Wadi Showka Dam Park

It was a great place. Ideal for camping. You can stay for as long as you want. As a Muslim, I liked having a mosque there. There were small ponds too

Good picnic spot especially during winter months. Great place for BBQ times. You can hike to the nearby dam. The scene is breathtaking.

Lovely place.amazing hiking trail. Hidden gem for sure for people who like to hike and camp in the mountains. Had a great time. My 5 years old climbed all the stairs

Amazing place to go for a getaway trip, they have a nice well maintained park with washrooms, prayer rooms, barbecue place, kids park uphill, amazing dam viewdeck, excellent and most known hiking place in the mountain, the flower patterns, light arrangements are all done elegantly by RAK. Huge parking place.adjacent flowing canals that run thru the famrs near by. Overall a great weekend spot. There are staycation villas available in close vicinity and shaded seating areas, cafeteria/grocery.

Amazing place with barbecue facilities and picnic areas, between mountains and kids playing area.

I must say that this place is perfect for families with kids. They have enough bbq pits, play area, toilets and little grocery for snacks and some simple food that's prepared to munch on.
Families can plan their little parties and host it here. There is enough space to camp too.

A great place to be in touch with nature, the govt has done an excellent job to maintain the beauty of it

Small but enough parking space, easy for all types of vehicles. Huts with proper shelter and lighting. Barbeque stations at multiple places. Small cafeteria with tea and few items. Male and female washrooms, although not very clean. A small masjid is available with ablution area

The path/trail is mostly rocky, so not feasible for prams/strollers

A must to visit! Its a best place for family. They have playing area for kids, toilet and fun activity for those people who like adventure they have a stair going on top of the rock mountain and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

Very Bad experience, Ladies washroom having no light no water, cleaness is the key concern and specially in the situations like now a days due to Covid that should be the highest priority, male washrooms are bit okey with light n water only.

Parking is very limited, and you need to be very early to capture the spot. Very limited or i think only one shop which is very expensive and specially live cooking while cars are moving.yekh.

A secluded park in the midst of a Wadi. Amazingly well maintained and super scenic. Never crowded (until now) and a brilliant location.
Easily accessible by small cars too. No off-road needed.
A small Emirati family run coffee /sweets joint outside the park adds to the quaint feel.
A perfect spot to be away from the crowds. Winters would be amazingly superb for sure.

There is also a mosque, and a cafeteria for snacks and drinks.
Washroom facilities are present as well.
Visit preferred during winter months.

Place was really owesome. A calm night with family, under stars.

The only drawback is the washroom, which was not clean, specifically now during covid we felt it unhygienic to use.

With more than 650 steps this hike is not at easy as it looks. Best time to visit between Nov to April. Post rains it gets quiet humid with almost no winds.

Just away from Dubai, about 45 minutes of drive. Its undisturbed place full of positive energy, mountain hiking that’s super safe for all ages with proper stairs. The park has kid’s playground and open walk area. The car parking is a little bit away from the dam; long ago the parking was very close to the dam but it has been is closed now. There are concrete stairs going to the mountain peak. The water looks a lovely blue green and makes a good photo with the bare background mountains. One can climb down to the water edge beyond the dam if you want to get closer. One can walk along the Wadi below the dam where trails are visible. There is a very nice park with kids play area.

Now too hot to go there, be careful you may melt if you don’t protect yourself.

It’s too hot to climb the mountains, a little pity anyway. But I am sure this means I will meet them again in the future.

This attraction is a fairly new touristic spot. There was barely any water in the dam. There is a play area for the kids in the park and great for hikers. There is a path for hikers all the way to the top of the mountain. Family friendly and limited parking available. There are a few small stalls for snacks and coffee.

A good place to spend family time, the hardest thing is to find a spot where you can camp rest is all same as any other camping place in UAE, prefer higher points for a better view and good wind, lower spots get darkness faster and earlier with the scare of insects but not a lot, we haven't encountered any at our visit, bring your food and plenty of water, to keep you hydrated throughout your time at your camp since I saw no shop there where we went and at night there is nothing at all lights get closed after 11, so better to pack your stuff around 10 and leave in an hour before it's only you left there.

A very beautiful place to spend an entire day. Park, kids play area, spectacular mountain view, dam and, and amazing hiking over the mountain. Lots of parking, adventures hiking. You can also do barbeque and overnight camping. Will maintained public washrooms are also available.

Good Spot for BBQ, nice park for children, good trucking spot with almost 700 steps to top. Love it

A beautiful hill with its natural beauty and Dam at eastern exterior of RAK gives pleasure to relax and do hiking. Panoramic view of Queen Hill. Restraraunt are 10-15 mts drive. Take your eatables, water, etc. BBQ enjoy. Wash room available. Visit period- November to February best and time 10am to 8pm

Wadi shawka dam a small dam with a waterbody not visible from tha parking area. There is a small park with a small slide for
Children.the parking is the starting point for a hike which offers a good outdoor activity during winter months for outdoor lovers in UAE. There are two options for trekking. One is an easy trek starting a bit before the dam parking and another one whoch is a bit steep and done thru a series of steps.

Outstanding place for family outings, with shades and BBQ spots. Washrooms facilities available.

Small park surrounded by mountains. Not much facilities available. Hope it will develop soon. Specially this area is for hiking.

A very nice hiking experience! Amazing views.there are several tracks of different levels.
A new and healthy way of spending 3 or 4 hours with family or friends at
only one hour from Dubai.

Worst place to visit. Nothing to see. All washrooms locked. Don’t ever make a mistake of going with family.
