiful. The mountains resemble a Martian landscape, and below there is a green scattering of date palms and small goats running) Since the lady is not young, she climbed while relaxing on the platforms What was a mistake - they left water in the car, it would have been very useful when climbing) We didn’t regret for a minute that we went. I recommend it, I hope many people will like it! P. S. Yes, you don’t need to buy tickets, at least when we were there, it was free. At the box office there was a mini-survey about age and what country they came from.
Nicely preserved and maintainined. Very nice views from the top. I request the authorities to put directional signs from the motorway nearby to easily guide visitors to the Fort. Entry is free.
Beautiful little old fort near RAK, free entry (thru security cabin), lots of info up the short walk to top, palms and Acacias in the valley, Mangroves and sea, and nestled by the mountains. Very peaceful and quiet, worth a visit. However, do NOT follow the sat nav up 3D St and Rayden St, it is a poor quality dirt road, go up to Dhaya St instead, fully paved all the way to the parking lot.
It’s a nice little excursion. Nothing too exciting and not that much of the fort actually to see. But beautiful view over Ras Al Khaima and the mountains.
It's worth visiting.view is just amazing. You can enjoy the view of the mountain as well as the beach from the top of the fort. No entrance fees or tickets are needed.
Dhayah Fort is one of the oldest and most important forts in the UAE. It has historical significance as it played a role in the resistance against British forces in the early 19th century. The fort is constructed using traditional materials such as mudbrick and coral stone. It features watchtowers and defensive walls, showcasing typical Arabian fort architecture. The fort is historically associated with the Battle of Dhayah, which took place in 1819. The local inhabitants, led by the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, resisted British forces. Although the British eventually captured the fort, its historical significance remains.
Its a nice experience, specially the steps to go up.been visiting several forts now in UAE and the the steps of this fort make me a lot tired, its worth it specially you will see the view from the top and the structure itself, see the history it represent, how the inhabitants stayed before. Interesting one.
Its a lovely place to visit. Located far end at ras al khaimah and can be access without 4x4. There are two ways that leads to this fort location one is little offroad and other one is proper road which leads to the parking area. Awesome sunset view from this location. To reach at the top of the fort you need to climb 250 stairs. Be careful with kids while coming down or going up.
I will recommended this place as a very awesome tourist destination in RAS. Must visit this place and enjoy the splendid view of nature from top.
It's a bit of a climb up some stairs to get to the fort and it might be a struggle for some (or only a light stroll if you're fit) but there's a decent viewing point from the top worth going up for.
The fort itself is basic, but nonetheless interesting to see for the historical significance, and there's a courtyard area with some ok views of the surrounding areas as well as the nearby mountains.
There's at least two ways to drive to the carpark here - one which is sealed, the other unsealed and narrow. If you find yourself on the unsealed route you should probably you go back and find the other route.
Dhayah Fort is an 18th-century fortification in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. It is the highest hilltop fort in the UAE and in 1819 was the last bastion of local resistance to the British punitive expedition of 1819 which sacked Ras Al Khaimah, Rams and southern coastal settlements as far as Dubai.
