I would give a negative rating if I could. I have never ever encountered such a bad customer service. I am a Premier customer and therefore, I am paying for, and supposed to received a premium service. The service I have been receiving is a disgrace to the HSBC name and to the UAE banking sector. It is shameful that a bank of this stature rips off its customers this way. If you are thinking about opening an account here, for the sake of you mental sanity that you do not do it. Any other bank (literally) would be a better choice. If you already have an account, you should close it, which I will do myself next month.

I recently encountered significant delays in international transactions with HSBC leading to late payments and penalties. The most disappointing aspect was the lack of communication. No notifications about delays were provided, and attempts to seek clarification were met with unhelpful responses. Clear and timely communication is essential in financial matters, and this experience fell short. Improving communication processes would go a long way in preventing such issues. Disappointed customer.

Doesn't deserve one star. I made a small transfer of 700 AED from my accounts and my transfer was withheld for weeks even after replying to unnecessary questions they sent me on mail. They harassed me over the phone and didn't transfer the money. This is pure harassment to clients. I want to transfer small amount and that will take weeks. This is my worse banking experience and I am left with no option but to close the account and still I am waiting for my money transfer.this bank is disgusting.

I had a good experience until the last time i visited this branch. The teller in Premier was so rude to when i went to cash a cheque. I felt completely ignored and disrespected. Please provide basic training for your employees.

One of the horrible organisation in the name of bank. Still in stone ages and refusing to move forward. Biggest mistake to open the investment account in the bank and now if I want to check on the account I need to go to the branch personally and then they will give me a call within Two working days to discuss on the account. What a joke. It’s close to impossible to do anything to access your account. Raising this up with the central bank and let’s see where it goes.

Very bad service, one of the worst if not the worst bank in UAE. I needed to make an urgent domestic transfer for my son to a local bank, expecting 10 - 15 min like other banks for local transfer of small amounts, the next day I received a call from the HSBC to ask if I know the person I am transferring to, I told him it is my son, and it is urgent, after 3 days nothing happened I called customer care center, he/she said will send email to transfers team, 4th day nothing happened, called again and again 4th, 5th day, all their reply will try to help you in the next 24 to 48 hrs, one week nothing happened although I told them it is urgent to make a payment.after frustration I told them to cancel the transfer, (transferred the amount from another account with another bank) which happened in a matter of minutes.again to return my account it took them full week to be deposited in my account again.what kind of bank is this? BTW I am a customer with the bank since 1996! They have no consideration to customers needs, time, customer care, or customer requirements mean nothing to them. I wish I could give minus 5 stars.

Not recommended at all. I have an advanced account with them for last 6 years and I am not 1% happy with their services. There is a long list of problems which we face every day, here I am listing few of those only. I have made a transfer on 9th of January and until today (23rd Feb) the amount is not transferred. Only because some “intermediate bank” required some information from HSBC and they are lazy enough to provide it. They compromised my credit card information once and replaced it. They block occasionally very small transaction and ask me to provide them very private information of the recipient including Date of Birth, address, gender, relation etc. Nobody will ask or share such information of others. Their call center team called me with a wrong name and they don't know why and who changed my name in their system. I visited the bank to correct it, they said in our system it is correct and I should call the callcenter. How can I trust their call center if they don't even know my correct name? Whenever you call their customer they have one answer “I will send an email to the team.blah blah” and then nothing happens.

I moved to Abu Dhabi from the USA, and I needed a bank. So I selected HSBC, which a friend recommended. Since then, I have gone from one disappointment to another. It took them seven business days to send me some means to access my bank accounts, such as a credit card or checks. Now here is the exciting part: when I signed off, they said they would do it if I needed a loan for a car or anything else. And when I subscribed for a car loan after 30 days, I was denied. Their policy requires 12 month's history. I was asking for a fast car loan. Even though the car belonged to them, they did not process it. Even though the car is under warranty, they did not process it. Bottom line, do not trust HSBC: what they say is not what they do. They are not different from other banks (even worst). I do not recommend HSBC. The service is null and they are not transparent with their policy.

This bank doesn't even deserve 1 star. I been going daily to deposit cash in CDM all the way from MBZ to AUH City but the machine isn't working. They have put a note on machine stating it will be fixed shortly just for drama. I called helpline but even after waiting for 40 mins couldn't get through. No one shows up on chat support as well. Please save yourself from hassle and frustration and go for some local bank.

Worst service ever! Calling their call center takes agessssss and after they answer: useless information! I litterally spent more than 8 hours on the phone this week and couldn't reach any representative! Paying credit card dues is even worst! Cant be done through app unless we apply and then call! Which will take hours and hours again!
The funniest thing is: they dont accept complaints

Deserves less than 1 star…I have been in Abu Dhabi for the past 7 years. I decided to move my salary and savings to this bank because I thought being an international bank would offer me some advantage. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE. The service was the worse I have ever experienced in my life. They were only interested in having my money invested. Once they noticed I did not want them to do it, I did not hear anything else from my account manager. Credit card not working abroad. Communication always deficient. Call Center useless. Unfriendly platforms. Whatever you want to do takes centuries. Finally to end the worse banking experience I ever had, after closing all accounts and credit cards, not having any balance there, they accepted a refund in the credit card for nearly 800 dirhams. They offered me to transfer the money to my new bank. It’s been already 2 months and still nothing happened. No replies via mail, no answer on the phone, no solution at all. They pretend just to keep my money with them.
So please, if you ever plan to open a bank account in Abu Dhabi, choose any bank except HSBC.

I have yet to have a positive experience with HSBC. I have had no success when speaking to them and their chat box drops times out my bank login even though I active on the site.
I was forced into using this bank as an expat due to a company arrangement. Time to look for a new banker.

The whole process is very professional and smooth. My point of contact Deema Khateeb was an absolute delight to speak to and guided me without any delays or issues and knew the process very well. The online services like net banking, phone banking and mobile banking are extremely simple and efficient to use. The call center is very responsive and assists without any hassles. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a smoother treatment from HSBC. There is a process to everything, and if one understands them, they are a bank that caters to your needs and treats their clients very well. Very thankful to my PoC for the guidance in setting up a bank account in the UAE.

Never ever open an account with HSBC and make any international transfer from HSBC! It is FRAUD! I transferred 1000 AED with158 AED charges and the money left the account on the 18th of February, a few days later when I called HSBC I was told that the money had been rejected by beneficiary bank. When I called the beneficiary bank I was told that the money had never been received. Since the 18th of February when the transfer took place HSBC could not confirmed where the funds have been transferred too and further more they have not recredited the funds back to my account. I called HSBC several times to enquire why the transfer did not take the place as instructed. After many complaints I received 850 AED back into my account on the 2nd of March without any explanation why the additional 150 AED had been deducted! HSBC-UK should be careful when affiliating with HSBC UAE as this will spoil their reputation and brand name. I will definitely be closing my account in HSBC and will never suggest anyone to open the account in HSBC!

Hope no one had to deal with customer centre or branch as they keep on putting responsibility on each other and waste your time and close the matter without resolution didn't expected that low level of customer service experience that took 4 months and matter closed without resolution with no explanation found for closure

Bad service quality. I've changed from adcb to hsbc but I should have stayed to adcb the customer service was very good. They promise me airmiles with credit card but it's been now 2 months I've chasing this with phone and they still cannot provide a simple card number. Very disappointing. I will switch back to adcb which is way better.

I got a call today from HSBC AE Fraud team, forgot the name of the lady who called me early in the morning with a friendly approach. And confirmed if I transacted the recent transaction I made from Amazon. I was amazed with their pro activity. More than a year so far the HSBC ae has a great service for me. From Online banking, as well as transfers locally and internationally.

Their retail banking/personal banking section is very poor. I am an existing HSBC customer. Getting any kind of service like personal loan, investments, mortgage is often frustrating. Their credit cards are below par as well, for example Lounge access is restricted to MENA region and no option to switch to EMI. Branches in the region are limited as well.
However the biggest advantage is that you can open an overseas account and send money across without fees.

Tried to call to set up my pin. Automatic system failed and kicked me to a live representative. I would have preferred the computer. The representative told me my pin was wrong (I just called to set up the pin, so WTF). Then she asks me security questions that make zero sense, other than my nationality. She cannot explain what she’s asking for but just repeats herself on a loop.

Not helpful, HBSC. Now I have to take time to go into the bank because your telephone rep wasted time and didn’t help me.

If this is a continuous problem with this bank, I’ll be switching ASAP.

HSBC in the UAE is the worst Bank in the world, I have severaal accounts in many partys of the world and this the only HSBC that does not have international calling. Mis inform customers constantly and lose important documents, like salary letters and Emirates IDs. The UAE branch is the worst in the world and brings down the Quailty of HSBC as a whole its ridiculous and yes I will be discontinuing my service with this company. Everyone else Beware!

Worse than bad. I have recurring problems using the internet banking service to transfer money back to my account in Europe. The support service has not only been unable to solve this seemingly simple issue in three months, but each time I call, I have to start explanations and tests back to square one because obviously they have not recorded the previous incidents.
Having a transfer made by phone banking takes forever (up to more than 45 min on the phone) with a person barely speaking English and ignorant of basic banking matters.
Switching to another bank next week.

Horrible customer service! If you want to do a LOCAL transfer it takes forever! They are totally and completely useless! THIS BANK DESERVES TO BE SUED! They use your money and NIL services in return!

Very unprofessional and cheating agents. 2 agents from HSBC had me waiting for over a month with my documents and never gave in return what they said they will.all my documents where wrong and worng info printed on my cards and cheque book, and never even bothered to fix it
